Swoon

Hello all! Especially the couple of new readers/commenters that have been popping up in the last post or two. I am happy to hear from everyone. Speaking of which – does it seem like there are crickets chirping around the blogosphere lately? It just doesn’t seem as lively with people posting and, especially, commenting on blogs lately. I didn’t know if it was just me or what. I think it’s because summer is in the air. Not a bad thing in my book.

Many things have kept me occupied this week, that’s for sure. It may only be Wednesday, but I feel as though I have done enough for the entire week. Today I started off with a Kick class at the gym. It felt so good to be back. Then, I spent the day with a friend at her house. We planned on taking a walk with our kiddos, but the 98 degree weather quickly squelched that idea. I don’t care to die of heat stroke today, thankyaverymuch. I instead savored every moment of A/C at her place before I had to head home and pretend I was on a tropical isle. Without a dang margarita.

Swoon. Oh, what I would do for a tequila laden, salt-rimmed, tangy glass right about now. Well, I won’t harm my baby so I guess it’s all a moot point. I will simply spice things up in my life a different way.

With Mexican food, Edward, and Hot Tamales. Triple swoon!

Last night, as I mentioned, I had a ladies’ night with my mom and sister. We hit up a few things I was craving. First off would be Mexican. I told you – Mexican, BBQ, and Chinese will never lose their appeal during pregnancy. They call to me like those pesky sirens call to the seamen. I even “forgot” to eat my afternoon snack so my appetite would be suitable for Cheeky.I’ve told you before I’m in love. Instead of saying it again I will just provide the proof that jaws drop and drool flows at the sight of the beauty.

I had a taco trio plate with one fish, one crabcake, and one pork mango taco. I ate about 3/4 of each taco and most of my beans. I didn’t touch the rice. It wasn’t worthy of room in my stomach like the chips + salsa.

After dinner we had a bit of time to kill before going to see our movie. My mom mentioned wanting to break movie law!!!! get some Hot Tamales to bring with us to the movie.

I’m down with that. It would only be my 2nd favorite candy and sometimes you must use the whole pregnant-so-eat-for-two reasoning. Not every day mind you, but once in awhile is good for the soul. It’s gotta be in the Bible somewhere I tell you. And after having to stop at three different stores to find some, I certainly swooned.Yes we stopped at 3 stores because a gas station and the Target were out. Um, if you’ve been pregnant you understand the logic behind this.

Now it was time. Time….for Edward er, Eclipse.

I got swept away in the books before the movies existed and eat up the movies simply because they do such a good job of portraying the books. I also believe there is something innately sexy about Edward. Not Robert Pattinson, but the vampire. Only the vampire. It’s 100% the crazy intense passion and I think that is what draws me into these stories so much, as well as the intriguing characters and plots. You can say I’m a preteen little girl, but I like the series. So there. *stamps foot and sticks out tongue* I’m so mature. I guess it runs in the family. I’m off to celebrate my grandfather’s 89th birthday and he is not mature by any means. Ciao!

  • What is your favorite thing to snack on with a movie?
  • Do you enjoy the Twilight series? What is your favorite (or least favorite) thing about it?
  • Does the blog world seem quieter to you recently? I think we are all naturally taking breaks. I know I had mine!

  1. Yes… I definitely think the blog world has been quiet. I chalk it up to summer fever… 🙂 At least we’re all out there moving, right? he he

And I love me some swedish fish… best movie treat ever! Or nachos if we’re feeling wild…

  2. i love sour patch kids or gummy bears…YUMMMMMMMMMY! i like the twilight series, but still haven’t read the books yet. i have the first one though! and yes, the blog world seems crazy quiet, but i agree: we all need breaks! sending non-alcoholic marg thoughts your way 😉

  3. Morgan says:

Girl, I hear you on those pregnancy cravings. They are intense! Now you have me thinking of hot tamales 🙂 Those are one of my favorites, and sour patch kids. And twizzlers! I like chewy sweets.
LOVE Twilight. I read all of the books in a few days time. I just find that as the movies go on, Edward almost seems a little controlling of Bella.
Oh, and the blog world…quiet as can be! I’m glad to hear someone else to say that, I was getting paranoid that my blog was started to suck the big one!

  4. Kind of funny about the margarita, when my sister was pregnant, all she wanted were frozen fru drinks. Maybe everyone is vacationing their hearts out? I know that’s what I’d like to be doing! I never ever eat M&M’s except for at the theater. Good thing I don’t go to movies often 😉

  5. Lindsay says:

I’ve always loved snow caps at the movie theatre. You know those little chocolate chips covered in white sprinkles? I just love them. Can you believe I haven’t seen any of the Twilight movies?

  6. Mellissa says:

Movie snack of choice- Hot Tamales, Milk Duds or some Popcorn

As for Twlight- I loved the books but didn’t love the first two movies. I saw the 3rd one this weekend and thought it was better than the other two. For some reason I am on Team Jacob, he is just so darn sexy.

  7. I definitely agree that the blog world has been quieter of late but I definitely think it’s a summer thing. And that’s ok! I’ve been guilty of that myself.
I’ve missed your blog!!! I’ve been so out of the blogging loop.
I really loved Eclipse but i’m definitely on team Edward!

  8. I think with vacations and summer it’s just quiter! I’m still here there. I have a feeling once school starts back up I’ll be in cricketland again!

I LOVE eating Raisonets in movies. Thats definitely my thing.

Have you read anymore of the Sookie books? are you an eric or bill fan?

  9. Me-Linh says:

I love eating bananas and licorice during movies! Hot Tamales are wayyy tooo spicy for me. But Mexican food before a movie sounds great!

