Inappropriate

Oh, life. You can always make me laugh. And at the perfect times too. Today didn’t run quite as seamlessly as yesterday. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a bad day…but it had its moments.Handling two will certainly keep your hands full!

Thank goodness for nap times, a cup of hot Sugar Cookie tea, and some random humor to lighten the mood through the day. And sometimes slightly inappropriate humor is exactly what you need.

Like this teething toy we received for baby B. Looks innocent enough, no?

 IMGP9842

Well, thanks to M’s playing, I found out today that it vibrates. While I know its meant for soothing a baby’s gums I can’t help but chuckle that it could totally be sold as something else. I’m just glad they didn’t pick a cherry as their fruit of choice! Or use a vegetable like a carrot or cucumber. I should probably stop now.

Or how about M’s comment after I got out of the shower this morning? As I was drying off she looked up at me and told me “Mommy has big boobies”. Then proceeded with “Baby Braedon has looooottttssss of milk. He drinks Mommy’s boobies”. Nice. Perhaps I should have explained breastfeeding to her differently?

Remember this quote I posted this morning?

When I originally searched “do your best quotes” in Google Images…I got a bunch of pictures of women’s thong-dressed bottoms. How does that even relate? I guess they did their best for their perky derrieres?

And then, when I decided to spend nap time leisurely reading blogs, I couldn’t help but laugh when I came across this as a word verification…

Sorry, word verification. This momma’s got one up on you. Just ask my daughter.

Question of the Evening – What random humor did you encounter recently?

And keep any additional Q’s you have about breastfeeding coming! Got some great ones from you in the last post’s comments.

Well, I am still LOL at the vibrating teether! And I love when kids say it like it is.

This weekend the Garrison Keilor Prarie Home Companion radio show was the “joke” show. I laughed at every dumb joke. But it is so good to laugh!

  2. Mandy says:

buaahahahhaa!!!!! Hilarious. Oh, the things kids say. Bella likes to comment on my “boobies” too everyday when I get out of the shower LOL (only they are not so big anymore haha)

    • Tina says:

You know me. I can’t wait for them to not be so big anymore. Then we can talk about the puppy dog ears thing together again. LOL

  3. Melodie says:

Sounds like it was quite the funny day! I end up with random humor everyday where I work. The guys in my office are quite goofy 🙂

One of my friends who had recently had a baby was taking a shower and her 3 year old opened the shower curtain and said, Mommy, I hope one day I have a really big bottom like you! 🙂 Bless.

Kids say the funniest things!!!!!! Your little M is SO adorable!

  4. My random humor comes through the boys and the silly stuff they do. They are old enough now to say and do things that they think are cool, but we did them so long ago…I have to tell them that we already did that…it’s not new.

I am glad you found some humor in your day. Love the teether. The stuff companies come up with.

    Have a good day Tina!

  5. Allie says:

This post seriously made me laugh out loud 🙂 Glad you see the humor in life… glad little M see’s it too HAHA !!

  6. I love that you have found humor in the little things of life.

This wasn’t humorous per say at the moment, but last week I was a klutz and reached over to pick something up, and my chin whacked the edge of our stainless steel trash can. For the next 3 days, I walked around with a black and blue chin.

    Just call me Grace.

  7. Lindsay says:

breastfeeding question…what sports bra do you wear when nursing and doing high impact cardio? I as well had some rather large ones while breastfeeding my first (34F) and would just wear 3 sports bras, not too comfy. This time i want to find something better even if it is more expensive. I think its completely different running with big boobs vs running with big milk filled boobs so only a nursing mom would know! The nursing sports bra was a joke!

    • Tina says:

I actually just doubled up sports bras too. I have always heard great things about the lululemon tata tamer but its so $$$. Guess it could be worth the investment for one for higher impact days?

  8. I laughed at the vibrating strawberry!!! What a riot.

When I read the title I thought of an old SNL skit — where they would show little scenes and then a random guy would jump in front of the camera and yell “INAPPROPRIATE!” in a really strong fake English accent and metal guitars would play in the background. It is hard to explain, but it was hilarious I promise 🙂

  9. Stephanie says:

Hah! This was so funny! Is vibrating supposed to help with teething? LOVE the inappropriate things kiddos say because they have no clue what they’re saying is inappropriate!

  10. Haha this post made me crack up!

  11. Samantha says:

Not only was the inappropriate humor hilarious but when I scrolled down to the bottom of your post there were 69 comments.

For the record, I spit water out onto my work computer….

  12. haha, this is too funny. It seems like once you find one thing, you find lots to laugh about!

  13. Inappropriately humor at the most appropriate times can be one of the best remedies for life 🙂

  14. Ohmigosh! Girl, you CRACKED ME UP this morning!! Thanks for the belly laughs!!! 🙂

I can totally relate on your little girl’s statements. Hailey misses her Mommy & Me showers — a lot. I stopped having them because I was washing my legs one night and she started flapping the girls around and asking what they were. Yeah, it was time to stop. I’ve allowed them twice since then on mere time constraints and pure laziness really…she didnt say anything or do anything inappropriate..i think probably because she missed it so much she didnt want to mess it up. HA!

Hope you have a good and blessed day.

  15. Hahahah I love kids!!! They always say exactly what is on their mind!!!

  16. hahaha I love days like that when random funny things happen.
Love the vibrating strawberry though. Thats um . . . creative? 🙂

When my friend was pregnant, her son asked her why her belly was so big so she explained the whole deal to him. Then he sat and thought for a second and said “well then whats growing in your butt?”
    Kids are awesome.

  17. My niece went through a “boobie” stage around M’s age– it was so funny and kind of embarrassing in public!

  18. Sarah says:

I love little kids! M is ridiculously cute with those lovely statements. I was similar to M when I was her age, my mother always told me I had a very blunt mouth for a little girl!

  19. You know whats funny – my son who was 2 when Bella was born never even asked about me breastfeeding or what I was doing…maybe girls are more interested in that kind of stuff?

Mason (my 3.5 year old) finished his plate of food the other night…and said “Mommy, I made a happy plate, you must be so proud”. I totally cracked up!

  20. Rach says:

    Hahaha! Love it!

  21. Lisa Jordan says:

I showed and read this post to your Dad and we both laughed out loud together. i’ve never seen one of those teethers before. Little Miss M is quite observant, too. I love Baby B and Miss M so much!!!!!!!!!

  22. Melissa says:

I love how innocent the little ones can be!!
That’s hilarious about the teething toy..HA!
