a few PSAs for the FFF public

Posted: November 11, 2010 at 12:00 pm

Contribute a random act of kindness to the world today. People notice.

Last night, I had to stop off to pick up something at the store for small groups. I had one item to pay for and the woman in front of me let me pay first. How nice!

Take a moment to appreciate your freedoms.

Whether in the US or not, many, if not all, of us have freedoms we would not have without others fighting for them across the years. Remember that today.

Turn your lights on when driving. It gets dark earlier these days. Oops…I made that misstep last night driving to small groups. It wasn’t totally dark yet, but when I pulled into the store parking lot I realized I forgot to turn them on.

Sign up for the Holiday Gift Exchange.

We already have over 30 signed up. Be sure you are able to participate, then join in!

Call someone special you haven’t spoken to in awhile. A good friend, parent, sibling, etc would love to hear from you today!

God loves you. He REALLY loves you.

Enjoy that cookie, dinner out, non-sugar-free latte, etc guilt free. Take care of your health, but always remember balance is part of that.

Drink your water. It will make you feel good, I promise.

Smile. It will make you feel better, too. I promise. 🙂

Look around you and see the beauty everywhere.

Even sitting in traffic, like I was last night, you can look out your window and see a cotton-candy colored sky. Life is beautiful.

  • What “public service announcement” would you like to give others today?

  1. Great reminders. Mine would be to enjoy the moment.

  2. Julie says:

I had a good grocery store experience last night, too! A lovely gentleman waited for me to finish loading my groceries into the car and then took my cart back into the store for me 🙂

  3. What a lovely post!

This reminds me to slow down and appreciate all the little things life has to offer 🙂

  4. This is the most *important* PSA, but since I’m heading to the gym in a while people should pick up after themselves and put their weights back so that others can use them. There have been a few times that the weights I needed to use were mysteriously in random corners of the gym or hidden under benches. If people are motivated enough to go to the gym, they should at least not be lazy and leave their weights around;)

Whoo hoo for the gift exchange! I’ll email you shortly! Have a beautiful day, Tina:)

  5. Cherish the day. You’ll never get it back after its over.

    Oh and hug someone. Tight.

  6. take in the beauty, but don’t let it distract you from driving like i tend to do all the time. yesterdays sky was gorgeous, as i slowly crept over to the other lane! opps. i am always amazed by sunsets and the beauty of the evening sky

  7. One of my best days was when my co-worker bet me I couldn’t smile and say “hi” to every person I encountered. I took this SERIOUSLY and turned it into everyone we walked past at a busy client site. He called it off within about an hour, but I got SOOO many smiles, “hi”‘s and positive responses. So my PSA is just to say “hi”! It makes people’s day.

  8. Astrid says:

My PSA: It is completely OK to roll back into bed in the morning for a few more m inutes of sleep in the morning. This is the first time in months that I have done this for myself. It felt incredible!!
I love the enjoy a cookie, dinner out, etc guilt free. Why do we have to be so strict with ourselves? It feels good to treat yourself sometimes with a splurge, whether it is an edible treat or a gift to yourself that costs extra money. Do it! (I think that was an extra PSA)

  9. tell your loved ones how much you care about and appreciate them…

    smile at strangers.

take your pup on an extra long walk ! 😀

  10. Love this post… you always make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Just smile, it will make someone feel included and welcome.

  11. i always like to remind people they’re beautiful, no matter what. always. just for being you! 🙂

  12. Angela says:

Thank you for these reminders, Tina! I am currently chugging a big glass of water, and am going to email my sister today because I haven’t chatted with her in a while (she lives in England). Have a great afternoon! 🙂

  13. Great PSA’s 🙂 I find that things like this are especially important to remember during the holiday season.

  14. Great post 🙂 Don’t forget to thank a veteran today for their service and sacrifice 🙂

Hope you have a beautiful day!

  15. Great reminders!! I can’t forget to sign up for the Gift Exchange – don’t let me forget!

  16. Nichole says:

YOU ARE LOOKING AMAZING!!! You are so beautiful:)

That cloud image is fantastic, gorgeous.

  17. You look fantastic! 🙂 I’m chugging water, too… I’ve been bad about it lately… and hug a veteran!!

  18. My you look gorgeous today! So does that belly. 🙂

Wonderful reminders that you gave me Tina. I’ll add to that with always remember to breathe. Moments that feel hard, frustrating, impossible will always feel better if you stop, close your eyes and take a long deep breath!

Oh and remember to smile at a stranger. It’s a mutually beneficial act of kindness.

  20. I really like your thoughts about being kind to others. Im always kind to people. I hold doors open, let cars pull infront of me. I try to make people feel special, because i hope that someday the favors will be returned to me.

  21. I loved this post very much!! I especially appreciate that you mentioned the veterans. I feel like a lot of people take what they’ve done for us for granted. My Grandpa fought in World War 2, and I really dont know how he came out of that and managed to stay sane.

  22. I love this! Be kind to others around, you don’t know what they have been through!

  23. Mellissa says:

    Please don’t text and drive!

  24. Lori says:

What a wonderful post! So many great things to remember.

My PSA for today… um… eat your veggies! (because they’re delicious when done right!) 😉

That’s the best I could come up with… lol

  25. Meg says:

I drove almost all the way home from school (about a 30 minute drive) with only my parking lights on the other night. OOPS!! I’m so glad that you added “enjoy that cookie…” as I enjoyed some homemade pudding last night that was quite indulgent!

  26. You can’t control the world but you can control yourself.

    You belly is so cute!!!

  27. Your posts always make me feel happy. Thank you for that 🙂

I would say, “Rather than focus on what you DON’T have, focus on what you DO have.” I also always like to remind healthy people that at least they have just that – health. So many others do not.

  28. Nancy K says:

Love FFF’s PSAs! You look great btw 🙂

My PSA…Love one another. Let’s make the world a better place.

..off to find a cookie to enjoy 😉

  29. Can I just stick with your psa? Thanks for the reminder!

  30. What a gorgeous picture in that last shot.

My PSA? Hmm … I might have to get back to you on that. I’m drawing a blank right now.

  31. Kristy says:

I read this post the other day (wish I could find it again!) – anyways the concept was “what if we all wore sign around our neck that explains what we are going through at the moment” “would we treat each other a little more gentally?”. Thats my PSA! Consider where other are coming from before judging, better yet refrain from judgement? 😉

  32. I love how positive you always are! Thanks for the PSA and for lifting my spirits this morning!

  33. lindsay says:

I just have to say that you are the cutest pregnant gal out there, plus your positivity makes you glow even more. Love it!! 😉
