What 2147 Calories Looks Like

Posted: July 20, 2011 at 7:00 am

After giving birth to Makenzie, I discovered one of the best things ever. Food is not the enemy! In fact, my body told me EAT if you want to get in the shape you hope to achieve. And as I grew deeper in my faith and recognized my body as something of value, I began to see the importance of respecting it and fueling it adequately. I finally chose to listen to my body after years of following crazy food rules and ended up in the best shape of my life. I took that same approach post-Braedon and, wouldn’t you know, I made the same sort of progress and feel pretty dang good if I do say so myself. Eat well. Have energy. Live well. Get a healthy, strong, FIT body. Don’t mind if I do!

It always saddens me when I hear about diet plans with recommended calorie intakes of 1200 calories. I truly believe its possible for a healthy individual with no metabolic issues to lose weight eating more than that. I hope to display that you can certainly eat enough food to fuel your body well, feel satiated, and still make progress.

Peas and Crayons

I certainly don’t post all of my eats on a daily basis, so for today’s What I Ate Wednesday post I wanted to give a rundown of ALL my typical daily meals and how they add up. I even broke out the Eat Smart Precision food scale I received at the Fitbloggin conference to get accurate counts for you all. I ate as I normally do, but simply measured the portions I typically use. The scale made measuring for the day easy and accurate since I could choose to measure in grams. Note: If you measure things, always use grams. You get more food. Reason enough for me!

IMGP0087

Oh, flashbacks to competition prep days! It’s been a long time since I’ve measured things besides the occasional check on portion sizes or for recipe purposes. And it’s certainly been forever since I have measured things like raisins! Nevertheless, I wanted to get an accurate depiction, so here we are. Besides - calories beware. You don’t scare me!

Pre-Workout:

IMGP0092

Banana = ~ 110 calories

Breakfast:

IMGP9954

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats cooked in water
  • 4 large strawberries diced
  • handful of raisins (ended up at 26 grams)
  • big blob of peanut butter (ended up at 29 grams)
  • splash of unsweetened vanilla almond breeze to reach the right consistency + almond milk in my iced coffee (~ 1/2 cup)
  • sprinkle of brown sugar for sweetener (~ 1 tsp?)

Grand Total = 467 calories

Lunch:

wrap lunch

  • flat out wrap
  • sliced deli ham – 4 oz
  • 1 garlic herb laughing cow wedge
  • mustard
  • handful of spinach
  • thick slice of tomato
  • 2/3 of a mango
  • 2 large carrots chopped into sticks
  • 2 tablespoons Sabra Roasted Pine Nut hummus

Grand Total = 432 calories

Afternoon Snack:

  • whole wheat English muffin
  • spread of peanut butter on each slice (equaled 14 grams)
  • spread of “just fruit” strawberry jam on each slice (equaled 12 grams)
  • 6 oz container vanilla Chobani yogurt
  • handful Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal (equaled 22 grams)

Grand Total = 448 calories

Dinner:

pasta salad dinner

  • 3/4 cup cooked whole wheat penne pasta
  • chopped cherry tomatoes
  • diced zucchini
  • diced mushrooms
  • chopped artichoke hearts
  • chopped black olives
  • 1 oz feta cheese
  • 1.5 tbsp Ken’s Northern Italian dressing

Grand Total (estimate on this one because I got so sick of measuring): 450 calories

Dessert:

  • Private Collection cookie ice-cream sandwich while finishing up The Bachelorette

Total = 240 calories

In total, I ate 2147 calories on a typical day of meals. I haven’t changed my eating habits from when I made progress on my Body After Baby journey. I usually eat a good deal more than this on weekends as I consumer more “treats” and have a hunger monster at work every Saturday after my long runs. Sure, every body is different. However, I know in light of certain diets, it can appear that we need to eat less less less. From my personal experience, I find the opposite. My body will only reach the places it has when I give it what it needs. And I want to show the value in eating enough. Enough is different for each body…but why not push the limits to get the most quality fuel you can to it? Eating is fun. Enough with the starvation!

  • Do you ever track your food at all?
  • Because I’m curious – your thoughts on The Bachelorette if you watched!

