sweet endings

Last night certainly ended on a high note.

IMGP8401

And you all should have seen Makenzie’s excitement to have her daddy back home. It was such a sweet thing to witness. I love my little family.

It felt amazing to sit down and talk again. I had so many things I had to tell him – about Makenzie, the writing stuff I finished, how much I missed him, excitement over getting things finished and setup for baby B, etc. I also had so many things to ask him about his trip. He went on a church retreat and attendees can’t share specifics, so that way when other people go they can have the full experience. I couldn’t go this past weekend, so I have to be patient for when my time comes and live with the secrets until then. I think I can do that because I can see how much the weekend meant to him.

After talking for a long while, we both felt like snuggling on the couch before heading to bed. So we watched a tiny bit of TV with a sweet treat. I had gotten us some cream cheese brownies to enjoy together. So good and fudgy!

I can hardly believe its already back to Monday since this weekend felt more like weekdays to me. It sure does feel like a Monday though. Of course I woke up feeling tired. And I hurt. A lot today. Groceries, tutoring, mothering, and everything else still must get done. However, that really is not something to complain about. Even though I woke up in quite a bit of pregnancy pain, I still felt this incredible peace and overwhelming sense of blessing.  I love my life and thank God for it today. He does pretty amazing things and loves us so much.

Now that I have spent some time chilling with the little bean and had my oats & coffee, it’s time to tackle the day! Wish me luck. It’s a long one with tutoring.

  • What types of weekends make it hard to believe when Monday rolls around? For me, weekends when I don’t have Peter around much. Also, those weekends that go by in a blur but I don’t really know WHAT we did.
  • How do you feel blessed or appreciative of something today?

  1. YAY for Hubby home! I always feel “complete” when by Love comes home after being away. There is nothing like having your family home safe together:)

I feel incredibly humbled and blessed just to have the health and stamina I do to finish out these last 12 days of my goal. I’ve grown so closer to God and to my husband through this experience and I got a bit choked up during my morning cardio because God has led me on an amazing adventure these past few months and I appreciate my body and its capabilities so much more. All glory goes to God who helped me see what he’s seen all along! For that, I’m eternally grateful and appreciative:)

  2. You have a beautiful little family! God is truly great! Sorry you’re hurting today…hopefully baby will give Mama a break later. He means well 🙂 XOXO

  3. Awwww that’s so sweet! You guys both look so happy and relieved to be reunited!

  4. This weekend feels like it never happened! We went out to State College for the football game on Saturday, and then were just trying to catch up on all the normal weekend chore stuff on Sunday and…just drained.

And…I guess I have to feel blessed to have my job. Even on Mondays. And even not liking it very much. It’s still a job.

  5. I have a great family! All of them are sick, so I am heading to the store for quick fixes and hopefully the boys will all be well tomorrow! Have a great day Tina!

  6. Angela says:

Aww your family are so gorgeous! My weekends seem to fly by on a regular basis, especially the ones where I have a ton of social plans. I can’t say I’d ever give it up though – I LOVE my friends and fam! 🙂

  7. I agree, the weekends that go by so fast because they are packed with activity… (trust me, I am not complaining about activity and love having many friends and things to do, AND the ability to do them!!) but many times I need a weekend as a “breather” where we get to relax and enjoy each other… especially if the week is (typically) busy and fast paced!

you two look so happy!! 😀

  8. Bonnie says:

SO great to be reunited again – I love that. 😀 Glad to hear you guys had such a nice night together reconnecting and enjoying a little treat (which looks like it would hit the spot for me right now!). Today I am appreciative for an incredibile weekend away (with my husband this time) working at a conference for/with young adult cancer survivors – what a community to enter into. 😀

  9. You and your hubby are way too cute!

    So glad he’s back 🙂

  10. Cute pic:) Glad he is back safely!
Busy weekends make it harder for me to go back to school/ reality because I never got the chance to get some much needed relaxation.

  11. LindseyAnn says:

I was in marching band while I was in college, and I tell you, those game weekends barely felt like a weekend at all! Especially if there were both football and hockey games–I spent more time with a piccolo in my hand than I did eating and sleeping combined on those days. It was tiring, but so worth it in the end, because it was what I loved.
Now, I’d have to say that it’s any weekend in which I travel that makes it feel like it wasn’t a weekend at all.
I hear you on the sitting and talking–I was gone from Tuesday-Saturday last week, and it felt fantastic to just sit down on Saturday night and talk over pizza!! 🙂
I feel so appreciative of the weather right now–it’s beautiful outside, and I’m blessed that I have the chance to go out and enjoy it! 🙂

  12. Glad you two had such a good night! I love that picture, you look so happy. 🙂

  13. Long weekends, usually after a holiday make Mondays so very much harder. Oh, and the Monday after vacations – ack!

Glad he’s home safely and your cute little family it whole again 🙂

  14. Weekends that don’t feel like weekends make Monday’s difficult. This past weekend I was running around doing errands and I never really had a break. The one time I had to myself was my 8 mile run Saturday afternoon. 🙂

I am appreciative of every day and that I have a loving family who supports me in whatever I do. 🙂

You look so happy in the picture! Glad he got home safely! 🙂

  15. I love it when my husband comes home from a trip!!

  16. EVERY Monday morning I think “what did we even DO this weekend?” It always goes by in such a blur.

I feel blessed every day: I love my husband, family, friends, job, life! 🙂

Have a great Monday Tina 🙂

  17. you have the most adorable family!

and that brownie looks delicious. this cleanse is really cutting into my dessert eating. 😉

i think the hardest thing a bout monday is the shock of having to wake up and hit the ground running. i much prefer to sleep in and watch the morning news with my tea.

