Happy Saturday! We finally made it. This past week drug on and on and on and on for me. I have a feeling every day and week will feel like that until I get to meet the little guy. I can only try to make the best of my time while I wait. Thank goodness I can work out again. I know that helps my sanity. I currently have my gym membership on hold, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been able to fit in some great workouts. In fact, I got my day started off with one today.

IMGP9713

Notice the sweaty goodness. I can still manage a strong workout, even at 9.5 months pregnant. Right now, I’ve been doing a mix of the following favorites:

Turbo Jam DVDs : 45 min on average : 1-2 x/week

I love these workouts! They are fun and easy enough to adapt to pregnancy. Simply keeping things low impact give me the perfect level of intensity. I’ve even posted a video of me doing a Turbo workout before on the blog.

Walks : 30 min typically : as often as the weather & schedules permit

Nothing beats a walk as a family in the afternoon. Peter & I can talk. Makenzie can get outdoors. The lazy bones dog can get some extra exercise. A great choice!

Cathe Low Impact Step DVD options : 45 min on average : 1x/week

Even low impact, the cardio premixes of these workouts can feel tough. I adapt it accordingly by doing the workout only 1x/week and keeping the movements smaller.

At-Home Lightweight Circuit Workouts or Slim in 6 DVD Circuit Workouts : 40 min on average : 1x/week

I still try to fit in some weight training. It’s more difficult than earlier in the pregnancy, when I would still regularly attend BodyPump classes, but I can choose from a variety of moves that remain comfortable. As long as I keep the weights light, things like lunges, squats, bicep curls, and triceps extensions work just fine. See one of my favorites I shared before here.

Over the past 2 weeks I have fit in 4-5 days of exercise each week. I make sure I never feel fatigued and also make sure to stretch daily. Hopefully it will help make getting back in shape post-baby easier, like it did after M. I’m grateful I only had to take about a month off of workouts, that’s for sure.

Question of the Day – What workouts are you currently loving?

  1. Oh, I am so happy you are able to work out again! I know how tough that was on you when you had to stop!!! Thanks for the list 🙂

  2. Sounds like a bunch of great workouts! That cardio party sounds like fun. 🙂

  3. Is the Cathe low impact circuit like step or easier circuit training? I am not good at step, but I LOVE circuit training. I hope B gets here soon!

    • Tina says:

Well the DVD has step and weights in a circuit, but I usually just do the premix of the cardio portion. It’s got a fun weight workout to it too though.

  4. Since the baby is used to your workouts, I hope Baby FFF doesn’t feel bored with the usual baby things like sleeping and eating. B will be ready for a workout too before long — lol.

  5. Look at you and your cute belly. <3 You look wonderful, Tina. 🙂

I'm loving getting back into running, and I'm going to be doing Body For Life again starting Monday! Woo hoo!!!

Keep being inspiring, Tina…this time next year, I'll be working on making baby #3! I'll be referring back to Tina Training. 😉

PS: LOVE Michele's comment above!!!! LOL

  6. chelsey says:

I think it’s crazy they say that pregnancy is 9 months.. umm hello it’s 10!!!!

Don’t forget, you’ll be going into labor by about 6 or 7 tonight! 🙂

    • Tina says:

I’m certain its a conspiracy theory so women will keep having babies! LOL

And I’m hoping you’re right with your predictions. 😉

  7. Allie says:

It is so inspiring how you aren’t lazy, AT ALL! I don’t know many pregnant women who work out at all while pregnant (even though they totally can). So it’s nice to see that you know how to push yourself in a safe and healthy way! It’s almost time for Baby B! Wahoo!! Have a great weekend 🙂

  8. Your baby belly is so cute! I’m sure you’re so sick of it by now, but oh my goodness that picture of you is great!! I love that you are working out 9.5 months pregnant. If that isn’t motivating, I don’t know what is!

  9. I’ve done Cathe’s workouts before and man, she DOES NOT play around!

  10. Great post to share with others who are expecting as well as those who aren’t that need a little bit of motivation. You look amazing!