  1. It’s crazy to think this is almost 1,000 calories more than the 1,200 calorie plans certain weight loss programs call for. It’s hard to imagine eating that much less because what you posted looks NORMAL! I actually had a scary experience with the whole 1,200 calorie thing when I first started calorie counting to lose weight. It was a day when I was aiming for 1,200 because I wasn’t working out and it was 6pm, I was walking the dog on the nearby trail and hadn’t eaten since lunch. I tripped on a rock and when I got up, my blood sugar was so low I fainted. On a trail, by myself with just my dog. That was a wakeup call in and of itself that my body needs more than 1200 calories in a day!

    • Tina says:

wow! That is a really scary situation. Glad you were okay and it helped you decide to fuel better. I’ve been there before too and low blood sugar is a scary thing!

  2. I measured my food and counted calories for about two months when I was trying to lose about 5-10 pounds at the beginning of the year. It did teach me about portion control and which foods were higher calorie (nuts, granola) compared to fruits and veggies. Now I just eat three meals and 2-3 snacks each day and exercise regularly. I have maintained my current weight for about 4 months now, but added muscle while losing body fat. Counting calories on a daily basis is a beating so I just check in about every 2 months to see how I am doing.

  3. Rebecca says:

I had to track my food intake for a week or something for a class my Freshman year… It was annoying, but it was kind of interesting to see just what I was (or wasn’t) eating… And I think I about failed the assignment because I didn’t get enough of the information! Hah.

  4. Danica says:

I just started tracking my food for just one day a week. I wouldn’t care to do it more than a couple days a week at the most, but I really like doing it that day because it really makes me aware of the nutritious foods I’m choosing or not choosing and what kind of balance I have….I’m like you in this way though–I don’t see how eating a little 1200 calories a day (unless there is a medical reason for it, of course) is healthy or at all good for you. I love to eat, and it’s fun for me to eat a balanced diet! Sometimes it’s a challenge that I love to overcome too : )

    • Tina says:

I totally stand behind occasional tracking for accountability!Especially when you can still have a healthy balance, which I know you do. 🙂

  5. I’ve just started counting calories in an attempt to identify how much I’m consuming, how much I’m burning, etc. My hope is that once I figure out the amount that works for me, and once I figure out how to eyeball and know that I’m eating the right amount, that I won’t need to count anymore. But so far, it has been SO EYE OPENING. I have been consuming far more carbs and fat than recommended and not nearly enough protein.

    • Tina says:

I can relate. I counted more seriously after B was born for a short period to learn more about portions and my intake, but now just go with the flow. It’s a good balance.

  6. I track my food just so I am more aware of what I am consuming, however, I use the rule to eat when I am hungry. This is normally every 2-3 hours….but I do my best to make the best decision on what I do eat….I go off how the food will make me feel…

on to the bachelorette….I am just glad I haven’t heard the word “bentley” come out of her mouth! But I feel JP and her have the most chemistry even though she seems to be pretty “smitten” by Ben. There is something missing though with him. He definitely doesn’t talk with much emotion, its like he is a robot or something. But JP does seem to have some insecurities which I think Ashley has the same, so maybe thats why they are so attracted to each other?

  7. I love the insight into what you eat, not because I like to compare to what I eat, but just to get ideas on filling snacks and simple meals. As a former chronic dieter, I struggle with the notion of “being good” all of the time and feel guilty when I eat “badly.” You’re a great inspiration.

  8. The idea of eating only 1200 calories a day makes me want to cry. I remember in the worst of my ED days, I would struggle to even eat 500 calories a day. I look back at that now and have no idea how that was even possible. Its really no wonder I was so mean back then. Now, I couldnt even give you an idea of how many calories I consume in a day. I dont look at them, I dont think about them, I just eat what I want, when I want. For me, that seems to work the best.

  9. i sometimes track my food (meaning once every few weeks) just because im curious but other than that i try not to , it makes me LOCO!!! it is so interesting to see though !! there is certainly value in not eating enough, i was there right after my show…i kept eating like i was in show prep…i was tired, and i was not looking too good…my face was sunken in and I ddi not like it…then I realized I NEED TO EAT! so I have been eating and drinking and enjoying and feel SO much better!!!

  10. This is SUCH a fantastic post – thankyou!! These 1200 calorie diets are so dangerous and I can’t believe the number of magazines that have them in, claiming that they are ‘normal’ and a ‘healthy’ way to lose weight when in the end it makes women depressed, tired and lethargic. I remember back in my ED days 1200 calories would actually scare me and I thought my diet of barely anything was a much better way to lose weight. I have no idea how I managed to sustain myself on so little as I could not even manage on less than 2000 calories these days!
I’m also grateful that calorie counting does not rule my life anymore as I see food as fun and I go with what I’m craving and I’ve never felt happier 🙂 It was also SUCH a pain to count every single little thing – I just can’t possibly do it anymore!

