Settling In

Wish you were here!

Although I promise to do my best to help you feel the ocean breeze blowing, the sun warming your skin, and the relaxation of beach fun. 😉

We have arrived safely and have already taken the time to settle in for our beach week. I really enjoy getting in town earlier in the day so we have time to fully unpack and get the place feeling a little more like home. I think I love that most about condos – the chance to have a little sense of home while on vacation.

We have a full kitchen and dining area…

…a cozy living area…

…and three bedrooms to share with my parents, brother, and sister. Unfortunately, we don’t get the king-size bed and privacy comfort of home.

But who cares? We’re at the beach!

After unpacking, we could hardly wait to pay a visit outdoors. Since we didn’t have much time, we kept to the pool for an afternoon dip. Immediately we found a crew from our family to swim and play with.

Gotta love cousins to entertain Makenzie!

And cute baby smiles…

I only stayed about an hour because I wanted to get groceries before our prompt dinner plans tonight. I think I appreciate the option to have my own groceries most out of all the comforts of home a condo offers. I loaded up on fresh fruit, veggies, oats, peanut butter, sandwich fixins, bars for easy snacks, and some other beach favorites.

Having healthier options available already makes me feel better about managing a nice balance on this vacation. That way I can have oats in the morning after the margarita that is calling my name tonight! Catch you all later. It’s time for dinner!!!

  • Pool or beach?

Looks like so much fun! I can’t believe how big those little tykes are getting and B looks super chill in the pool.

That’s my favorite thing about getting a condo or house at the beach as well – you can eat breakfast/lunch in, save some money and then dinner feels like a real treat.

p.s. Where did you get your bathing suit? It’s adorable.

  2. Most definitely pool. Too many places for sand to creep in when swimming at the beach. Although I do love walking on the beach.

  3. Talk about a CUTIE in those sunglasses!!! Adorable!

When I’m headed on vacation, a typical day for me is beach, THEN pool. That way, you get to rinse all the sand off but still enjoy some sun time 😎

Hope you’re having a blast, Tina!!

  4. Oh Heaven!

Pool or beach? Oh I like both equally but if I had to choose, it would be the beach.

Have a blast. Condo looks awesome.

  5. Beach, then pool. I hate being all sandy after the beach! Enjoy!

  6. Kathleen says:

Little kid sunglasses are the absolute best! Adorable… Have a wonderful beach vacation with your family.

  7. Beach! And I’m already jealous and I was just at the beach last week. I hope you guys have a really really great vacation. You deserve it

  8. Lee says:

I think I like the beach better but I really like it when you have the option of going to either. Have fun on your trip and enjoy that margarita!

  9. Ah looks so amazing! You will have to do a recap of your condo experience after your vacation is up (just in case you have a crazy internet stalker, ya know!) BC that condo looks amazing and beach even better!

  10. BEACH!!! i don’t mind the sand and i love how small i feel when i can look out and see the ocean reaching on forever 🙂

  11. Have a great time! I definitely enjoy the pool more for some reason. More relaxing to me.

  12. Looks like fun already!! I love that my parents own a condo at the beach so its super easy for summer visits there but when we go to other places I like having a condo as well. The kitchen really is key!!
I’m more of a beach person…love the sand under my toes!!! But a quick jump in the pool is always nice to cool off!

  13. Priyanka says:

That’s a tough one, I think beach for fun and pool to relax!

    cute pictures of baby M.

  14. Sarah R says:

I can already tell that your posts this week are going to make me miss my family’s beach vacations.

I hope you guys have a wonderful time!

  15. Beach over pool, definitely! But when both are an option, I usually go with beach first, then head back to the pool to “ease yourself back into reality” 😉

  16. We’re going to the beach next month. It’s a yearly thing. Pool or Beach? we do both but always the beach 1st thing every morning! It’s like my home away from home.

  17. Karen says:

I love seeing pictures of your little ones – they are so adorable! I like both the pool and the beach. I love the relaxation of the ocean waves and the breeze at the beach but I’m not really fond of ocean water. I love the pool because I could stay in the water for hours! It really is a tie for me : )

  18. Allison says:

I love both but i guess it depends on my mood, im not a chlorine fan so a salt water pool would be a good combo of the too! though nothing beats jumping around in the waves and surfing:)

And fyi, Im only an hour north of you! You should stop by st augustine on your way home:)

  19. Danica says:

pool for swimming, beach for lounging

that first picture is so incredibly beautiful!! enjoy your vacation!

  20. I love laying at the beach!

I’m glad you got there safely — and that condo looks perfect. I like being able to have my own food on vacation and not always rely on eating out.

    Have fun!

  21. Your place and that beach look fantastic! I am a total pool girl. I like to lie on the beach, but I’m not into saltwater and fish 🙂 Have a great trip!

  22. Camille says:

I’m def a beach girl- but the pool is less messy! 🙂 You guys look like you’re having a great time already so enjoy! You deserve it!

  23. Beach!! I don’t like to swim at either, but the beach is prettier 🙂

I’ve just been getting caught up on your last few posts…sorry I’m so behind!! I’m glad you’re following your dream in the “Hard to Write” post. If anyone can do it, it’s you 🙂

  24. Lizzie says:

    Beach. Everytime!!!

  25. Kristi says:

I love the pool a lot more than the beach. I like looking at beaches, but not the sandy/salt water part.

  26. Vanessa says:

Yay for vacation!!! I love your bikini!! It’s very cute. I need to get one. My family is going @ the end of July. I can’t wait(except I’m not bikini ready, but may never be) because it’s been 6yrs since we’ve went. The last time was when my older bro got married. We usually go every year, but the last 4 yrs we had to spend all the $ and time at hospitals due to my younger bro being sick and couldn’t find out why. But through the power of prayer(and Jesus answering them) he is 100%. So we are headed to the beach!!!! The best part is that my older bro has a 2yr old=fun, fun, fun. It will be one of the best weeks of my life being with everybody! Have fun! 🙂

    • Tina says:

That is SO great you get to enjoy a vacation as a family together this year. I know you will love every moment. You’ll have to tell me how it went. 🙂

  27. Jolene says:

Great condo!! Sounds like you will have the right mix of vacation with at-home comforts! you look great!

  28. Awesome! I got to stay in a condo last summer when I went to FL with some friends. It was so nice to be able to have fresh fruit and veggies and sandwiches to take to the beach with us. We saved the dinning out for dinner and saved so much money!

I LOVE the beach, but when it comes to swimming, I’ll take the pool!

  29. Karolina says:

I love walking on the beach, but I don’t like laying on a towel on the sand. If there’s a chair on the beach, I love it. The BEST is when you have both, and can go back and forth! I love having the kitchen option that the condo offers, so you don’t have to spend tons of money for expensive food that might not be the healthy option that you want. Condos are the way to go:) Have fun!!

  30. Aww we do have the same suit!!
