No, this isn’t another plyometrics post. Instead, its how I spent my late morning.

 IMGP0484

After this morning’s long run and tropical ice cream breakfast, I had to haul butt to a birthday party for one of Makenzie’s dear friends. First I have to get all emotional that my little girl is starting preschool on Monday. Now, I get to face the fact that our little ones are turning THREE this year. Sigh.

IMGP0488

Fall birthday madness began today. I don’t know why but there are a lot of fall birthdays around here for the little ones. We have party after party after party on our calendar. I don’t mind. It’s all fun and games to me. Including today’s party which was all about the jumparoos. Weeeee!!!

Is that what you call them? That’s what I used to call them growing up. Whatever they are called, it makes for some fun for toddlers and the parental units accompanying them. I had a great time watching Makenzie live it up with her friends and catching up with some of my friends as well. And meeting new ones – hi, Molly!!

And we clearly can’t forget the fun that comes in the form of cake.

oahlkandihoaihja. Speechless. That cake was amazing!!! Normally I could care less about the cake and just want a vehicle for the frosting to make it to my mouth. I think I could say that this was some of the best cake I have ever eaten. EVER! I loved every bite. Just like I loved these posts from this past week. Check them out if you missed them. It’s FFF Features time!

A few words come to mind when I think of these two ladies. Dedicated. Loving. Supportive. Encouraging. Genuine. Open. Fighters. Fit. Healthy. Motivating. Every post they write touches me in some way. I love hearing their running thoughts, their body image ponderings, and just experiencing their growth over the years I have read both their blogs. Love these ladies and I know you will too. Plus, they both face a half marathon together tomorrow, so give them some of the love and encouragement they pour out into the blogging community back. 🙂

  • What was your best moment this past week?
  • Which do you love more of – cake or frosting?

Cake…definitely. I hate frosting. I usually always scrape it off. When I was growing up if I got the end peice of the cake at a birthday party I wouldn’t eat.

  2. Jobo says:

Aww!! Tina, your words are so beautiful! I am touched, to say the least! I feel the love, like whoa, and hope to report back proudly and strongly!! Bring it!

  3. Errign says:

We call them moonbounces in New England! I’ll never forget being on one at a fair once and it got disconnected from it’s air supply thing and started to collapse down, like the do when they’re deflating. So scary!

    Frosttttinggggg.

  4. Was it just vanilla cake? It looks really good – great frosting to cake ratio!

  5. Yum I love when cake isnt covered in frosting…I am a cake girl through and through 🙂

  6. We just call them bounce houses down here!!

There were A LOT of summer birthday’s in B’s PreK class. Everyone kept asking me why I was going to so many birthday parties — and it’s because at least 80% of his class was born between May and August! We are NEVER doing that again though – this summer was IN-SANE.

Best moment of the week was hearing Dana Bowman speak (absolutely INCREDIBLE man)…and I definitely prefer frosting over cake.

  7. Anna Crouch says:

I can make a guess as to why there are lots of fall birthdays 🙂 9-10 months before was around new years eve…..hehehe Maybe that’s it

  8. lindsay says:

such great features and super excited for jess and jolene!!!! Go wish them luck now.. yea!!

    p.s.
cake for me has to have the right amount of both (icing and cake). the perfect BALANCE

  9. Jess says:

I heart you Tina!! You are so sweet and wrote such kind words about me and my sis. Well, guess what?? YOU, my dear, inspire me every single day. Your faith is so powerful and true, you are a beautiful and loving wife and mother and you are so fit and FAB, I just love it! I will be thinking of you and all of my twitter and bloggy buddies tomorrow, I’m feeling such love, it’s blown me away, in all honesty. <3

  10. I want cake – waaah! Stupid gluten.

  11. Congratulations on an awesome 9 miler!!! You are definitely an inspirational runner! I teach aerobics and this week my two dance classes (dance cardio party and Zumba) were just beyond fun!!! I had an endorphin high the rest of the day!!!

  12. Stephanie says:

Cake. Definitely cake. I often scrape off the icing and put it in the garbage. Sorry, sorry.

  13. The highlight of my week was starting my new job!! And I LOVE cake. Yellow cake to be exact with chocolate frosting.

  14. Hilary says:

Best moment? Seeing two friends I hadn’t seen in ages and being totally surprised and touched at their incredibly thoughtful early birthday gift. http://hungryhealthyhilary.com/2011/08/12/recipe-for-a-perfect-thursday/

Cake or frosting? Tough one. If it’s really good, homemade, not overly sweet frosting, then frosting. But if it’s storebought, really doesn’t do it for me.

  15. Cake or frosting…that’s seriously too difficult of a question! It’s really kind of a case-by-case thing for me. I’m not a huge fan of chocolate cake or white frosting, but I’m OBSESSED with yellow cake and chocolate frosting, so it depends on what we’re talking about. Obviously yellow cake + chocolate frosting = one extremely happy and satisfied Bethany 😉 haha

  16. I have the same bondi band 🙂 My best moment was biting into Chick fil-A this afternoon on my way to the beach for the week! haha

  17. Khushboo says:

Let’s trade – I’ll give you my frosting for your cake 🙂

  18. PRE-SCHOOL…..oh my goodness, I would get emotional too!! I am the same way about my frosting and cake:) I absolutely LOVED your post, “I am a runner!”

  19. Amy says:

It’s gotta be the frosting. It’s okay cos my sister is all about the cake and so we can demolish dessert together!
My favourite moment over the last week was spending an hour talking to my boy on Skype one night with no technical difficulties 🙂
My other favourite part was this afternoon when I frosted a cake to take to work tomorrow and I got to lick the bowl 🙂

  20. Unless it’s a cream cheese frosting, I’m all about the cake.

  21. Oh Tina, I miss you! I feel all over the place lately! Sounds like you’ve had a pretty great week with a perfect ending in the form of cake! I’m a cake girl, but if we are talking 7 minute icing…I’m an icing girl! I hope you’re having a great weekend!

  22. […] you all for your support, on Twitter, Facebook, email, texts galore, Tina’s beautiful feature, blog shout-outs from Heather and Lindsay and so many more of you. I feel blessed. “Run […]

  23. That place looks like a child’s dream land!
I’m not a huge cake lover either (unless it has awesome frosting) but every now then I’ll come by an amazing piece!
Hope you had a good weekend, Tina 🙂

  24. That looks like a super awesome birthday party!