  10. homecookedem says:

Oh goodness, I’ve been eating for 2 a bit too much in the past week. Yikes. Need to slllloooooow it down!! My birthday then fourth of July… yeah… not good! 😉

I haven’t read the twilight books, but I did see the first movie. I didn’t see the 2nd, but then my friends asked me to go see the 3rd, so I figured why not! I liked it, but didn’t love it. We each got a different kind of candy for the movie from Target beforehand. I picked out skittles and my friends picked out twizzlers and peach rings. I think I ended up eating most of the twizzlers, so yummy!!

  11. I think we all are getting a chance to spend a little more time outside with the extra daylight which means less computer time. All in all a good thing, but I do find myself wishing I could check in more.
Favorite movie snack? Hmmm… Not really sure. I used to like getting red vines, but not sure I would like those anymore. I am definitely not a popcorn person.

  12. Mandy says:

Oh margaritas, how I heart you! LOL

I also think there is something super sexy about the vampire, Edward. however, the actor leaves much to be desired. I was such a Edward fan until I saw the movie and then Jacob had my vote haha!

  13. I love snacking on popcorn, but I prefer to bring my own 🙂

  14. I totally agree…about the sexiness of Edward. There is something about him…but I can’t seem to put my finger on exactly what it is! I LOVED Twilight…book 3 was definitely my favorite!!

  15. um, did I miss a pregancy annoucenement??? there have been a couple times this summer I’ve marked my entire google reader as “read” since it’s just been too full to manage, and I’m thinking a very important post of yours was in that batch! So….CONGRATS!!!! i’m so happy for you.

and now I really want tacos. in a bad way. and I’m not pregnant. can I stil give into cravings? 😉

  16. Holly says:

I loved Eclipse! Although….I felt myself being drawn more to Jacob for the first time. 🙂 It actually made me sick thinking about that given that he is not even legal yet. Sigh.

I do feel like the blog world is “dead” lately! But like you, I’m kind of glad, as that means everyone is out livin’ life and having fun. And blogging is fun, yes, but sometimes just being outside or having a picnic with friends takes precedent!

And you definitely deserve that snack! I agree about it being good for the soul. Have you heard of the study where they found that mothers who ate chocolate everyday of their pregnancies had happier babies? I don’t know about you, but I can DEFinitely see how that would be true. Happy mom = happy baby!

  17. I actually never eat during movies bc I get so distracted lol BUT I LOVE the twilight series and I completely, 100% understand your obsession with Edward. I honestly feel like I would leave my husbnad for him if in fact he was real. Scary. I know. hahahaha Oh I’m sick.

  18. I looooooove Twilight! 🙂 I haven’t seen the new moview yet but can’t wait!
Hmmm I like bringing in my own popcorn to the movies-I can’t stand to pay all that money and the smell is tooooo irresistable!
It HAS been quiet. I went on vacation last week and it seems so slow lately…maybe everyone is out enjoying there summer! Nice to take a break sometimes! 🙂

  19. Rachel says:

I love movie theatre pickles! I know that is so gross!

I’m not a Twilight person but I do LOVE LOVE LOVE Harry Potter. I can’t die happy until I see Universal Studios Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Blog world seems like it is chugging along to me! But I’ve only been around for a few months.

  20. I love those cookie dough-bite candies they have at the movie theatre!! I’ve only had them once or twice though, haha. I’m just not a huge fan of gummy/sour candies…

I’ve definitely noticed the blog world being a bit quieter. I personally haven’t been spending as much time reading other blogs :/ But you’re right…it’s a good thing that we’re all getting some relaxation and unplugging in our lives!

  21. Nichole says:

This is hysterical. I could eat Mexican all day long and I’m glad you went on a muy long tamale chase.

I wish I understood the Eclipse drama, but I will say you’ve given me a new insight into Team Edward.

  22. Yes, I guess it has been a little quiet in the blog world, maybe the heat is getting to everyone?? But oh my, that margarita looks incredible. Thanks for the eye candy!

  23. Nicole, RD says:

Haha, my husband always sneaks candy into movie theatres. He did it when we first started dating and I said, “You sure don’t try to hide the fact that you’re cheap, do you?” Some things don’t change. 🙂 I love the Twilight series! I loved the 3rd book…steamy! I can’t wait to see the movie! Hopefully this weekend!!!

  24. Jess says:

I’m a sucker for a good margarita – but stay away most of the time since they are sooo calorie-laden. But ohh so good 😉 I’m with you – it has felt a little quieter than normal in bloggy land…I think lots of people are taking disconnection breaks, not a bad thing, but I do miss the added chatter 😉

  25. Hi there! I love your blog – and congrats on the bambino. Your other little one is adorable!

I don’t do Twilight so I have nothing to add there – but I love some movie candy. How about Raisinets – I mean – really chocolate and raisins. And then there are reese cups – so deeelish.

  26. Jennifer says:

I have been thinking that same thing about the blog community. There’s a lot of people who I haven’t seen around lately. But I’m personally finding it a little hard to blog as much or find the energy to do it. I think it’s just because of it being Summer and everyone is just enjoying life. Hopefully they’re enjoying it outside in the beautiful weather!

  27. Sarah says:

I actually prefer to eat a meal while watching a movie; it feels like a big treat to me!
I agree that the blogosphere has been quieter during the summer months- including my own blog! I chalk it up to the freedom and relaxation that the summer air seems to bring.

  28. Susan says:

*raises hand* Total Twilight junkie here!! I went to see Eclipse with my sister last week and enjoyed it. Books are obviously better, but it’s always entertaining to see them played out on the big screen. I’m not so much enamoured by Edward, but just the intensity of the romance. Does that make sense??

And yes, the blog world has definitely been quieter. I agree that it’s a good thing. We can get back into it when it’s cold and dark at 5pm again 😉
