Say It To My Face
Posted: September 27, 2011 at 1:00 pmAfter yesterday’s posts about blogging content (part one and part two), I suddenly felt like I had been sucker-punched with a thought that crossed my mind.
I always say how important I value your thoughts and opinions. I always say that I want FFF to be a positive reading experience. I always say I want to build a community here to support one another, share discussion, and have some fun.
I had debated doing this, but I need to put my money where my mouth is and give you a true chance to share your feedback openly. I am open to constructive criticism. How often I post? How much I discuss certain topics? How I write? How my site works? I have methods I enjoy in my blogging, but I’m not set in my ways either.
As long as I'm blogging, sharing the things that matter to me, and building relationships, I will be happy. I can better myself as a blogger by accepting feedback on some of the details related to those overall things which fulfill me.
I will always stay true to myself – my interests and my values- but I also respect and value your opinions. I want to hear them. I’m giving you a chance to “say it to my face” so to speak.
So instead of a standard post, I ask you to please take a few very short minutes to fill out this 3 question survey. And for those of you sick of the blogging talk, I assure you this is the last of it for awhile. Thank you for your patience!!!
done, pretty mama. 🙂 and I think you’re smart for conducting a survey! blog writers need to know what their readers want.
I’ll play along, since you asked, but IMO you seem very happy with your blog and I think that’s what matters most. You have a huge readership and are making money on top of it, enjoying it all… sounds perfect to me:)
Thanks, Karen! I will always do what feels right for me and makes me happiest, but still love to hear feedback. Plus, some of the details that readers may care about may not impact how I feel writing, so I could accommodate without giving up my approach to blogging if that makes sense? Don’t worry! I’ll still be me and make sure I’m happy doing what I do. 🙂
Great idea, Tina! I did the survey, but I just want to tell you honestly, that I love your blog and all of the things you talk about. You keep things honest and interesting and really have a genuine respect for your readers! 🙂
What a great idea, Tina. Will be curious about the results! Sure they’ll be glowing though 😉
I took the survey! Thanks for giving readers the opportunity to offer their thoughts without feeling like they will be attacked for their opinions (and I don’t necessarily mean by you – but more often by other commenters). I just hope readers who do have criticism can offer it up like adults in a purely constructive manner and give you the same respect you’re showing for your readers by doing this.
took the survey! And though I know you’ll get great feedback, just remember what you always say about staying true to yourself and doing what makes you happy-your readers are important but they’ll enjoy reading what you like to write either way 😉
Considering how much time you spend writing great posts, of course I can fill it in – all done! 🙂
Every once in a while I will do a survey for my clients….I’ll tell you what, although a pain in the butt to create, it pays off in the long run. People know that their opinion matters, and you can improve on your business. Thanks!
Took the survey! It’s great you did this for us readers/bloggers, love that about you and your blog. You’re awesome girl 🙂