  11. Camille says:

So the 48 hour baby-having meal didn’t work? Bummer 🙁
I am loving running. I always love running, to be fair, but after an injury I am finally getting my groove back and I love it 🙂

  12. Kat says:

Lady, I am so impressed by the amount of variation you’ve been working in right now!

I’m deadly boring when it comes to working out. I mean, I love running and the yoga DVDs I do, but beyond that, I can’t describe it as being particularly colorful. I’d love to try a Zumba class though – the dance thing sounds appealing, you know?

  13. Natalie says:

I currently love spinning, lifting, kickboxing, and running! I would like to do a little more yoga and stretching to balance things out a bit.

I love the variety in your workouts!

  14. Mandy says:

Aww you are so cute! 🙂

My current fav workouts: LIVE Turbokick class & running.

I really want to try some new weight workouts because I am soooo bored with the same ol’ lifting routines!

  15. I really love that you’re still getting in workouts. I love the cardio premix of Low Impact Circuit.

  16. Its so amazing you are still staying so active! I’m so happy for you!

I just got 2 core fusion dvds and I’m loving both of them!

  17. TINA you are a rockstar for keeping up with your workouts so far along in your pregnancy!! Go girlfriend!! 🙂

  18. Tina, what an inspiration you are! I feel like most women use pregnancy as an excuse to NOT workout! You are absolutely adorable in your maternity gym clothes!
I am currently loving the stair master. I actually have a love/hate relationship with it because it is so tough for me but I love the feeling I get when I finish up a sweat session on that machine.
Can’t wait to “meet” your little man! 🙂

    • Tina says:

Funnily enough those aren’t maternity gym clothes. They are just really stretchy regular clothes. My belly hangs out the bottom! LOL

  19. you’re such an inspiration! =) I wish I had your motivation!!!

  20. You make such an adorable pregnant woman!! You must be so ready to pop, though! I can’t wait to meet the little wee-one 🙂

Currently I love to run, spin, take my pup on walks, and lift free weights. I’m trying to get more into yoga/pilates, though… I’m in major need of some flexibility!

  21. Heather says:

i’m still a big fan of 30-day shred (the 20 minute workouts are amazing combined with walking and yoga!) but i would love to know where you got the Cathe DVD! i love her (you probably already know this, but still ;)) – and although i don’t have a step or anything like that i love adapting her workouts to whatever my needs are!

    • Tina says:

I’ve always ordered all my Cathe stuff through the cathe.com site or amazon. I usually get cardio things of hers when she has the pre-order deals. And that workout does use a step, but its a goody. 🙂

  22. I’ve been addicted to my Shred dvd more than usual this month. Really trying hard to up the weights to 8-lbs the whole way through! (although I’m still somewhat far from that happening, it’s still fun to keep trying!)

  23. Heather says:

You look so cute pregnant!!! I’m addicted to step – I teach is 2 to 3 times a week and I love it more every time. 🙂

  24. Wow, I am so impressed by all your workouts so close to your due date!! You’re my inspiration for my next pregnancy!

I just started P90X on Wednesday, and it’s kicking my butt so far (but in a good way 🙂 ). At first I didn’t think I was going to like it, but I’m actually enjoying the challenge. I needed to change up my workout routine and this seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Hope I continue to like it for the NEXT 86 days!

  25. Rach says:

Oh my golly, look at you go! 9 months pregnant and working out like a pro! So inspirational!

  26. Aww, aren’t you just the cutest little pregger!?

I am finally loving yoga…….I never understood it before thinking it was too slow but that slowness brings some serious intensity! Also, after a work out, the relaxation is AMAZING with my loose and stretched body.

  27. Ameena says:

You are a star for being so cheery and hanging in there towards the end of your pregnancy. I remember how hard those days were! I’m glad that you are keeping things business as usual because working out will definitely help you after the delivery.

Crossing my fingers that Baby makes an appearance soon!

  28. Priyanka says:

Faith you are an inspiration! I wish I can be as active as you are when I decide to be pregnant some day!

