Low Key + Fun Fact Friday = Glorious

Posted: March 5, 2010 at 3:29 pm

Today I have nothing really to do. Well, besides laundry and grocery shopping, but we can pretend those don' t exist right now. πŸ˜‰ Just like photos will not exist in this post because - a) I don't have any and b) I'm being low key. πŸ˜‰

This morning I woke up and headed to the gym for my workout. I meant to do the Power class, but I thought it started at 8:30 not 9:30. Oops! So I just did 40 minutes of cardio instead - 30 on the elliptical and 10 on the treadmill. Then I stretched myself out afterwards.

Now, I am just chilling with some coffee, some blog reading/updating, and then my book while M naps her morning away. This afternoon I plan on getting outside with Makenzie to play with her new car and go on a walk since it is a glorious day. Sunny & 50s! Not my ideal temps but worthy of some outdoor time. As much as I love days that are filled with fun and things to do, I don't think I could survive without at least one day a week to just be chill. Today is that day and I am savoring every minute. Especially since tomorrow the busy life returns with an am spin class, an 11:00 hair appointment, and dinner out with friends. πŸ˜€

Fun Fact Friday! Tell me the truth πŸ˜€

  1. My favorite season is the spring when everything starts blooming and is new and beautiful again. So refreshing!
  2. My favorite song is Baby Got Back by Sir Mix A Lot. I like big butts and I cannot lie, you other brothers can't deny...

Now questions for you...

  • Do you thrive when busy or when you have time to not do anything? What makes you happiest?
  • What is your favorite season and favorite song?
  • Do you think I should take the plunge to get my hair a teeny tiny bit darker??? Like more of a light brown with less blonde or stick with my typical various shades of blonde all streaked in?

Giveaways to check out! From Therese at Healthy, Hott, Houswife and Naomi at One Fit Foodie.

I love summer for its laid back feel but nothing beat spring! Especially in the south πŸ˜‰

  2. I love having NOTHING to do, but am actually more productive when I am on a tight schedule!

  3. Danielle says:

haha I agree with your #1..not so much #2 πŸ˜‰

Take the plunge! Change is good and you can always dye it back if you don’t like it

  4. lisaou11 says:

    1. What makes me happiest? Nothing to do. Where do I thrive me? When I’m busy :).

    2. Favorite Season: Fall..favorite song. Ah, way too har.d

    3. Change! Change is good and like she said above, if you dont like it, you can ch ange it!

  5. peanutbutterfingers says:

i like you blonde, but then again i’m a little partial to blondes, myself. πŸ˜‰ i’m sure you’d look gorgeous either way!

  6. Morgan says:

I am more productive when i have things to do, but love having nothing on my plate!
    have an awesome weekend!

  7. Glad you’re having a laid-back day! I HAVE to have those…I like staying busy at work but I am definitely a “I need my down time” kinda girl…chilling on the couch with 30 min sit-coms or a soak in the tub with a magazine are must haves. Hmm.. fave song? I just bought: “Why don’t we just dance?” as my ringtone on my new phone by Josh Turner πŸ™‚ I think the TRUE statement is that you love Spring. And I think adding some light brown would be great! I know mine looks better with a brown base than with a blonde. Have a great day!

  8. Ameena says:

I am quite jealous of your mellow day…I could really use one of those right now. But I do thrive when I am busy!

I love the fall when the holidays are around the corner and LA finally gets a little cooler.

    Have a great weekend!

  9. Sweet Cheeks says:

I thrive off of being productive, but every once in a while, I find that I NEED those times where I have nothing at all to do. Keeps me sane. πŸ˜‰

I say go for the darker hair!!

  10. Summer is my favorite time of the year. Down time? What’s that??? LOL

  11. I love the fall. It starts to get cooler outside and you have all the holidays to look forward to. It’s my favorite time of year.

I love down moments… It’s so nice to just let your mind relax πŸ™‚

  12. Lindsey says:

I think number 1 is true, although number 2 would be pretty funny πŸ™‚

I love fall, it’s beautiful and holidays are around the corner!

    I like you blond!

  13. I’m with you, I need at least one day a week to just chill out.

My favorite season is FALL! I love going to the pumpkin patch and drinking cider. My fiance’s birthday is Halloween, so it makes the day really special, too.

For your fun fact, my head is telling me this is a lie, but I’m going to say that your fav song is sir mix a lot!

  14. enjoy your chill day….im in overdrive! cant even believe i am commenting but read you comment and popped over here to say hi πŸ™‚

  15. The weather in SC was beautiful too. I popped outside for a quick 3 miler after work.

I love to be busy, but only slightly busy. Busy enough that I have a few things to accomplish, but not stressed.

  16. sophia says:

I think a fair balance makes me the happiest…when I’m too busy, I’m majorly stressed out…though secretly, I do enjoy being productive. When I have nothing much to do, I feel lazy, which also makes me stressed out…haha!

My favorite season is probably the late spring and early summer…good weather, and all the fresh produce bounty!

  17. Marcia says:

I am at my best when I am frazzled! Don’t ask. πŸ˜‰
I am happiest when my kids are happy. I really am. It makes it grin from ear to ear. Love them!
Fave Song is too HARD to answer. We LOVE music in our house so it just depends on what mood I am in and the situation. I can rock out to almost anthing (almost)!
My favorite season is fall all the way. I love the temps. I live in W. MI where the temps. can be extreme in the winter/summer. Fall is great weather. I can wear jeans and a tee shirt or shorts and a tank and feel content.

I say go darker this time around. Try something new. I think it will be fun and adventerous. I just started being brave and getting new do’s myself. FUN!
Your fave season is Spring. Baby Got Back is a classic though….. πŸ™‚

  18. I love days when you have nothing to do. They’re so gloriously refreshing. Have an awesome and relaxing weekend πŸ™‚

  19. lindsayruns says:

I think number one is the truth, and you should go darker!

  20. Vee says:

Oh, having nothing to do sounds great! I’ve been so busy recently and I can not wait for one of those days!
I think no 1 is the truth?

  21. Susan says:

Yay, so happy you got a low-key day πŸ™‚ My favourite season is spring too. I like knowing I have nothing but warm weather ahead. Can I choose the entire Beatles discography as my favourite song? πŸ˜›

I thrive on being busy, but I need periods of doing absolutely nothing in-between (maybe, one or two times a week) to keep me going. Otherwise I burn out, which is not cool.

I like your light hair, but I also like experimenting with hair colour more πŸ˜‰

  22. Jenn N. says:

It’s hard to pick a favorite season b/c I live in southern Cal and they are all fairly the same. I love the fall here b/c the air is so clear and I can see the Channel Islands off the coast. It’s SO BEAUTIFUL. In my home state of Indiana I loved the changing leaves of fall. My favorite song is probably Love Song by the Cure. It’s perfect for my relationship with God. It’s also a wonderful song for my relationship with my soulmate (hubby).

I prefer nothing to do but I’m not very productive then. On the other hand, I really DON’T like being REALLY busy b/c I get overwhelmed easily.

Color your hair! Why not you can alway change it back!