  11. Lisa says:

It makes me angry when people are told to eat 1200 calories a day. That’s a starvation diet. When I was trying to lose 100 pounds I ate between 1500-1800 calories a day. I rarely was in the 1500 range because that was just too few food with my fitness.

  12. Fun post! I’m impressed with your eats- they look satisfying and incorporate lots of fruits and veggies!

I tracked my food intake for a month this past december- I was following a pescetarian diet and I wanted to see the impact on my health. I didn’t keep track of calories or anything- I imagine that is very tiresome!

  13. cindy says:

After my second babe was born, I tracked and measured briefly. I found I needed to be reminded of what normal portions looked like. I had to do it again once I quit breastfeeding, though. Although breastfeeding wasnt the magic weight loss pill, apparently I was burning more calories than i thought! I put on 5 lbs in a month! But loosely tracking helped me get back on track quickly.

(and I am seeing the same strange pre filled in commenter information that’s not mine that others are!)

    • Tina says:

Grrrr. Dang comment thing. Its apparently a WP issue. Peter is going to look into it tonight. Its driving me crazy!

  14. Lisa says:

I love this post Tina! I found it so important when you said . “My body will only reach the places it has when I give it what it needs.” I think thats so crucial to never forget! Thank you for pointing that out! I forget that sometimes!

  15. Tina, this is my first time on your site (and I’ve already commented on two posts – sorry!), and I just read your bio. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and thoughts. I have struggled with very similar things, and consider myself on the “up side” of the overcoming process. It is a journey though! I am looking forward to reading your 30 Days of Self Love posts, and finding more on your blog. Thanks for the encouragement and for sharing!

  16. I am SOOO in agreement about the whole diet thing. My mom is a hardcore yo-yo dieter and it drives me nuts. I’ve always believed in making healthier substitutions in my diet that I can keep up with for the rest of my life. I’ve gotten better results with that than I have with any diet, even a short term result!

  17. I used to RELIGIOUSLY track my food before I got pregnant. When I got pregnant I threw out my food journals. They actually made me a little more obsessive than I needed and they triggered me to binge more on a “free day”. I had to change my ways and I started eating for health (for me and the babies). 🙂 Thanks for mentioning that it’s okay to have a good amount of calories. some of those diet plans are NOT realistic. 🙂
And the Bachelorette- I just want to give Ames a great big hug!!!!

  18. Up until a month ago, I counted calories – yes, even pregnant! I’ve been doing it for about 4 years now, and I think I finally realized it wasn’t doing me any good. I KNOW how to eat right and my body knows when it’s hungry! I’ve actually found the same thing true as you do with eating – if I eat too little I actually gain weight. When I eat according to my hunger – and eat good-for-you food – my body responds with energy, glowing skin, good runs, etc. I’m nervous about when I need to lose baby weight, but I believe if I trust my body, the weight will come off.

  19. This is a fabulous post. I am someone who requires a lot of food to maintain my weight, and when I started to compare myself to how other people ate, I got so anxious about it and lost too much weight. Some people would comment that they couldn’t believe I was getting so thin eating “so much”, and it frustrated me because that was NOT a lot of food for me – it was way too little. It taught me that I need to listen to my body and pretty much ignore every women’s magazine article on this, which consistently tells me I need to be eating about 500-1000 calories less than I need each day. I also realized that I need to have a little bit of thicker skin when it comes to others’ comments. Someone is always going to comment on how much I eat, and I need to learn to brush it off and not let it get to me.
I love your confidence in this post! It’s very empowering 🙂

  20. Yes! Isn’t it awesome that we can eat MORE and LOSE weight! I was eating 1,800-2,000 calories a day and losing 1 pound a week. Love it!

  21. Sarah says:

I love that you did this. It really gets under my skin when I see 1200 (or even 1500 calorie) diets. Eating well -and enough-is healthy!

