Month 7 Progress
Posted: August 8, 2011 at 4:00 pmAnother week. Another Monday. Another chance to take on the world. And another stellar strength training workout to get going for the week. Same thing as taking on the world, right? Maybe not, but I still find it a motivating kick-off to my week.

Since I only had strength training on plan for this morning and knew it would only take me around 35 minutes to complete, I opted out of having a small snack beforehand. I came home wanting to gnaw off my arm. This workout awoke the hunger beast, that’s for sure! In fact, it made me want something with more food than my typical oats. I whipped up an odd little combo including an over easy “dippy” egg…
…a grilled swiss cheese and jelly sandwich (if only I had brie!)…
…and a sliced apple. Chomping through all that food left my belly quite content. 🙂
And I’m sure you’re thinking “Okay. Okay. That sounds good, but get on with the progress update already!” Don’t let my mind reading powers scare you. They bring results after all…because here you are – Month 7 Progress!
As always, last month on the left and this month on the right…
As I mentioned in last month’s progress update, I have basically reached my “happy place”. I no longer actively seek to lose more baby weight or make significant progress from month to month. My goals now focus on maintaining my healthy habits and allowing my body to change or progress how it will through half marathon training, regular weights workouts, and everyday active living.
I don’t see huge changes, but I feel perfectly comfortable with that considering I listened to my body – pushing through some tough workouts or taking it easy for a week because I needed the break. All that’s not to say changes didn’t still happen. I gave up the scale so I don’t have progress to report there, but measurements all dropped a smidge.
Past Month Loss | Overall Loss | |
Waist (Narrowest) | - 0.25” | - 4.0” |
Waist (Belly Button) | - 0.75” | - 6.0” |
Hips | - 1.0” | - 5.5” |
Butt | - 0.5” | - 5.0” |
Thighs | - 0.5” each | - 3.25” each |
It just hit me that I have lost almost 24 inches off my body since February. That’s TWO FEET!!! Is that even possible? I think the photos (and tape measurer) say yes…
Even when things don’t seem to happen or when you feel off your game, the body can still do its thing if you care for it overall. I cannot stress enough the importance of consistency in my journey. I give any and all credit for my progress 100% to the desire to honor and respect the body God blessed me with as much as possible on a daily basis. Not a Monday through Friday basis. Not a for six weeks and then move on basis. On a daily basis.
That doesn’t mean each day I strive for perfection…that’s ridiculous and would only end with me in a mental hospital. It means that each day I work to listen to my body and treat it well – with food to nourish, activity to energize, rest to replenish, and love to live well. It’s something every single one of us can do. Take it day by day…and always include love for that body. It deserves it!
- What accomplishments have you seen with consistency in part of your life?
- What is your favorite kind of cheese? Do you even have to ask? Goat! Although I do love me some Swiss on sandwiches.

