a whole bunch of stuff you likely didn’t care to know

Posted: October 22, 2010 at 11:00 am

Is it just me, or did this week go by incredibly fast? I can hardly believe it is already Friday! That’s one of those great feelings, huh? We have a fun weekend ahead of us with a fall party with friends and a drive to a little town in North GA as another tradition. I seriously LOVE this time of year!

Earlier this week, Gracie posted a fun post using an old school MySpace survey. Even though I never had a MySpace page, I still loved the idea and think it fits perfectly for a fun Friday post. So, here we go!

Is there anybody you just wish would fall off the planet? Not really. I don’t hate on people that much.

How do you flush the toilet in public? With my hand, but then proceed to wash well. I’m not too germaphobic.

Do you wear your seatbelt in the car? Always! C’mon now. One of my biggest (irrational) fears is that one day I will get in a terrible wreck. I have had “premonitions” about one for years.

Do you have a crush on someone? My husband. He’s pretty awesome.

mepeter

Name one thing you worry about running out of. Toilet paper. I hate that! And it happened last week.

What famous person do you (or other people) think you resemble? I have heard Jamie Pressley numerous times…but that’s when I had blonde hair. I don’t know if I see it really.

What is your favorite pizza topping? I prefer plain cheese or lots of veggies. Mushrooms are my favorite part of the veggie topping though.

Do you crack your knuckles? No!! The sound drives me crazy.

What song do you hate the most. That Cha-Cha song they play at weddings, dances, and things. HATE!

Did just mentioning that song make it get stuck in your head? No. I hate it that much that I refuse to allow it space in my brain.

What are your super powers? I grow people. I have always wanted one of those CafePress shirts!

Peppermint or spearmint? Peppermint. Only peppermint.

Where are your car keys? In my purse. Please don’t steal my car, though. I need that outlet to the outside world, people!

Whose answers to this questionnaire do you want to hear? Everyone’s! I love learning random crapola about my friends.

What's your most annoying habit? Peter would likely say how I have selective hearing…especially when on the computer. Yea, that can be annoying I bet.

Where did you last go on vacation? Philadelphia for my friend’s wedding.

What is your best physical feature? I think either my eyes or my legs.

What 3 things can always be found in your refrigerator? Milk, a jug of water to refill my water bottle, eggs.

What superstition do you believe/practice? I don’t believe it but I will always blow a kiss and “wish” when I see a clock at 11:11. Thanks, mom!

What color are your bed sheets? Why do you want to know? That’s a very odd question weird MySpace survey writer. If you must know, cream.

Would you rather be a fish or a bird? Bird. I think it would be cool to fly.

Do you talk on your cell phone when you drive? Yes. It’s about the only free chance I get to talk to people on the phone.

What are your favorite sayings? Bible verses. I know their truth and they inspire me most.

What song(s) do you sing most often in the shower? ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle. I shower with a 2 year old, remember?

If you could go back or forward in time, where would you go? I’m tempted to say forward to see what my life will be like and if I’ll be doing the things I think and hope to do. But that’s no fun for living is it?

What is your favorite Harrison Ford movie? I don’t know. Next question.

How many kids do you plan on having? TWO!!! Two two two two two two two. Do I make myself clear?

If you could kiss anyone who would it be? That hot guy at my gym. Oh, yummy!
Who are you kidding? My husband!!! Besides, when I go to the gym its all other mommies anyways. Darn.

What do you do when no one is watching? Savor the moment because that means I actually have a moment to myself.

Would you rather die in a blaze of glory or peacefully in your sleep? Peacefully because hopefully that means a longer life.

Coffee or Tea Depends on the situation and time of day. Coffee in the morning, tea for relaxing at night.

Favorite musician(s)/bands you've seen in concert? Aerosmith and Bon Jovi.

P1080532

Have you ever been in love? Yes. Three times. Once with the on/off again ex, once with Peter, and once with Makenzie. Soon to be four once B arrives.

Do you talk to yourself? How else do you think I get my crazy out? Oh yea….here to all of you. 😉

Okay. THAT took much longer than I expected. Kudos to you if you read through all of it! Now, I hope you pick any of the questions above and answer in the comments below. I want to know more about ya my lovely friends. For the record, I don’t say blends. You all are my friends…not to be categorized. Just friends. Happy Friday!!!

  • Let me know something random about you!
  • Fun plans for the weekend?
  • Don’t forget to ASK ME ANYTHING for the Q + A series in November!

Sometimes I wish life would speed up, that I could skip certain things (ex: “Can it be Sunday now???”). But then I have to remind myself that if I got that wish granted, I would miss out on a lot of important stuff.

To answer the weekend Q, tonight I’m working and then going bowling with the JH kids! Although I’m still debating if I’ll actually bowl, or if I’ll just watch and hang out.
Then tomorrow we’re going on a college visit for my sister, and then some shopping. And tomorrow night I get to hang out with some church people. (I think. I have to double check.)
On Sunday, I’m running screen both services at church (which means being at church for at least four hours, which is fine), and then after church I’m hanging out with a BFF I haven’t seen in like a month! She’s home on a break from school. 🙂 Oh, and Sunday night is hang-out time with the Freshman girls! 😀

  2. Jenna says:

Granted I don’t know you personally–but from pictures I’ve seen on your blog, you totally look like Jamie!
    Have a great weekend. =)

  3. Jenna says:

. . . and I always like to sing Handel’s Messiah in the shower.