  22. I love this post. I frequently get upset when people insist that they need to be eating 1200-1500 calories a day to lose weight. I have a good friend from HS who has only been eating 1200 a day for weeks and she’s not adjusting for exercise – so that’s her total regardless of whether she works out. I’m convinced it’s going to take a day where she just passes out from hunger to get her to listen to me.
By the way – I broke out one of your posts in a conversation with a coworker the other day! She was convinced of the “no food 2 hours before bed rule!” and I was like – NO! I learned that isn’t real and directed her to your site. She likes it a lot 🙂

    • Tina says:

Aw, thanks for the recommendation! And yep – I eat a snack or dessert less than an hour before bed most nights. 🙂

    • I agree with you Carly! It drives me bananas to see people thinking they can only eat 1200 calories a day… are you kidding me?! How can one function on just that?

      • Mac says:

Woah weird, I just wrote the comment from Claire, I’m not sure how her info got in my “Name, Email, URL” lines when I was comment and I didn’t notice it was there either, normally my info automatically shows up… Sorry Claire!

  23. A much better (and healthier) way to think about food! It’s always nice to read about women eating FOR their bodies, which will inevitably get you where you want to be. Bananas are a pre-workout food for me too!

  24. Ela says:

Thanks for sharing this–great inspiration, and great that you thumb your nose to the calories!

I used to obsessively weight and count every single thing–nowadays, I don’t because I don’t want to get into the obsession again, but sometimes I think it would be useful.
I think my appetite is really small, except for occasional “spikes.”

  25. Helen says:

Love the eats! I too eat like that- several small healthy meals.

My friends think that I am crazy to eat so much. I hate when they make comments about “genes and luck” that I do not gain weight, cuz I totally will and do occasionally.

  26. Thanks for posting this! So interesting 🙂

  27. I’m so impressed with your effort for this post! I tracked my food simply through an online diary for a week and that alone was enough to make me crazy.

I find that I just need to listen to my body on food. Sometimes, I’m not that hungry and 1200 calories will easily do me, although I’m never counting. On other days, I’m starving, and if I feel weak and hungry, my body must need fuel, so I give it fuel. I’m still new to this health thing, but I’m pretty sure that listening to what my body needs is something I already have right.

  28. Anna Crouch says:

Yikes….I probably hit 1,200 calories a day before dinner even arrives! When magazines suggest 1,200-1,500 calories a day for weight loss, I wonder if they are speaking to people who AREN’T active. Because if a sedentary woman is trying to lose weight, and the optimal calorie deficit to lose weight is like…what…500 calories a day(?), then yes, she would most likely need to eat around 1,200-1,500 depending on her weight, body type and etc. BUT….health-wise, I don’t think that would be the best way to lose weight, because with 1,200 calories, you’re NOT getting adequate vitamins, minerals and nutrition!! A person would be better off exercising and eating MORE than that amount, to create the same deficit, yet getting more vitamins, minerals and general nutrition!! There’s not way I would be able to eat a mere 1,200 calories…even on days I DON’T work out!

And it’s true…everyone is different. I probably don’t eat quite as large of a breakfast or afternoon snack as you. If I did eat a big snack, my dinner appetite would be shot. And that’s just me and how my body works! I’ve done it before, and I know my body well enough to know it’s too much for me. However…you’re activity is also probably a bit more than mine! You have kids AND run slightly longer distances 🙂 So yes…everyone is different! It’s interesting to see that though, and have that reminder, so thanks for posting!

  29. Emily says:

I have been following your blog for a while and I just wanted to thank you for posting this information. I probably eat between 2000-2400 calories each day while losing weight – I am 6’2″ and I will NEVER be one of those girls who can get by on 1200 calories a day…

  30. […] by WP Greet Box WordPress PluginEver since my peanut butter and jelly combo during my snack in yesterday’s 2147 calories (loving reading all your comments by the way!), I have had PBJ on the brain. it even inspired me to […]

  31. Looks good to me! Eating IS fun! you tell em girl! eat well feel well!!!!!

    Happy WIAW Tina!

  32. Aimee says:

I am currently eating 1200 to 1500 calories a day but this is because I am not exercising at all, or even moving that much during the day. I am staying at my grandparents house and they live in a very remote area and there is not that much to do. During the day it is in the 100’s and too hot to go outside. At night, we take walks, but its not any intense exercise.