  18. I feel blessed every day for my family and supportive boyfriend!

  19. I think I am so happy and grateful right now that I can NEVER believe it is Monday again. My weekends tend to be so full of love with my family and friends that they just FLY!

  20. Dorry says:

Traveling weekends make me feel like I need an extra day for unpacking, laundry and rest. But if I’m fortunate enough to be traveling, I just suck it up and cram a lot into my Mondays. 🙂

I feel very blessed today. Gorgeous day. Woke up early because of daylight’s savings and had a great training run.

Hope your day is going well!!

  21. Julie says:

I feel blessed that we both get to work from home and all that comes with that: working in our PJs, being leisurely in the morning getting the kids ready for school, making our own hours, being here when the kids get home from school. Thanks for reminding me to remember my blessings today, Tina.

  22. I feel blessed that I have a job and enough money to cover our needs and most wants. Three- and four-day weekends make it hard when Monday comes!

  23. Mellissa says:

Mondays are just plain hard, every weekend is so busy that I wake up Monday morning thinking where the heck did the weekend go.

Work is insane today and I am stopping for a few minutes to go and eat lunch not at my desk. I am thankful for a few minutes of sanity.

    • Tina says:

Enjoy your lunch!! I would need a few moments to myself after a busy weekend like FoodBuzz and then hopping in to a busy work schedule too.

  24. Jess says:

Aw. What a great way to end the weekend after not having Peter around and all. I know just what you mean – having a “girls weekend” while the hubs is away is good in small doses but then you start to miss having him around, right?? I know I do – so having that special alone time upon his return is always such a treat!

  25. Awww I’m glad your husband is home! And that brownie looks great!

  26. Good luck! And yay husbands being home.

I feel so blessed that I did laundry. I washed, dried, folded, and put away my clothing, which rarely happens. I also feel appreciative that I restocked our toilet paper/paper towel/soap/etc supplies. Oh and it hailed today! I love hail! What a great day!

  27. This weekend was my husband and I’s last weekend of just US. For the next 4-6 weeks it’s craziness, school for him, exams and holidays.

So this morning I am so grateful for the time we had together. The lazy mornings. The perfect evenings and just time to be us. 🙂

    Have a wonderful day!!!

  28. Becca says:

So, that brownie looks really good… Hah. 🙂

I LOVE weekends when I don’t have to work (like this past week). And weekends when at least one of my college friends comes home and we hang out on Sunday afternoon. Put those two kinds of weekends together and I’m even happier. 😀

I honestly really feel blessed to be alive. I went to a funeral for a guy I graduated with on Friday and today my math prof told me she was sorry to hear that it was my third funeral in three years and whatever else I emailed her Thursday night. Now I’m in one of those “blah” moods and have a bunch of extra math homework and this Friday marks two years since my best friend died and… yeah. One of those weird things that puts me in a “I hate life” mood. But I’m kind of glad I’m still here learning and growing and building relationships and stuff.

  29. I feel both blessed by and appreciative of my job. I’m getting to do what I love, and I’m loving it more every day. When I embarked on the career path I’m on, I hoped I’d like it and suspected I would. But I never knew it would be as wonderful as it is.

  30. Yeah, that brownie looks great. I’m jealous!

The weekends I spend at work (which is most of them) go by in a blur of late nights and newspaper pages.

  31. Aw yay for the family being reunited again 🙂

  32. My weekend away in Miami made it realllly hard to deal with Monday today. And I also am having a hard time dealing with darkness at 4:30pm! EW!

  33. Camille says:

Today I am very very appreciative of the academic support my school is giving me. Turns out I am going to be in school a lot longer than expected, but my adviser has been working with me to incorporate a second major in to my program so I can make the most out of my time and money.
    I <3 you, OSU!

  34. CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES?!?!?!?

I’m sorry, I think I missed anything else you said 😉 How nice to have your hubby back home! 🙂

  35. I am so glad he is back:) Cream cheese brownies wow!!
I am so appreciative of my in-laws…they are so good to me!

  36. P.S. you two make a GORGEOUS couple!

  37. Yay for your hubby being back! When we have a fabulous family weekend, with just the 4 of us, it makes it seem like how in the world is Monday here??

  38. Great post- I love your positive attitude 🙂 I am grateful for my husband, he is so supportive and loving.

  39. Lori says:

Woah, that cream cheese brownie looks pretty damn tasty. 🙂

I’m feeling blessed by my amazing workout I accomplished today (always gives me the best feeling when I have a great workout). I’m feeling appreciated by… myself. hehe. I’m back to studying (hard) for my personal trainer cert! And I’m super amped up for getting certified and anxiously waiting to see where it takes me. 🙂

    • Tina says:

That is exciting! I’m trying to decide when I may want to get certified. It will likely be awhile though. It definitely is something cool to do…and hard work too. I’m sure you’ll do great. 😀

  40. Yay for having the hubs back home. Jason is leaving me next weekend and I’m already very sad about it. I think weekends the fly by for me are those when I’m really enjoying life 100% with Jason, my sister, my family, the weather, everything.

  41. Kristy says:

I cant imagine how excited she was. I mean when we get home each night our dog is bouncing off the walls excited and we are only gone a few hours. 😉

  42. Mandy says:

So glad he made it home safe 🙂

It’s kind of funny. I become a certified personal trainer and the first workouts I turn to this week come from someone else. The book came in for me at the library last week and, after flipping through it, I couldn’t wait to give the circuits a go. Making The Cut includes a lot of […]