I am loving my arc trainer workout these days!

  29. andi says:

Tina, you are SUCH an inspiration, I hope you know that! sending lots of prayers your way for a healthy baby B to arrive soon! xox

  30. Heather says:

I’m sorry, but I just have to say how freakin’ adorable you look in the first pic! How awesome that you are still able to do the amount you do this close to the end of your pregnancy!

I joined Team HEAB for a bit of motivation for the first of the year. So far, I have done 4 out of the 5 workouts. Tomorrow is the 5th one…if I can make it! I haven’t been able to work out in months since I had a bad ankle sprain at the end of September. These workouts are reminding me just how out of shape I’ve gotten over the holidays! I do love the circuit theme of the workouts though…gets my heart a-pumping!

  31. Sandra says:

Everytime I visit your blog, Tina, I’m left with the feeling that I need to go for a run or lift some weights…I know that’s your point, but it cuts into my blogging. I can’t wait till you have that baby so you have to take it easy for a few weeks! 🙂 And you’ll be too sleep deprived!…ya, I bet that won’t affect you, but a lazy girl can hope 🙂 Take care!

  32. Wow, you are such an inspiration! I’m currently loving Zumba on the Wii. Its really fun and great cardio!

  33. amy says:

I’m currently loving spinning and trx but weights are my alltime favorite.

  34. Katie says:

I am impressed with your stretching abilities in the first picture while pregnant! 🙂

I love walks too, anything that gets me outside!

  35. I agree with all the comments about how inspiring you are, Tina. I wouldn’t be surprised if working out throughout your pregnancy not only helps you bounce back, but maybe even helps you during the actual birth.

I am enjoying getting back into a running routine. It is 5 below zero this morning, which makes me especially grateful for the track!! I am also having fun play Wii Fit games with my kids. 🙂

  36. I’m so impressed that you are still working out. And I check your blog every single day waiting to hear baby news!! Best of luck. Hope he comes soon!!

  37. I don’t think I’ll be working out this week, but I have been enjoying taking classes at the gym. Spinning, bootcamp, and toning classes. And you know I love my running! Why is it when you’re injured that you feel like ALL you want to do it is workout?? I am dying to go for a run!

  38. Jess says:

I love how happy you are to be able to workout! With all of those workouts you’ve fit in, I’m surprised Baby B hasn’t made his big arrival yet! I mean, really. What’s he waiting for. 😉 For the record, I love Low Impact Circuit, an oldie but a goodie!! Let’s see – what am I digging right now? Surprisingly, the interval/speed work on the treadmill I gave a shot for the first time this week. I finally found a treadmill workout I didn’t hate!! And it works, like whoa 😉

  39. Anna says:

I am currently loving yoga. I am still experimenting with different instructors and finding what style I enjoy the most.
I hope this week goes faster for you along with an appearance of baby B 🙂

  40. You look SO adorable! I love these pictures and should bookmark this somewhere for when I am pregnant and using that as an excuse to sit on my lazy butt for nine months. 🙂

I just got back to America so I am pretty much just loving the GYM. I have taken Zumba a handful of times (ex-dancer) and I love it and just signed up for the instructor class! Really looking forward to that.

  42. Wow girl, good for you!!! You’re definitely going to be my inspiration when I become preggers 😉

(you look gorgeous too, by the way :))

  43. Melissa says:

Those are all new workouts to me so thanks for sharing:)
I love that you are getting your sweat on even being over 9 months..so inspiring!!

    You look great:)

  44. Jolene says:

Okay, wow, you are AMAZING! All the working out you are doing right now. I vow to be just like you if I ever have children 🙂 A-MAZING!! love it!! As for me, right now, I am in deep love with Cathe’s STS workout, finishing up the last weight phase. And also love her new stuff as well, HI-Reps and Total Body. Killers 🙂

It’s kind of funny. I become a certified personal trainer and the first workouts I turn to this week come from someone else. The book came in for me at the library last week and, after flipping through it, I couldn’t wait to give the circuits a go. Making The Cut includes a lot of […]