My grandparents also grow all of their own food. Tomatoes, pepper, onions, watermelon, you name it. They cook a very healthy diet and I feel that I am getting all the nutrients I need. I eat healthy fats (olive oil), plenty of vegetables. My protein comes from beans and lean meats. I even have room for a small piece of chocolate or a little bit of icecream if I have a sweet tooth,

I was very wary of eating so much, but honestly i EAT when I;m hungry, I am NOT starving myself. And so fat (its been about two weeks) 1200- 1500 calories is working for me. Some days I’ll go up to 1700, but I try and stay in a lower range.

I honestly don’t think 1200 calories is dangerous if you do it with a healthy mentality. I know that if I was eating, even 2000 calories, right now I would probably just barely be maintaining my weight.

I am 5 feet 6 inches tall as well.

Anyway Tina, I do REALLY appreciate you showing that we CAN eat loads and not gain, but even lose weight. But I just wanted to point out how you are living a VERY active lifestyle right now, and that it is okay for those, like me, to eat 1200-1500 if trying to lose weight without any exercise.

    • Aimee says:

edit ******I was very wary of eating so little

    • Tina says:

That is why I tried to emphasize that every body is different and that, activity does play a role too. I mainly wanted to express that we should fuel our bodies and not go hungry all for the sake of some calorie count. That we shouldn’t fear pushing the limits on how much we eat and can maintain our weights/fitness/etc. It’s always best to get as much nutrition in as we can with a balanced diet. I never hope that comes across as if you do eat 1500 calories, you are wrong or anything of that nature. I don’t think that way in the least. I simply hope we all can feed our bodies what they need. 🙂

  33. I love this post. I have found the same thing with my body, and I think you are a great role model for everyone who is reading your blog. 🙂

  34. I love this post and your attitude toward food. When I get hungry in the afternoon I always feel like I need to put it off until dinner and try to restrict snacks. Lately I feel like if my body is telling me that its hungry then it needs fuel and when I listen to my body I feel better all around. Your post just reassured my gut instinct on this and I am happy to say I am an eater and I love food and eating, but I love eating the right kinds of food and you are such an inspiration!

  35. I read this earlier on my phone but it wouldn’t let me comment 🙁
I LOVE this post!! I think it’s fascinating to see how many calories are in each meal, not to actually count them for restriction purposes as is usually the case when nutritional info is given, but to see what’s normal and healthy.
I must do this some day, I have a feeling my calorie intake would be alot more than that some days…ie today!haha!

  36. Amy says:

What an awesome post! You are an inspiration to anyone who is questioning the value of diet and exercise

  37. I ate 1200 calories a day for about six months. Hell. It’s SO LITTLE FOOD. I know not everyone has a metabolism that can handle 2,000 calories, but 1,200 is definitely not enough. I had my basal calorie rate done by a nutrtitionist and i learned that if I literally didn’t move all day, my body would still need 1400 calories to function without losing weight!

    • Tina says:

I think that’s why I love you and your blog so much. You EAT! You eat well and balanced and obviously have a good handle on maintaining a great, fit physique while living and enjoying life and food. <3 you!

  38. I love this post Tina, because it shows what a healthy woman actually eats like! 1200 calorie diet is just unrealistic & unhealthy if you’re active. You can reach your fitness goals & still eat well. Thanks for being an inspiration! 🙂

I never measure my meals, I find calorie counting tedious. I stick to the following rule: Eat whole foods, mostly plants. It works for me, I feel great, I’m happy with that.

    I watched the Bachelorette & it’s official, I’m in love w/ JP!

  39. Love you Tina and this post. You are such an inspiration and it’s so refreshing to see what a healthy, fit, inspiring woman eats – all while achieving her Body After Baby. During my disordered eating days I would eat about 1,000-1,200 calories so it saddens me too when I see magazines emulating to eat that amount.

I’m now tracking my calories to be sure I’m getting enough with my activity since my periods have stopped and we want to try for a baby (no I’m not pregnant). It’s amazing how the body responds to stress and now more than ever I’m determined to honor it with respect. And fueling and resting it properly since getting my body and hormones ready in order to have a baby is the most important thing for me…finally my perspective is on how I feel and that I’m the best healthy I can be…not a number on the scale 🙂

    • Tina says:

I had to go through the same thing with eating more, working out less, gaining some weight, etc in order to conceive baby B. If you ever need a shoulder to lean on or an ear to vent to, I’m here for you! I know it can be hard mentally…even though it feels great and right at the same time too. 😉

      • Tina thank you so very much, you couldn’t have said it more perfectly. Yes it is hard mentally, and today I’m taking a rest day and it feels weird but great at the same time…I just can’t think about it and remind myself that we want a baby more than ever so I have to just suck it up and do it 🙂

I would actually love to email you to talk with you about it and will take you up on that offer…thank you so much 🙂

  40. Grecia says:

I do track my food using and online food diary. On the forums for this site, I see people posting things like “I can’t eat 1200 cals!” in which they claim that 1200 calories is just too much for their bodies and they can’t eat any more because they just don’t feel hungry. What do you think about this? Is it that they really aren’t hungry? Or is their body going into starvation mode? Any thoughts?