  4. “I can grow people” LOL so funny! Cute post – I heart Aerosmith too but have yet to see them live lucky lady! I hate running out of TP too and the question about the bedsheet color is truly bizarre!!

Random about moi? Hmmm I was once on the side of a bus at Auburn University as part of a “summers at auburn” ad campaign. I actually still see myself on a few buses to this day. LOL

    • Tina says:

That’s so crazy! How fun though, you model you. 🙂 Have a great weekend. I’m sure you will since you always do such fun things.

  5. Holly says:

I love reading these surveys!! And I LOVE that shirt. I wish I had THAT super power. 😉

I definitely see the resemblance between you and Jamie – you are both so beautiful!

Something random about me….I would LOVE to have 3 or 4 (or 5?) kids. I know everyone says I’ll probably change my mind when I get there, but for now, I’m stickin’ to it! (I used to want 6, so this is progress).

  6. I always find these survey’s a little strange. I am not sure anyone needs to know that much about me and my (sometimes strange) habits. hahaha

  7. Natalie says:

I always make a wish when the clock hits 11:11 too! And I totally think you look like Jamie Pressley!

  8. Hehehehe I love these. And my husband is OBSESSED with Jamie Pressley. He thinks she is so hot. And you definitely look like her!

  9. I love those random surveys!

  10. I love those random surveys! But when I used to do them, I’d stress so much about the answers that it would give me anxiety and I’d never post them… haha! now I put everything I think out there for the (online) world!

    • Tina says:

Probably from being more mature and confident in yourself. Back in MySpace days, I’m sure its all “oh my goodness…what WILL people X, Y, and Z think if I say that???”

      Bloggers are cooler anyways. 😀

  11. This is so funny! Back in the days of livejournal (6-8 years ago), these quizzes were all the rage!

I TOTALLY agree on the peppermint thing. Spearmint actually makes me feel physically ill because I dislike it so much. Talk-radio used to have the same ill-effect on me…then I turned into a middle-aged woman and now I LOVE talk-radio when driving. Makes me feel like I have friends in the car lol.

A couple nights ago, we ran out of toilet paper and I didn’t realize until I had to pee really badly. Oh that was an uncomfortable trip to the drugstore.

  12. I have always loved that shirt… 😀

I may ‘borrow’ this question list and post my own… I too love reading all kinds of random about people – bedsheets? really? 😀

    *HAPPY WEEKEND*

  13. I totally remember filling out these things on Myspace!!! I think my super power is multi tasking, I can do about 10 things at once! : )

Not really any plans for the weekend except getting caught up on housework and work, plus relaxing a little! : )

  14. Becca says:

Hmm… Random fact, I would probably eat breakfast everyday all day if given the choice!

🙂 Have a godo weekend Tina!

  15. I do the 11:11 too! Same wish everytime:)

  16. Tina is swear we are always on the same wavelength. I just made a similar post and then I came here and read yours. Great random facts…i too only like peppermint!

  17. I love that CafePress shirt! I also really like when bloggers write up those random surveys – it’s fun to get to know the random tidbits about people.

Hmm something random…I am not scared of jumping out of planes, or ghosts, or bugs/reptiles but I get SOOO scared when I have to go to the Dentist.

    Have a good weekend! 🙂

  18. Tina you do look like Jamie Presley — I totally see the resemblance!

I agree with you about the seatbelts thing — I don’t understand people who don’t wear them.

  19. Haha – love this post. And I am with you on the TP – I freak out if there is less than 4 rolls in EACH bathroom. No joke. My husband thinks I’m nuts (well, he’s probably right on that one). I am also really freaked out about car wrecks. And totally with you on talking to yourself to get the crazy out 😉 Very nicely put! My hubby would say my most annoying habit is picking at my cuticles. I simply cannot help it. The more it’s pointed out to me, the more I NEED to pick.

  20. sami says:

i love posts like this 🙂 things i would never know to ask. haha. i know you on a deeper level, now! haha.

  21. Karen says:

I can really see the resemblance to Jamie Pressley! I too sing ABC’s and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star a lot however it’s usually just around the house!

  22. Ok, answered this on mine. As for a random fact? Um…I can touch my nose with my tongue? Dunno.

  23. I do see the Jamie Pressley resemblance. I loved her in Ringmaster w/ Jerry Springer. 🙂

Have you seen the shirt that says “I make milk. What’s your super power?” I loved that. I never bought it though.

  24. I had a tough time getting on your blog yesterday! Happy I can finally get back on!

I have and still ALWAYS flush public toilets with my foot. Since I was in middle school!!! I prob would drive you nuts because I crack everything on my body…fingers, knuckles, neck, back, toes, knees, etc…been doing that since middle school too…bad habit, I know.

    I WANT THAT T-SHIRT!!!!

