Yesterday defined a perfect weekend day for me. During the day I enjoyed a lot of free time, despite Peter off helping a friend on his car. I also still managed to accomplish a fair amount of to-dos. Then, I ended the afternoon and evening with a fun family night.
We had a Groupon for a pizza joint that we needed to use before it expired. So, last night we headed out to the Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta.
The Virginia Highlands occupies a small area of town and includes many beautiful craftsman style homes, delightful restaurants, and small shops to explore. We took awhile before eating to do just that.
Finally, fall is here! Yes, it is! 😀 I adored venturing out into the cool early evening hours. We headed into a few of the kitschy shops. I love little places like this!
Those magnets = the story of my life! How fitting for a blogging, fitness fanatic mother! 😉
We also stopped into a high class kitchen and fine foods shop called Bella Cucina. If I had money to spend I could do some serious damage in there. They have all sorts of amazing spreads, pesto, cute dishes, etc.
Can I please move that same setting to my back porch? Pretty please! And I think all of us can agree with their tagline…
Cropped right from a picture of their business card. Don’t you love it?
Now onto the good food. Of course, when you choose to dine on your favorite food at a place that knows how to prepare it you can expect good things. Everybody’s Pizza did not disappoint. We split a medium with spinach, mushrooms, onions, olives, and pepperoni.
Or more accurately, we split half of it and took the other half to go. I knew we needed to save stomach room for something special. I give you three guesses what but you will only need one.
Oh, yea. The perfect end to the perfect evening. I heart thee, Pumpkin Pie blizzard! And how you help watching UGA lose again go down a little easier. Le sigh.
- What was the highlight of your weekend?

OMG there is a pumpkin pie blizzard?! I. Must. Have. It. Fall in the Pacific Northwest means rain, rain, and more rain, so it’s nice to have pumpin pie/spice goodies to look forward to. 🙂
They sure do! And it is good. 😀
The highlight of my weekend is today, I have absolutely nothing to do, so I am relaxing with my husband and my dog. I may bake some Apple Scones later. Yummy.
Hey Tina!
The name of the devotional that I posted on my blog is “His Princess: Love Letters from Your King” and it’s by Sheri Rose Shepherd. I found mine at Barnes and Noble in the Spiritual section.
Thank you so much for sharing it. I will have to look for it. It sounds like a really good one.
Sounds like an awesome weekend. I love the magnet, too! I love love loooove pizza but have to go places where they make it cheese-free or make it at home (grill pizza is sooo good). Highlight of my weekend is a toss up between a night out with all of my best friends last night and an amazing run this morning 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your Sunday 🙂
Mmm that blizzard looks so yummy!
Highlight of my weekend: having my sister and her boyfriend be in town and take me out for dinner (Mexican food yumm). It was so nice seeing family after I’ve been away for them for a month at school! Ended my night with a Sex and the City marathon with my roommates. Perfect night:)
Mexican food with loved ones + Sex & the City with friends sounds about perfect. Glad you had a good weekend!
Pumpkin pie blizzard? Those exist?? I can’t believe I haven’t heard of them before! I might just have to go on over to DQ and pick one up tonight. 😉 I’m sick, so I’m allowed…right?
They do exist. 😀 Only for October though!
That looks like such a fun time! Im so happy to see that you got to try that pumpkin pie blizzard! I want one now! =)
I am going to have to re-create that blizzard at home! The wheels are turning now! I have already gone through so much pumpkin this season…and have no intention of slowing down!
My highlight is having a lazy Sunday behind its back to the grind tomorrow. 😉 Hope yours is going great!
I’m jealous of your pizza.
My highlight was grocery shopping alone 🙂 I got to take my time cruising Whole Foods, looking at whatever I want!
I love those magnets!!
I dont think I’ve had a Blizzard for YEARS! I dont know why, theyre amazing. 🙂
I hadn’t had one in years until we moved about 5-10 minutes away from one. LOL Now its a monthly treat.