    • Tina says:

I’m not a doctor, but I find it hard to believe that a body truly isn’t hungry with that few calories. I know in the past I would learn how to “numb” the hunger with chewing gum, drinking a ton of water, etc to convince myself I wasn’t really hungry and didn’t want to eat. It became where I believed I didn’t need more food all in the name of having low cal counts. Also, when overexercising sometimes my hunger would feel blunted. That’s just my personal experience…but I think MOST bodies would be crying out and shutting down into starvation mode living off 1200 or fewer calories. Just my thoughts, though.

  41. I totally track my food. I’ve been doing it since January. It has worked WONDERS for me. It’s what works for me to stay on track. I use the loseit app on my iphone. Sometimes it’s a pain, but I have zero self control when it comes to food, so I need to track. In response to todays post (Wednesday) if I only ate 1200 calories, I would faint and die. Period. I have lost 21 pounds so far and I still eat close to 1800-2000 calories.

    • Tina says:

Amen to that! Tracking can be good to help with accountability and a good reference, especially if done the smart way fueling the body. You certainly combine the two well! 🙂

  42. G says:

Love this post! I had my body fat percentage measured at my gym recently and the trainer told me I need 1300 calories a day to maintain my current weight. I tracked my calories for fun for about a week and I eat on average about 2400 cals a day!! Yes my pants are currently a little bit tight so I should be eating a tad bit less, but I still think I would faint if I tried to eat 1300 for even a day! The trainer clearly did not take into account my activity level, my metabolism or any other important detail – horrible!

  43. I’ve tracked my calories on and off and while it does drive me crazy, it does help me figure out what I’m low on or too high on in regards to carbs, fat, and protein.
More recently, to keep myself in check, I just count meals and snacks. I calculate how many healthy meals I’ve had for the week and how many un healthy meals and snacks I’ve had. I try to keep a good balance not have the unhealthy outweigh the healthy. It’s a pretty simple and fast way to count, without getting too caught up with the numbers.

  44. Dani says:

I love this post. One weight loss website suggested that I eat 1300 calories per day for weight loss… there is no way I could eat that little!

  45. Allie says:

This is such a great post Tina! I totally agree that people can reach health goals by eating a healthy amount of foods! You are such a good example in the blog world as to what a healthy woman should eat 🙂

    You rock!

  46. Katherine says:

I love this post! There’s not enough focus on eating enough and listening to your body. I don’t like the notion of pinning yourself into a certain number of calories every day in order to lose weight. It’s all about listening to your body, eating healthy (and allowing treats in moderate proportion) and finding balance.

It’s an interesting experiment to see how much you eat in a day when you weigh it all and log it down though.

Thank you for writing this and displaying that you can EAT and be healthy and feel good!

  47. Khushboo says:

Love love this post and have bookmarked it for future reading. I used to be a serial tracker abd calorie counter and while it did help me reach my goals, I am not sure it helped me develop a healthy mindset. I was constantly trying to eat less and burn more. Fortunately I am eating for health now rather than calories and life is so much more enjoyable and not stressful. The thought of eating out would send me to crazy town because I wouldn’t be able to fully determine my meal’s calories. Some days the calorie counting mindset naturally does pop up but posts like this remind me to give such thoughts the boot. Thank you for your infinite optimism and encouragement!

  49. Tina,
I love that you showed us your typical day and it was not at all ‘restrictive’ or extremely low cal or anything.
Sometimes I read food blogs that eat salad 2x a day, and it makes me question my food choices..
I’m glad you are such a great role model for me. 🙂
You’re right that we need to fuel our bodies with what works for US!

If I had to estimate my calories I would say I eat close to 3000 a day. No wonder the scale won’t budge! But at least it’s not going up 🙂
