Baby Eviction & A Heads Up

Posted: December 27, 2010 at 8:32 am

Catching up from the holiday weekend?

So, how did everyone enjoy the remainder of their weekend? We had a little project yesterday. It had something to do with this special notice I sent to baby B:

I am issuing notice for EVICTION. Tenant must gather his belongings and promptly vacate the premises. Otherwise, he will be physically removed from the property.

He's being evicted due to breech of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the FRONT of the house, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the house were also made! Remodeling and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. And due to property damage, there are now leaks in both the upper AND lower levels of the home. On top of which, the landlord has received numerous complaints about nightly disturbances.

Please, it’s time to go!

My friend shared that back when we were pregnant together with our firsts. I found it hilarious, and feel that way now. Now that I have reached full term and the point my midwives wanted me to reach, I am sooooo ready. I don’t really believe in all the old wives tales of things you can do to start labor, but Peter & I figured why not give them a shot? Yesterday became Operation See If We Can Evacuate Baby B Day. We tried everything I felt comfortable doing that people list as helping start labor. I ate spicy food for lunch and dinner. We drove around for a couple of hours, which did give me contractions but nothing strong or lasting. Certain other “friendly activities” happened. And I even made it to the gym for an hour of walking on the treadmill and using the stepmill!

Getting to workout again felt incredible! I think simply the fact I am in the clear to workout lightly again makes up for the fact all of those things did nothing to prompt labor. I figured they wouldn’t, but it still made for an interesting day. I wasn’t disappointed, because I know things will happen at the right time and I can do nothing to change that. We’re in the home stretch and nothing could excite me more. Well, besides him arriving sooner rather than later. 😉

Before I sign off this post, I wanted to go ahead and give a heads up. As part of the BlogHer network, I occasionally participate in some of their programs which include compensated posts. A little while ago, I signed up for two of these posting requests, yet did not realize the launch date for both would be back to back. So, later today and then tomorrow morning you will see posts related to BlogHer. The posts will still reflect things I would normally discuss here on FFF and display my genuine style.

I’m giving the heads up not because I feel the need to explain myself for how I choose to support my blog, but because these are the first compensated posts to appear on FFF and I didn’t want anyone, especially newer readers, wondering what was going on with two so close together. I hope you come back to see what its all about and the importance of me staying true to my style. Thanks for understanding this is not the norm for my posts, and supporting the ways in which I run this blog. I couldn’t do it without YOU.

Question of the Morning – How do you deal with anticipation of a big event?

    • Tina says:

It is really nice. I enjoy working with them and the fact that those types of posts are never a “hey, buy this product” type of thing. It’s basically like reviews I would do before for products but comped through BlogHer.

  3. Morgan says:

  5. That eviction notice is too funny!!! For me, walking a ton made + my small frame made M come 3 weeks early! Yikes!

I hope baby B arrives sooner rather than later 🙂

    • Tina says:

I plan on walking every single day now that I am cleared for it again after reaching full term. Hopefully it brings similar results to me. 🙂

  6. Lee says:

I hope he gets evicted soon!

  7. haha I love that! I hope baby B gets the message and gets out soon!!

  8. Mellissa says:

Come on baby B, we all want to meet you!

  9. So funny! Good luck with the eviction!!!

  10. i just try to stay as organized as possible…and hope for the best! you can only prepare so much before life takes over and you just go with the flow 🙂

  11. I’m sure the waiting is really difficult! Good luck over the next few days. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

  12. Well at least you got in some exercise! That’s gotta make you feel a bit better. Keeping my fingers crossed that Baby B decides to come sooner rather than later.

  13. Kristy says:

LOL – You are so cute! Ekkkk!

  14. chelsey says:

Cerrtain other “friendly activities” happened – ABSOLUTELY hilarious. 🙂

Congratulations on making some dough with the blog Tina! You go girl!

  15. Camille says:

I am so darn excited for you!
Being able to workout after a long time off it the best feeling ever. And being told you can’t workout must be the worst!

  16. I’m so excited that Baby B will be here so soon!
Are you nervous at all about labor? Or do you feel like ‘been there, done that’ and aren’t too worried?

    • Tina says:

I know that there is no telling what the labor will be like, so I don’t even really think about it. I more get nervous about how things will be after he comes – like if he will be as “easy” as M was or not.

