SCORE!

Posted: February 18, 2010 at 8:56 pm

I have been scoring in all sorts of ways today πŸ˜€ And no....not the dirty way....yet, at least πŸ˜‰ Rawr!

If you couldn't tell already by my playful mood, I woke up feeling tons better this morning. Still not 100% by any means since I still have a bad headache that won't go away and I find I get fatigued way too easily. But not wanting to puke my guts out is a step in the right direction I say. SCORE!

I spent some time this morning catching up on my Google Reader, per the usual am routine. And I found out that I won a giveaway from my pal Julie at the great blog Julie Go Lean. I won a coupon to try out a Rudi's Organic Bakery product. Cool! Or should I say SCORE! πŸ˜‰

After getting some breakfast into the baby girl and I, we headed out to the consignment sale. I never realized so many people in the blog world were fans of these things! I guess bargains are hard to pass up, huh? These are a bit different than consignment shops though. It is one sale that lasts a weekend in a temporary location (fairgrounds, church, other public buildings) and is solely for children items. I actually don't go consignment shopping for myself since even all the consignment shops around where I live are for children items only. Good thing there are places like Kohls and TJMaxx closeby for my own bargain shopping πŸ˜‰

Anyways, check out all the loot....

Four Dresses

Five Complete Outfits

Eleven Tops

Eleven Bottoms (one went unpictured)

Three Pairs of Shoes

Two Bikinis

and Eight Books

...and all of that for UNDER $100!!! SCORE!!!!! M could very well be set for spring and summer. But I know I'll end up buying more at some of the other sales I enjoy that are happening in upcoming weeks. It's too fun to shop for such a cutie pie!

Another awesome part of the day was the lovely weather. We even got to play outside.

It's A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood a'la Mr. Rogers

kick the ball

If you have kids, you know what a huge benefit that is. So that gets a SCORE!!! too. Ya sick of those yet? I'm not! After such a lousy week, I'm gonna be peppy. Ha!

And it might seem odd, but I was also pumped that I got to clean and feel caught up on everything. Laundry, sweeping/mopping, kitchen odds and ends, etc. Even scrubbing the stroller and cleaning my car. Ahhhhhhh... Oops. I meant....wait for it....SCORE!

Something else that made me smile = seeing new faces in the comments sections. I love making new bloggie friends. Score!

And tomorrow is Friday. I know you want to shout SCORE!! with me on that one. Yay for Fridays! And tomorrow will be extra good for me, since I get to meet up with Lindsey to make up for our snowed out date last week. I can't wait πŸ™‚

  • What are your plans for the weekend? Girl time lunch date tomorrow, visit with my family and seeing my little bro on Saturday, church and the usual on Sunday. It'll be a good one!
  • What ways did you score today? I think you know my answer by now πŸ˜‰
  • What is the best bargain you have ever found? Mine would have to be M's furniture. We fully stocked her nursery with TWO dressers, a changing table, a crib, a crib mattress, and a glider for $150. Like 10% of what it would cost if we got it new.

ETA: Remember to ask me ANYTHING by clicking here!! I don't have any questions yet. Maybe that just means I am too open of a book? πŸ˜‰

The website thebargainwatcher.com lists out all sorts of sales. They aren’t as common in all areas but you might find something πŸ™‚

  6. Sounds like you had a near perfect day!! I LOVE scoring with bargains. This past weekend I scored big time paying 27 bucks for a $200 Ann Taylor coat!

My weekend will be good starting tomorrow b/c my sis is coming up for a visit. Saturday I plan on stocking up at the Asian market (awesome deals on fresh veggies, dried shiitake, and tofu), plus lifting weights and Cathe DVDs for cardio.

  8. Jennifer says:

I love awesome buys! Man, just looking at those baby girl clothes makes me look forward to shopping for my own children one day. Is it as much fun as it looks? I love to find myself a bargain and I’m with you on the TJMaxx! But I think when the kiddos come along, especially if God blesses us with a girl (boy is great too) I’ll forget my own wardrobe and make her the little fashion queen. haha

  9. Morgan says:

Everything you got is so sweet!
This weekend I am seeing my bro and his girlfriend, rock climbing with my dad, doing a long run, and then going back to lame-o PA!

  16. Wooot!! What a day! So glad you are feeling better!!

  17. Ameena says:

Holy cow I can’t believe you bought all that amazing stuff for $100!! Absolutely amazing. The books alone would have probably cost half of that at a bookstore. I have never been to a consignment store before but I think I may need to take a little trip now!

    Love all your energy!!

    • Tina says:

They are the ONLY way I shop for her. Soooo much cheaper. Check out the website thebargainwatcher.com to see if they have any sales in your area. They aren’t common everywhere but if you can find one it’s worth it!

  18. Melissa says:

Awesome job on getting so many “Score!”able things in this week, Tina!

Buying clothes for little girls is SO much fun…I have a blast doing it. Don’t you wish they had mommy-sized versions of some of their clothes??

I agree on the bloggie friends…I LOVE getting comments on mine. I just need to make more friends! Haha.

Have a great girls lunch today and have a great weekend!

  19. sophia says:

Girl! How lucky are you? What a buy! All under $10, and they are all so adorable!
Hmm…I went out for a run RIGHT before the storm hit. SCORE! πŸ˜€

  20. Hallie says:

Oh I was just telling my coworker my weekend is NUTS. I’m working OT tonight, then tomorrow I have to go to the gym since I didn’t go this morning, taking puppy to the vet (just a checkup), cleaning, then going to Target for baby shower present and hanging out with a girlfriend. Then on Sunday I’m going to run, visit my grandma, and go to said baby shower. Sometime this weekend I also want to go to Trader Joes, do some laundry, and write articles since I told my client that I’d have him something on Monday. Ugh! I much prefer lazy weekends.
