tapas and bloggers

Posted: October 30, 2010 at 4:01 pm

Last night I had a fantastic time. I had the chance to dine with some great blogger friends from the area. I always love blogger meet-ups. From left to right: Em, Lee, Kelly, me, and Alayna.

IMGP8275

You know you will always have a lot to talk about thanks to the common interests. And tastes in food. Lee had suggested Eclipse di Luna for this meet-up and it was the perfect fit.

The restaurant serves mini-plates tapas style, so we all ordered a bunch of things to share with the table. There were many different options and all tasted delicious. Some of the ones I caught on camera:

Fried Goat Cheese with Honey & Caramelized Onions

IMGP8268

Yucca Fries

IMGP8269

Scallops with Bacon, Tomatoes, and Herbs

IMGP8271

Spanish Pizza with Roasted Veggies

IMGP8272

Lamb Mini Hamburgers

IMGP8273

Whew, that lighting was rough. I think some of the worst food pictures I have ever taken. I canโ€™t wait for our next meet-up. Hopefully more of us in the area will be able to make it to that one. No matter what though, there will be two less attendees in the future. Our next big meet-up will likely come after Em & I have popped out the baby boys. How exciting! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today has been relatively calm. Peter volunteered at our church, so M & I were on our own. We spent the morning playing and then headed out to meet some friends for a Trek or Treat event at a local park and trail.

We sort of expected it to be more trick-or-treating, but the event actually just had some food, crafts, booths from vendors, and music for the kids to dance. It was still nice to walk around and see all the kids in costumes. And hang out with some good friends. Even if they are the enemy today. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Itโ€™s the BIG game today. Georgia vs. Florida. And it is time for me to watch! All by my lonesome. Well, M will watch too. She loves football. My, how life is different than these daysโ€ฆ

Iโ€™m the one in the black top with the silver and the red skirt to the right. Hopefully we win today, like we did that year. Go Dawgs!!! And happy Halloween Saturday.

  • What sport do you love to watch? College football for me. Also, things like gymnastics.
  • Do you like tapas style dining? I do as long as the people I dine with like similar foods. Otherwise I bet it is frustrating!
  • Donโ€™t forget to ASK ME ANYTHING for the November Q + A series!

  1. I LOVE tapas. Looks like you girls had a great time, I wish I lived close and I could meet up with you! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. M’s costume is the cutest! I love her!

I’m with you, tapas style is great when you have similar tastes with who you are dining with and you don’t mind sharing. Sometimes I have a hard time sharing favorite foods ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Lee says:

I had such a good time! I agree that I like tapas if people have similar taste in foods. A lot of the time, people eat a lot of meats that I don’t eat and I end up hungry. That didn’t happen last night though. Yay.

    I like watching gymnastics too.

  4. I LOVE tapas style dining. Love love love it! My daughter is studying in Spain and I was there just a month ago and we did some tapas hopping each night. Tomorrow night, I’ll be in Boston with my Brazilian sister in law and we’re going to a tapas restaurant there. I can’t wait. I feel like it’s a chance to have a find dining experience and sample several items without ever feeling like you gorged yourself.

I don’t like any sports. Well, maybe gymnastics and figure skating.

    Those children are just *darling*!

  5. Em says:

It was SO great to see you and the other ladies!! You look so great and it’s just been so much fun being pregnant together!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you so much for organizing the meet-up last night. It was so perfect and I absolutely loved the food, but the company even more! Looking forward to our next meet-up already!!!!!!

    Have a great weekend!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Tina says:

You look so fabulous too! And we need another lunch/dinner date before Christmas time. Let me know when you’re available. We still have to do Cheeky together. I realized that when Peter & I went there last night.

  6. You’re so darn cute sportin that baby bump!!

I’ve never dined tapas style. I want to but I don’t think we have anywhere here that does that? Hmmm…need to look into that more ๐Ÿ˜€

    Have a great weekend!

  12. Oh my goodness… M is adorable! Her costume makes me giggle… ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I love tapas! I just went to a tapas restaurant with a friend this week and I love it that you can choose various dishes and they’re small enough for me to choose 4-5 different kinds. I like variety ๐Ÿ˜€