  17. Angela says:

Hehe I love the eviction notice!! Usually dealing with anticipation of a big event totally excites me and gets me a little bit nervous. However, I can’t say I’ve ever had to anticipate labour, and to be honest, the thought of that scares me a LOT! 🙂

  18. That’s pretty funny!
You are so close and I think it’s great that you still showed up at the gym! Fabulous lady!!!
    Hang in there 🙂

  19. Ha! This post made me smile…Baby B will be out here in the world in no time!

  20. Amanda says:

My kids never moved out until they were about a week and a half past their due dates, at which time they were threatened with induction if they hadn’t made their appearance by 42 weeks.

Delightful gems that they are, both made their appearances the day after that threat: 11 days late and 12 days late, respectfully.

    There’s a reason I stopped at two… 😉

  21. Cute eviction notice! 🙂 Such an exciting time, I’m sure!!

  22. Tatianna says:

    Hehehe.. that’s hilarious!
I’m so excited for you. I can only imagine how weird it feels to be at the end of your pregnancy, but still waiting for that moment to arrive.

  23. Dorry says:

haha – love that eviction notice. I can get pretty nervous with anticipation of a big event, but it depends on what it is. Packing to travel for 3+ weeks to Europe – made me anxious but actually marrying Billy, I was not nervous – just excited!

  24. Baby eviction = hilarious!
I am so bad with anticipation of big events – I can’t seem to focus on anything else but the number of hours/days left until whatever it is I”m anticipating. (Read: I don’t get ANY work done). I can’t imagine anticipating something that doesn’t have a definite date or time like the birth of Baby B! I’m getting anxious just waiting to see “THE tweet” when you tell us it’s time to head to the hospital!

  25. You are hilarious! I bet the people in the gym were staring at you on the stairmill. 🙂

My mom says she went swimming, then at at Longhorn with me and that worked.

  26. Hope Baby B makes an apperance soon!!! 🙂

  27. Heather says:

Ahahaha! My SIL is in fact evicting our sweet Sophia as I type! She was due today (#2) & her doctor wasn’t making her wait like he did with her first (now 18 months.)

I told her since she wouldn’t hold off until my bday on Saturday, I’m happy to at least share my bday week 🙂

Little B could be a great bday present..just sayin 😉

  28. Ha – what a funny eviction notice – I love it!

  29. That is so cute and SO true!

  30. laura says:

haha oh my that is so funny, took me a while to get though 🙂
big events are hard, but i try to go with the flow. good luck!

  31. Allie says:

That eviction notice made me smile! I hope all is well and that you are all ready for Baby B! Woooo 🙂

  32. Jennifer Rahn says:

I’ll be right there with ya in about a week.

Have you had your final sono? How’s B measuring? We have ours on Wednesday….fingers crossed that he’s a healthy, manageable weight!

    • Tina says:

We don’t get another sono. 🙁 The only measurement I get is the fundal length and he’s on track or a little ahead there. And I get the wonderful comment to expect him to be a bigger baby to deliver than M. LOL

Can’t wait to hear about your little one!

      • Jennifer Rahn says:

Oh, I’m sorry that you won’t get another sonogram. That’s a huge bummer. You’ll be meeting B before I meet H, though, if that’s any consolation! Oh, and I’m also measuring bigger this time around. I think I’m carrying H differently. He seems much more “out there” and lower than Addie did.

I’ll keep you posted on the sono results.

  33. I just wanted to let you know I gave you a little blog award on my blog- check it out! 🙂

  34. Holly says:

Oh my gosh, that is so funny! I’ve never seen that notice before, but I know you are more than ready to evict and meet your little one. 🙂

  35. Hi Tina!
Sorry I’ve been MIA for a loooong time. This pregnancy has been kicking my butt! Anyway, I thought your little tenant thing was so cute and hilarious! I might steal it. 😉

  36. I bet you were really happy about that workout! Hope Baby B gets the eviction notice soon! 🙂

  37. Ela says:

That eviction notice is hysterical! I hope the wait is over soon: it’s a very exciting time I’m sure, even if a little frustrating.

Interesting to hear about the comp’ed post – sounds like a great opportunity. I’m looking forward to reading it.
    love
    Ela

  38. Jess says:

what a riot, Tina! I can only imagine the fun you had trying to “evict” baby B, even though it didn’t work, at least it’s a fun story you can tell him later on right?? Hopefully sooner vs. later tho 😉

  39. Mandy says:

I remember that note 😉 xoxo