Wow you are so inspiring! Amazing
I agree–you are very inspiring! You have inspired me to get up off my rump and put in the work I need to do consistently to lose weight! You look great, Tina! You put in a lot of hard work and it shows! I can’t get over how much younger you look from last month to this. Is that odd? Is it your hair?
Haha! I think I was overly tired in the last month’s pictures. I remember not sleeping well that night.
YOU freaking ROCK.
Congrats on your awesome progress!! Hopefully, after February comes and goes and I’m on my own “post baby weight loss” journey, I can be just as successf!
I’m sure you will! 🙂
TWO FEET?? You are amazing!! You LOOK amazing and I LOVE how big your smile is in that pic – a proud, happy, content Tina! I totally totally totally agree re: consistency. I’ve learned that through the barre n9ne challenge and this round of half training – consistency has changed me in so many ways and it is the ONLY way to see true, real, long-term results.I’m convinced. GREAT job girlfriend, you are awesome!!!
Great progress over the past 7 months, Tina! You are a wonderful role model as to what consistency can do and also that you don’t have to go to an extreme to reach your happy place. 🙂
I think the biggest accomplishments in my life have come from a result of trying to be more consistent. For example – goal setting. I try to be more consistent with something for ONE month and that habit often sticks. Being positive about my life and my body and my situation is part of that as well, because I just decided one day that thinking miserable thoughts about myself was not an option and have consistently worked to remind myself that I’m awesome.
I just wrote a long post about being a mindful eater and exerciser and I’m hoping that’s my next accomplishment to being consistent.
Favorite cheese? Goat, followed closely by sharp cheddah!
Goat cheese is just a special love, huh? 😉
And I love that idea of focusing on one thing for a month because then it becomes a habit so you can keep it up and choose somethign new to pick up. That’s so true!
You look FABulous and I’m glad you’re feeling great, too!
I know you didn’t use one, but have you heard of those tummy wraps or hip wraps for post pregnancy? What do you think about them? I feel like my hips have spread significantly, and since I already had wide hips, I’d like to rope them in a little post-baby.
Let’s just say I used one after M…it was super uncomfortable for the month or so I wore it regularly….and I’m fitter now after B than I was after her besides competition training. The body is pretty crazy at how it can change but then readapt.
Awesome progress! It does take consistency! There isn’t a quick fix to transform an unhealthy body into a healthy body. (Or even a post-baby body into a healthier body!)
Thanks for being an inspiration! My consistency this year has improved my running pace by almost 2:00! And I love feta!
Wow, you do look pretty phenomenal!! Of course! And very proud, as you should be! I have loved watching your journey and agree so much with consistency. That’s huge. High five hot stuff!!
You’re so inspiring! Congrats with your progress, your attitude is awesome, if I can maintain 1/4 of the positive attitude you have I will count myself a success 🙂
Tina you are amazing! I love your attitude and I love that you give the glory to God — He is the one who makes efforts like this possible!
Love the consistency, the attitude, and the fabulous progress.
Fave cheese(s): jarlsberg, asiago, feta
I don’t know if I have ever had jarlsberg cheese…especially since I have NO clue what it is. LOL
You look SO good! I can’t believe it has already been 7 months!!! You are such an inspiration!!! : )
My fav kind of cheese? Hmm…I would say either a super sharp cheddar, a really good authentic parm or my other beloved, gorgonzola.
Can you tell I love my cheese?
I think doing anything consistantly yields the best result, when I was looking for a new job I would check sites every single night. It was time consuming but so worth it in the end! My new job was only posted for 24 hours, had I not checked I wouldn’t have made this awesome change.
Random question but how do you think your body has changed, from pre kids, to post M and not to post baby B?
I think I am more fit now than I have ever been. Before M I struggled with binging off and on so much that I never really had a fit physique. I wasn’t very overweight but certainly not near as i in shape. Things have only gotten better with time…probably because I just get smarter and learn more.
Awesomeeee! As always, i hope to look that good 7 months from now. I am going to ease into it and hopefully get to a nice consistent state
I view it this way – you want to start as basic and minimal as possible so you always have room to progress and make changes. You are going to do GREAT!
You look fabulous! I hope that whenever I have children my hard work will pay off the way yours has! I think my favorite cheeses are swiss and mozzarella :). As for accomplishments, while I’m in grad school I definitely notice that I do better in my courses when I consistently keep up on the material as opposed to cramming it in before a project or test.
Inspirational, positive attitude, role model…what more can I say that hasn’t already been said? Way to go! 😀
WOW, you’re amazing, Tina! I especially love this:
“I give any and all credit for my progress 100% to the desire to honor and respect the body God blessed me with as much as possible on a daily basis.”
Such a great perspective, and it shows because you’re glowing from the inside out! 🙂
Fave cheese would have to be daiya mozzarella + cheddar because I’m trying to avoid dairy…and these vegan cheeses are lifesavers while I see how I feel without dairy! 🙂
seriously, like others said, WAY TO GO and great job! I love how you’re so well rounded in your thinking and help others strive for a healthier mindset. I love this, “That doesn’t mean each day I strive for perfection…that’s ridiculous and would only end with me in a mental hospital. It means that each day I work to listen to my body and treat it well – with food to nourish, activity to energize, rest to replenish, and love to live well.” These are all spot on.
And seriously…you’re looking amazing!!! have a beautiful day Tina!
I think “amazing” pretty much sums up your progress 🙂 You look fantastic!! I just love your infectious optimism and strength, thanks for the inspiration!
Congratulations on getting to your happy weight and being content with who you are and what you’ve done!
You have me inspiration to continue on my path back to my happy weight even when it gets hard. Reverting back to bad habits is easy, but it won’t get us where we want to go. Yeah for consistency!
Honoring God with my body is part of my motivation, too.
You look healthy and vibrant as usual, Tina!
I love workouts that wake up the hunger beast 🙂
You look AWESOME. Plain and simple. 🙂
You look great girl! 🙂 Excellent job! xoxo
You look amazing! And I love you…that’s all! 🙂
You look amazing :).
Tina, you never cease to inspire. You are awesome.
HOW do you NOT see huge changes?! I’m not talking about overall, either. Just in the last month comparison I can see a LOT of tightening! Look at your arms! Your midsection! Your THIGHS for Pete’s sake! WOMAN! You are shrinking. 😉
I don’t know why I don’t really see it in the pics…but I certainly feel it. I feel good. And you crack me up, Krys. 😀
you look AMAZING!! yay for God and the bodies He blesses us with 🙂
Woohoo hot mama!!! Way to rock that bikini my dear. You truly are an inspiration!
Tina, you look SO good. Great job on the progress:)
You look awesome!!!!
Tina, you look absolutely amazing and you got one rockin’ hot body! Throughout this journey, I love how you’ve shown us that it can be done without any deprivation – it was an approachable commitment to healthy living all while being able to enjoy and live life! 🙂
And I absolutely love what you said here: “It means that each day I work to listen to my body and treat it well – with food to nourish, activity to energize, rest to replenish, and love to live well.”
Love love that and I try to strive for that everyday with those same goals in mind. Congrats Tina on such an accomplishment and you’re so inspiring to us all! 🙂
Like you, the choice to honour and respect my body has given me the consistency of behaviour I was always striving for. The type you can’t find with self hate or weight loss fads.
Holy Moly, 2 feet!! Need I say it again? Your amazing Tina!
I LOVE that last quote you wrote about listening to your body. I believe that’s that only way to do it the right way 🙂
Wow Tina! You really have done a phenomenal job. You look fantastic. 🙂
Great job Tina, you look so happy and healthy!
Tina you are the hottest mom ever!!! Thank you for being such an inspiration! I can’t wait go through the same thing, I’m always up for a challenge 🙂
Girl you look AMAZING!!!!!!!
Dang girl! looking good hahah! You should be soo soo proud, your are inspriation 🙂
You look awesome!!!!!!
You look amazing!
I like goat and feta the best. I hate swiss (except laughing cow, i like that).
Laughing cow is my best friend. I think I should have put that as my fave cheese because I use their wedges in so much. They’re just so stinking versatile and flavorful!
Tina- you look ABSOLUTELY amazing! Congratulations! You always inspire me 🙂 and that looks like an awesome workout…I just might have to do that this week. 😛
You look amazing!
Congrats on your happy place Tina! ahhh and what a happy place it is! You’re such an AMAAAAAZING inspiration! to so so many people! love ya girly!

Tina…you look simply fantastic!!
You look incredible Tina! So fit and toned 🙂 It gives me motivation for losing my baby weight and I’m only 15 weeks. I also want to let you know that I think you looked pretty darn beautiful 7 months ago too! 🙂
