I Will Still Need You

Posted: January 10, 2011 at 8:22 pm

I really feel I cannot say it enough. I love you all!!! Katy, Caitlin, Chelsey, Gabriela, Allison, and a good handful of others were tweeting with me today about their excitement for baby B’s arrival. Over recent weeks, your many comments showing support and friendship have meant so much to me. I have seen a pretty sizeable increase (to me) in readership and subscribers over the last week or two. [Side note: Hello to all you new readers!!!!] I feel incredibly loved. It humbles me and rewards me to be in the midst of so much encouragement.

I completely credit all this to the anticipation of Mr. Baby B and his first appearance on FFF. Believe me. I feel it too! I cannot wait to give that update and share the whole experience here with all of you. So at the risk of sounding desperate and pushing you all away, I have to say this -

I will still need you!

After Baby B’s arrival and the anticipation dies down, I hope you will continue to read. You motivate me to continue the blog, which allows me to grow as an individual. As I adjust to two children, I know this outlet will remain a great source of friendship. I will need you. As I work towards my many goals over the course of the year, knowing you all are there cheering me on will inspire me. I will need you. As I share my life, my passions, my heart, my all…I will need you there because a large part of what makes blogging so enjoyable is you. The community. The relationships. The friendships.

Even when you don’t have the chance to comment, seeing that people are stopping by to check in on me makes me smile. Knowing all of you out there care enough to want to either visit, provide an ear to my random ramblings, or share some of your own insights brightens my day.

I do have some fun things coming up here on Faith Fitness Fun as well.

  • new blog header design and official customized logo for the blog!
  • plans to regularly post short video clips of favorite workout moves to really share my love of fitness (perhaps a weekly feature :))
  • more recipes to go along with my goal of one new recipe each week
  • more of my meal/snack ideas with a weekly feature – to depict the possibility of losing weight without deprivation
  • Body After Baby progress and complete honesty on the journey
  • more little M and baby B antics for all the kiddo lovers out there
  • and of course…more of the same fun and musings you already enjoy since I refuse to change the whole premise of this site! 😉

Thank you for everything you have given me so far. I hope we can continue this path together in the future of Faith Fitness Fun. It’s going to be a good one…and it wouldn’t be without you. Pssst…did you catch my special message for ya?

Question of the Evening – What does your blog and its readers add to your life? Have you ever posted something that made you feel incredibly vulnerable? I feel pretty vulnerable after this post, for sure. I hope it didn’t come across as whiny, but sincerely showing my gratitude for your involvement here.

  1. Tina, I know I haven’t been the most frequent commenter on here, but I will share something with you.

Remember when I PMed you on O2 way back in October of 2009? I had just had Maddie, and I saw that you were a momma and going for a fitness comp. You gave me some pretty awesome advice. Since then, I’ve blogged and unblogged (hah), run and gotten lazy, upped and downed…and a lot of times, just coming back to your blog (even on non-health post days) made me think about my life.

Your faith inspires me. Your drive to stay healthy while pregnant (SUCH A HARD THING TO DO) motivates me…I mean, come on…kickboxing with a big ol’ baby belly CAN’T be the easiest, most graceful thing to do, but you did it. For both you and baby. You set a WONDERFUL, healthy, energetic example for Makenzie, too. (This, momma, is something that I find to be one of the most important parts of being a mom to a little girl – setting the body image/self respect example.)

Anyways, I guess what I’m trying to say is you’re one of the bloggers that I truly enjoy coming back to. I hope that you find having two children to be doubly fulfilling and entertaining! (I know I did!)

As for what my blog does for me? The friendship and support have gotten me through some tough times…like with my Dad. (We both know discussing the Dad issues makes you feel vulnerable.) Posting pictures of myself, talking about my weight, and openly announcing goals makes me feel vulnerable, too. But I love it…because it’s who I am, and I’m learning to love ME.

Keep up the great work being an inspiring mom and athlete. We all love you…too. 🙂

  2. I am new to blogging, but I think it has had some impact on me already. For one thing, I seem to see the world and my own life through different eyes. I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s true. It means so much when I get comments on a post. It’s just fun sharing things, and knowing that someone out there has read and perhaps enjoyed what I’ve shared is wonderful. As far as feeling vulnerable, I feel vulnerable writing a blog at all and putting myself, my thoughts and my experiences out there.

I’ve only discovered your blog recently, too, and I have really been enjoying it. I think you are inspiring in your dedication to fitness throughout your pregnancy, and in your transparency on your blog. It’s awesome reading about another real mom, doing her best to set a healthy example for her kiddos. Thanks, and congrats on Baby B!

  3. Oh Tina. I’m so happy for you. And I can’t wait to read the updates and I’m especially interested in your post-baby workouts. I’ve really been paying attention to your thoughts on this subject.

If I have one word of advice, it’s this: Please don’t be hard on yourself on those days when sleep or time with family or just down time is more important that working out. I know you’re excited and even anxious to get back into more intense workouts. Just be easy on your body for awhile. I’m sure you already “know” this in your head, but maybe hearing another person say it will help, too. 🙂 Keep that positive body attitude that you’ve worked hard to achieve. I love seeing that come through in your posts. There’s nothing wrong with days where you post “I’m tired, my boobs hurt, and if I see a weight, I’m going to throw it instead of lift it”.

Congratulations again and enjoy those baby sighs. 🙂

  4. Rach says:

Oh girl, I will definitely still be here! No worries! 🙂

  5. Lindsey says:

I’m looking forward to all the fun updates to your blog! I love it! 🙂

Where The Change Happens

Posted: November 16, 2011 at 7:54 am

It’s kind of funny. I become a certified personal trainer and the first workouts I turn to this week come from someone else. The book came in for me at the library last week and, after flipping through it, I couldn’t wait to give the circuits a go. Making The Cut includes a lot of […]
