Under the Palms

And while I don't deny I wouldn't love being under some of these palms right now....

...I am even more inspired and thankful for the man that went walking through, over, and under palm fronds towards a calling that had to be scary to fulfill.

Today is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week in the Christian faith. Today was the day, years ago, when Jesus began the final leg of his journey to be sacrificed as the perfect offering for our sins. To give his life so that we may all be saved. I pray that you all consider that this upcoming week and all of the blessings that have been poured out for you, thanks to our beloved Jesus pouring out his blood for you. It is a message that brings me so so so much joy that I can't help but shout, or type, it out to all of you. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank God this week and share that love with others! Through a smile to a stranger, a hug to a neighbor, a loving comment to a friend, or other acts of service.

Last night, we continued the celebration of a wonderful day to serve God by having a great night of fellowship with a group of our friends. We all met for a cookout in the afternoon and a fun time was had by all.

The men spent time getting comfy with the grill.

The ladies spent time preparing the kitchen amidst laughter and conversation.

And a good beer. ๐Ÿ˜€

Lastly, all the little kiddos had a blast just being themselves and entertaining us.

It was a fabulous night! And if any of you from last night happen to be reading this right now, I pray that you know just how much I value your friendship and could not be blessed with better friends than each of you. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Did you do anything for Palm Sunday? We of course went to church for a great service. They did have a Palm Parade in the nursery for kids to participate in. M loved waving her palm!

  • What is your favorite way to spend time with friends?

I love the pictures! We went to church…that was about it. Palm Sunday is my mom’s favorite holiday, so I sad not to be with her. BUT, I did get so homesick thinking about her today that I booked a ticket home, lol!

We went to church this morning too. It was such a great service and I loved that the brought all the kids into it. So cute!

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend! xoxo

  3. Happy Palm Sunday, Tina!

  4. I am not Catholic but I do celebrate Passover by giving up something every year for lent. I gave up caffeinated softdrinks…red bull, amp etc… which are definitely one of my biggest vices. Your fellowship gathering looks like such a good time, cute pics and great food!

  5. Sounds like you had a good day. About that beer…was it any good?

  6. Great palm Sunday message ๐Ÿ™‚
Looks like everyone had a great time at the cookout. So blessed to have such a great group of friends! Have a great night, hun!

  7. I was so bummed that I couldn’t be at my home church for Palm Sunday ๐Ÿ™ My mom and I talked about finding a church down here in Florida, but we decided to have church together in our hotel room instead =) But you best believe I’ll be at my home church for Easter Sunday. I haven’t been there in a few weeks since I’ve been away, and I’m literally craving the fellowship I usually get every Sunday!

I love Palm Sunday! We used to march up and down the aisles with palms when I was a kid… I loved it!! ๐Ÿ™‚

What a beautiful post. I was on my bum for a course all day….and am feeling very, very conflicted about everything now…and also really, really full – surprise, surprise.
    But, forget that…
Great guest post on Healing’s site ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Sounds like you had a wonderful day!! So fun that you can all get together with the kiddos too – good times!

We didn’t do much today – just lounged around and prepped for the coming week. I can’t believe Easter is next weekend!

  11. love the pics!!! I am jewish so no palm sunday for me ๐Ÿ™‚ but it is the first night of passover tonight!

    • Tina says:

Sounds like fun! Passover is still something important to celebrate. Our church is actually doing a Passover dinner with a local sinagogue this Wednesday. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Krystal says:

i missed church due to having a sick baby at home. i was bummed. Logan got to do an easter egg hunt in sunday school, though, and hubby brought home some palm fronds, and a couple small crosses that had been woven out of palm fronds that parishioners were handing out.

  13. I love going to someone’s house and hanging out. It makes me happy.

  14. I wasn’t able to do anything special for Palm Sunday and was unable to make it to church due to my recovery but it has a special place in my heart! It’s also a good reminder that you can worship the Lord anytime, anywhere, even if you can’t make it to a church service.
    Love ya dear!

  15. Lindsey says:

I love spending ANY time with family and good friends! I love laid back atmospheres, such as a little get together at someone’s house with some good conversation, food, and some drinks! ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Melissa says:

Palm Sunday was always one of my favorite days to go to church. My mom would weave the palms into a nice ornament and then I’d hang it in my bedroom when we got home from church.
