No Clue

I had no clue what to title this post, so I just went with “No Clue”. Don’t you just love my creative genius? *cough* Yet again, I need the sarcasm font that is yet to exist.

So, did you all have a fabulous weekend? We sure enjoyed ourselves around these parts! It’s amazing what a social life and some sunshine can do for a person.

Some of our good friends invited us over for dinner on Saturday night. I could not turn down a chance to get out and enjoy the company of some of my closest pals.

IMGP9930

It was a full house with us girls, the husbands, and the four kiddos. In my opinion, a house full of friends is never a bad thing. Just like dinner cooked by my friend Angie is never a bad thing. She prepared a wonderful salad and pasta dinner for us.

IMGP9921 IMGP9922

What goes better with salad, pasta, and a Saturday night than a small glass of wine?

IMGP9916

Nothing. That’s what I say. Well…except for maybe a small plate of dessert…

IMGP9926

Lemon curd pie and a “magic cookie bar”. They’re magic because they’re super duper healthy! I like to play pretend like all of our little ones too. 😉

Today the good stuff continued. We went to church in the morning, with plenty of time to spare. It felt nice to go unrushed. The afternoon continued much in the same calm demeanor. I leisurely went grocery shopping without children. Then, took in some sunshine and 70 degree temps with the family.

IMGP9934 IMGP9935

The park!!! I have missed the park. Free and fun family entertainment? My kind of way to spend the afternoon. And the perfect way to break up the ickiness of January and February.

It felt incredible to get outside. What’s that you say? Oh. Rain tomorrow. Well at least we got out while we could!

Question of the Evening – Did you get to enjoy nice weather this weekend?

  1. Looks like you had a wonderful weekend! I’m so jealous of those temps! It’s 20 degrees here and we are gearing up for a major storm this week!

  2. Erica says:

Such a great dinner with friends. The Lemon curd pie looks just awesome. YES! The weather was fantastic today. I can’t wait for spring 🙂

  3. I took advantage of the *warmer* weather in Brooklyn and went running in the park. Can’t WAIT till it’s warmer!

  4. Dorry says:

Glad you had a great weekend! I love dinners with friends – dining out is nice, but I prefer being at someone’s house. We had incredible weather in Dallas this weekend and spent a lot of time outside at the park, riding bikes, etc. Loved every minute. I think we have some freezing rain in our forecast…

  5. Kathleen says:

Sounds like a really nice weekend. We’ve had lots of fog and now rain in Northern CA. I love walking to the park on beautiful day, but couch time with movies is a pretty fun way to spend a rainy weekend too.

  6. Robyn says:

Lucky for you to have a warm sunny weekend! Yesterday was a beautiful 25 degrees with no wind. It was nice! Last night the cold front came rolling in it was 8 when I got up at 5:45 am, 5 when I headed outside to do chores at 6:45 am and now at 4:30 pm it is 1 degree. Oh and it has been snowing all day. The weather man is calling or highs below zero at least 2 days this week.

  7. Sounds like a great evening and even better Sunday out. There’s just something so special about those unseasonably warm days just before spring that help renew and re-energize the soul.

  8. Lauren says:

Sounds like a great weekend! We did have warmer weather here for January in Vermont. It was in the 30s, which felt warm after having ridiculous cold days of below zero all day.

  9. I love every time that you post pictures of the baby…so cute!

  10. We had great weather here in Denver this weekend. I am so ready for Spring. Warm weather makes me feel alive again, it was so nice to drive with the windows down and sit outside and read. 🙂

  11. No, it rained all morning/afternoon out of the blue. Rainy Sundays are the worst! I stayed in to get work done.

  12. Camille says:

Hey! I bet it’s fun to be able to drink wine again!

  13. Sarah R says:

I agreed with the comment about the sunshine lifting your spirits. I can see how some people are susceptible to SAD. Totally jealous of your nice weather. It’s barely made it above freezing here and we’re staring in the face of another blizzard this week. When does spring arrive?!

  14. I totally agree with you about a social life and sunshine. I have been sick and it was so nice to get out and hand with the some friends 🙂

  15. Angela says:

Sadly the weather wasn’t exactly “nice” here this weekend – lots of wet sticky snow! But it looks like you had a great time, and a delicious meal too! Have a great night Tina!