Oh man, that Blizzard looks better than I pictured in my head…seriously! It sounds like a perfect outing with your family 🙂
Mm, those jars of jams look yummy!
Awww, I’m honored to be a blogger of the day!! 🙂 Thanks for the sweet words Tina!! You are such a sweet friend!! 🙂
I’ve never been to the highlands during the day. Only late at night with some drinks in me, haha! 😉 Looks like a lovely day!! I have got to get my hands on a DQ pumpkin pie blizzard!!
The highlight of my weekend was going on the hospital tour! It was so exciting and made it feel even more real!! 🙂
There is a DQ right by the hospital I’m delivering at. I will be sending people out for pumpkin pie blizzards, that looks so heavenly!
The highlight of my weekend was visiting blogger Shannon (http://mylessonstolearn.com/) and her adorable 11 day old little boy!
I saw that! And I bet it made you so anxious to meet yours. 🙂
You are so lucky I was not around cause I totally would have fought you, pregnancy and all for that blizzard! I love Virginia Highlands! It is so pretty there. The pizza looks amazing. I have never been there before. Enjoy your night Tina!
Have you ever had their salad pizza? The one with goat cheese is so good.
Nope. I was eying their salads but since we had the Groupon we got what we could share with it. I think Peter would laugh if I tried to convince him to share a goat cheese salad with him.
pumpkin is so abundant there, right! 🙂
Looks like such a fun evening! I love just walking around and poking my head into cute shops. But seriously, I’m very envious of that pumpkin pie blizzard. I need one ASAP. The highlight of my weekend was my run this morning. The weather was beautiful, and I really enjoyed myself!
That yellow magnet is exactly what I feel like I am facing entering the job market in 2 very short months! eek!! But it did make me laugh out loud!
It looks like y’all had a lovely evening out. 🙂
sounds like a fun day. Shops like that are fun to browse at 😉 sounds similar to the neighborhood we were at on Sat that had a small street festival. Hope you have a great night sweetie.
I love groupon! And that “kids are my cardio” thing is hilarious. I need to get my hands on a pumpkin pie blizzard!!
The highlight of my weekend was making the BEST banana bread of my life. I keep nibbling it as I pass through the kitchen.
Now, that’s a highlight!!!
i love that “my kids are my cardio” sign! i know so many mommies who need that 🙂
the best part of my weekend is right now…watching a funny movie with my husband. i’m glad to finally be able to think about something other than what’s going on with my family.
Don’t you freaking love Groupon? It has saved date night in our household! Glad you had a nice time out =)
Adore Groupon!!! It helps us get out more too. And find new places to try, which I love.
That pic of your hubby and M is just adorable!!! I love kitschy little shops like that – handmade product is where it’s at.
The highlight of my weekend was finishing the book I’ve been reading for about three weeks. Even though I really enjoyed it, to finish was such a relief!!
You definitely look like you guys had an amazing weekend! The highlight of ours? Definitely the lovely dinner party we put on for a few friends! I’m glad the rain stayed away!
I need some pumpkin in my life but ice creme? I cant even comprehend that 🙂
Jealous 🙁 I’ve yet to get one but never fear…pumpkin blizzard will be mine. Mwahahahaha!
Would you believe that my candy corn supply is STILL untouched?!? Who am I?
My goodness! What is WRONG with you??? LOL That is sheer madness and not the Heather I know. 😉
The highlight of my weekend was finishing putting up the mural in baby girls room. Her room is now done (well we still need a dreser).
Also I want that pumpkin blizzard!! I might be making a stop on the way home.
I missed reading you blog, but now I’m back! weekend was whirlwind fun in Brussels so that was definitely the highlight of the whole month 😀
Ahh what a lovely day! I love the magnets, how cute are they?!
and ummm, yes please to pizza and the oreo blizzard! YUM! 🙂