  25. My husband hates my “selective hearing” while blogging or surfing on line…oops

  26. Jaime says:

Ooooh, I think I might have to copy this one day!! I am SOOOO with you on time flying by! I think Jesus is coming in the near future…time is going by too fast! 🙂 Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

  27. […] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Tina Reale, Tina Reale. Tina Reale said: What celeb do I look like? What's my super power? My annoying habit? Friday fun post. http://bit.ly/bu6IvH […]

  28. Steph says:

Haha Leo and J are not apperciative of my selective hearing while on the computer either. Usually a tennis ball or stuffed animal squirrel gets thrown my direction 🙂

  29. I can totally see your slight resemblance to Jamie Pressley.

My favorite band is Depeche Mode (and I have seen them in concert). I’ve also seen Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, Journey, Def Leppard (twice — my roommate’s a huge fan), Chicago, Kenny Rogers and … drumroll, please … Kenny G. (Yes, my musical tastes are all over the map! 😉

  30. homecookedem says:

You are too cute! 😉 Loved reading more about my friend!! 🙂 Looking forward to seeing you in a week!!!!!!!! I miss you!!

Random thing about me: 3 things that can always be found in my fridge are eggs, salad dressing, and pickles! 😉

  31. Dang it, you put that stupid Cha Cha song in my head! I hate that. Hello, favorite Harrison Ford movie…Star Wars! I crush on him still!

Have a great weekend Tina! Enjoy your friends and family!

    • Tina says:

Ahem. I have never seen Star Wars. Never will either. It’s a weird thing I take pride in. You may light saber me next Friday for that. 😉

  32. Angela says:

I love these surveys!!! The song I can’t stand right now is We Don’t Speak No Americano by Yolanda Be Cool… I switch the radio station whenever I hear it and I will NEVER let it make its way into my iTunes!

  33. Cynthia says:

Something random: it’s not really a superstition, but I hate even numbers. Hate them to the point where I can’t have the radio volume or TV volume on an even number. Has to be on an odd number. Weird

  34. You DO look like Jamie Presley! Something random about myself is I am really into painting my nails colors that I considered very weird a month ago, like green and blue.

  35. Ela says:

Fun facts – and some of those questions surely are weird!

I hate cracking knuckles – gives me the creeps!

I’ve been told many times that I look like Andie McDowell, but I can’t see it at all.

I’d rather be a bird than a fish.

There’s always bacon in the fridge for my husband and some sort of nut milk for me. Oh, and coffee beans for my husband.

Always tea for me, but only the herbal kind.

Ok – have a great weekend and Fall fun!

    love
    Ela

  36. emily says:

People say I look like Rachael Ray…which I adore her!

I love bible verses too….totally makes me feel better when I am down and motivates me even more when I am feeling good.

My favorite pizza topping is olives.

I want to get married in the fall….have 2 kids and name them September and November! lol! First, I need a decent boyfriend!

    There’s a little bit about me! I love your Q & A’s!
    Have a great weekend! xoxo

  37. Loriana says:

What a fun throwback to the myspace days! In honor of love your body day earlier this week, I’ll answer the “best feature” question: based on others’ comments and what I see when I look in the mirror, I would say my eyes or my lips. I love my eyes because I got them straight from my dad, my hero! And I love my lips because they are always shiny with gloss, it’s my trademark!

    Have a fun fall weekend!

  38. I read to the end. Go me! 🙂

I totally see the Jamie Presley look-a-like.

There is something we don’t actually have in common – LOVE the cha cha song… so much fun to dance to!!!

3 things always found in my fridge: Almond or Rice Milk, Soy-free Earth Balance, Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

My hubby and I made up our own rules to the “make a wish at 11:11” thing… when we were dating, we said we’d always make a wish and think of each other when the clock said, “12:12”. Aren’t we cute? 🙂

Fav Harrison Ford movie: 6 Days, 7 Nights

  39. Jess says:

This was such fun to read – totally reminds me of those old-school email forwards with survey questions that ran rampant before – y’know, before MySpace or Facebook was around. 😉 And PS. your husband is so handsome! I think that’s the first pic I’ve seen of him on the blog! 🙂 🙂

    • Tina says:

He’s shy! 😉 He’s been in quite a few pictures but none really just him or that close up to see him real well. I find him very handsome too. Love that guy!

  40. Sara says:

This is fun! I will answer a few questions, friend!
Flushing the toilet–with my foot! (I actually lost my shoe behind the toilet when I did this one day at work. Not cool. Least it didn’t go in the toilet like my ID badge did one day, ew.)
I worry about running out of almond milk.
(I think you with blonde hair does resembled Jamie Pressley) I’ve been told I resembled Claire Danes–I do NOT see that at all.
Cheese pizza, all the way. But with more sauce than cheese, please. To eat evenly w/ the crust. Yum. I want to try veggie pizza but I’m so stuck in my ways … I love cheese pizza. 3 things in ‘fridge: almond milk, water, cucumber
Kids: at least one, we’ll see how that goes. I’d ideally like two … and if I get crazy, maybe three. But that’s just going a little overboard. For me. I think. Since I have zero kids–only furry ones and a scaled one.