  16. Melie says:

This looks like a perfect weekend 🙂 In LA it’s raining. We had perfect 27 degrees (celsius) weather the entire week that I had to work and it started raining the moment the weekend arrived. How annoying!

  17. It warmed up a bit this weekend which was awesome – well, if you call 30 degrees warm. We’re getting hit with a mega blizzard Monday through Wednesday though so its not staying long!

The sun looks good on you! 🙂

  18. Yayyyy so glad y’all got to enjoy the beautiful weather the south was having. We were able to be outside a lot, too… love this stuff!

  19. 70 degrees?! Seriously, need to move south… I went for a ‘great weather’ run this morning. It was 20 degrees with only light snow falling. 🙂

  20. Well…we made it into the 30’s? And it only flurried a bit instead of the normal blizzard? Played outside a bit with the puppy, but that’s about as close as we got to enjoying it. I’d take your weather any day!

  21. Stephanie says:

Super fun weekend! I ran outside 4 miles..it was still only 25 degrees…but nice to get out there!

  22. Lemon curd pie sounds amazing. I had a piece of lemon buttermilk pie at a restaurant a while back that knocked my socks off!

  23. Helen says:

Our temps are great but we had rain all day. I love taking my boys to the park, the smiles that are on their faces are priceless…oh wait that would be when we go for fro-yo after as well!! It’s a tradition – I get a coffee (shop around corner from park, we walk) they play, we all get frozen yogurt. Now I am longing for the sun 🙂

  24. The weather was FANTASTIC here this weekend too. Just wish I could have taken advantage of it more. Stupid homework. :p

  25. Elaine says:

It was warm in Colorado this weekend too, and I loved it. Unfortunately the weatherman says it will be 6 degrees on Tuesday. DARN.

  26. Lee says:

It was so nice this weekend! Glad you were able to enjoy it.

  27. awww what a sweet and enjoyable moment you got with your babies 🙂 Awesome. Yes, here in SoCal we had beautiful weather all weekend. Sunny and breezy. Today it rained, but I personally enjoy rain so to me, it’s been great.

  28. what a sweet little family you had! glad you had a nice weekend.

  29. I love how M and Baby B’s outfits kind of match- CUTE!
Yes, I loved the weather this weekend- what a tease for spring though 🙂

  30. Therese says:

    A sarcasm font- genuis!

Kansas City did have nice weather this weekend, but I was stuck in a hospital working from 6:30am-7:30pm Fri, Sat, and Sun so didn’t get to enjoy it. Now I’m hunkering down for the 10 inches of snow we’re supposed to get tomorrow. Boo!

  31. I soaked in the sun this weekend in preparation for the coming snow looming in the forecast. Can spring hurry up?
Your weekend looks so lovely and one that is just pleasant for all the right reasons 🙂

  32. What a nice weekend!!! Im so jealous you were able to enjoy some outdoor time. It’s been way too cold here with lows of 20’s/30’s. We stayed in where it was warm.

  33. 70 degree weather? I’m jealous! It’s 28 degrees in Philly with snow all over the place!

  34. Kacy says:

Looks like a fab weekend! I enjoyed the nice weather while it lasted with a long run with Ms. Lisa and a night out Saturday. Then woke up on Sunday and it was 33 degrees and tomorrow we’re supposed to be getting a blizzard. Awesome.

  35. The weather in Richmond wasn’t as nice as Atlanta today, but we did enjoy leaving the jackets home while the sun was still out. And reading your blog with cute children and a few others, makes me wish I had a child to take to the park! Dogs really don’t play like children …

  36. Emily says:

I was so lame on Sunday afternoon. After a long weekend of spinning and running and running around I was so tired when the nice weather really hit that I just zonked out and spent some quality time with my book.

  37. Wasn’t the weather glorious?! So glad you and the fam got out and enjoyed it – I did as well!

Great pic of you and your buddies – love it!

  38. Welllll, I guess the sun WAS shining, but it was a bit chilly and the ground is covered in big mounds of white stuff. We didn’t really get out to play, but we did make it to church & to our Sunday dinner at mom’s. So all is good. 🙂

  39. […] Dinner With Friends & A Day at the Park […]

  40. It looks like you had an amazing weekend with your family..I love bringing my girls to the park!
