Travel Day And Random survey

Posted: May 19, 2011 at 5:57 pm

Hello from Baltimore, friends! I have made it safely and had an enjoyable day of travel. I started my day off with a very filling breakfast. Oats In A Jar!

IMGP1211

The mix included oats, coconut, raisins, and a sliced banana for extra filling power. Something about adding the banana makes oats so filling. I almost had a hard time finishing it. Almost. 😉

I got to the airport with plenty of time to head to my gate. I chilled with some Bible reading before boarding to help pass the time. Somehow my full belly from breakfast didn’t last as long as I hoped, so I pulled out my snacks to munch while waiting to board. What is with the bottomless pit days I have had recently??? I just go with it.

IMGP1213

On the flight, I worked on a bit of blog stuff that didn’t require the internet and tried to nap for a bit. Exciting stuff. The flight went by quickly enough and before I knew it we had landed. Good thing too because my tummy was a-grumbling. I knew I needed to get a filling meal in my belly since I was unsure what time I would be eating again.

After getting off the plan I stopped at a place called Portbelly Sandwiches in the terminal and picked up a salad. It had grilled chicken, cranberries, blue cheese, walnuts, apples, and onion in a vinaigrette dressing.

Once I finally got to the hotel and found my lovely roomie, Katie, and some other friends, Heather and Alicia, we headed out for a quick trip to Whole Foods and some exploring.

Shortly we will head down to the welcome mixer for the evening. So excited! While I entertain myself decorating name tags and making new friends, you can entertain yourselves with this random survey Chelsey and Gabriela recently posted. I’m always a sucker for these kinds of things.

1. What is your best friend’s Mom’s name? Kathy – Am I the only one who finds this a completely odd question?

2. Where is the weirdest place you have a mole? On the top of my right foot. I also have two birth marks – one on my left leg and one on my lower back. I’m a spotty person.

3. Who was the hottest teacher you ever had? I don’t ever remember having a hot teacher. I do remember the creeper Mr. Volpi who would always rub the girl students’ shoulders though. shudder

4. Have you ever made out in a movie theater? I dated in high school so what do you think? That would be a yes. And now, I officially freak at the thought of M becoming a teenager!

5. What body part do you wash first? My feet. Not really…but does anyone do that?

6. Do you hover over the toilet in public bathrooms? I am totally not a germ worrier and I don’t hover unless the bathroom just seems skeevy and gross.

7. What’s the strangest talent you have? This question makes me sad. I don’t have any talents…unless you count my uncanny ability to eat large amounts of dessert a talent.

8. Do you have an innie or an outtie? An innie.

9. Do you parallel park or drive around the block? Drive around the block. You do NOT want me trying to parallel park near you.

10. Which shoe do you put on first? I think I usually put my right one on first, although I never noticed it until really thinking about it. Interesting.

11. Have you ever been cow-tipping or snipe-hunting? What is snipe hunting? I have shot those clay discs before and that’s about as country hunter chick as I get.

12. If you had to choose to not ever wash your bed sheets again or not wash your bath towel ever again, which would you rather not wash? Bed sheets. You would probably be very bothered at how rarely I wash those anyways.

13. What was your childhood nickname? My dad used to call me Christy, which I hated. In high school I had the nickname Peaches from my good friend. And then was honored with the nickname Tinabell later.

14. When is the last time you played the air guitar? Don’t recall. But I did play an Elmo guitar a few days ago. How many of you can say that? I win all the cool points!

15. Have you ever bitten your toenails? WHY would someone do this?!?!

16. How do you eat your cookie? Slowly nibble around the edges to save the chewier center for last. Now, that just sounds dirty.

17. When working out at the gym, do you wear a belt? Dang it! I left my belt at home. Fitbloggin friends…anyone have a belt I can borrow for the run tomorrow? 😉

18. Name something you do when you’re alone that you wouldn’t do in front of others. Alone? I don’t understand the meaning of this word. What does it mean? I vaguely remember hearing it before children….

19. How often do you clean out your ears? Maybe once a week?

20. Do you scrunch or fold your toilet paper? Fold. Scrunching just seems uncomfortable to me for some reason.

21. Do you have any strange phobias? I have this strange gut feeling and fear that I will end up facing a terrible illness or accident someday in my life.

22. If you had to make up a question because it annoys you that the survey was missing question #22, what question would you ask? Mine = Why am I such a nerd that I had to find a question for #22?

23. Do you freak out when you feel a sneeze coming on while you’re driving? No. Kind of ironic considering my big fear. You would think I would spaz over everything. You would also think I’m a meticulous driver. And you would be wrong.

I sincerely hope my new Fitbloggin’ friends don’t refuse to be my friend now after reading this hot mess of randomness. I promise I’m not crazy. Well, not totally anyways.

  • Do you ever have randomly super hungry days?
  • What is your strangest talent?

  3. Lauren says:

Have fun at Fitbloggin! I have those days where I’m so hungry, and I’m snacking all day. I just go with it.

  4. Melissa says:

Oh my goodness–I have been ravenous all day today, too! What IS that???

And I am 100% with you on being able to consume large quantities of dessert. I can put down an embarrassing amount of cookies, cake, ice cream . . . yeah.

  5. I always seem to be hungrier when I travel. I don’t know why, but I am. You met up with Heather! I love her! Have a great time Tina!

  6. lindsay says:

have a great time and give everyone a hug for me please!

  7. Oh strange talents are hilarious…and I dont think I have any! I can curl my tongue in 3 parts…does that count?

  8. Have a great time at fitbloggin!

My strangest talent..hmmm….I am extraordinarily good at hoola hooping! hehe

  9. Mac says:

Your oats in a jar make me want to dominate my jar of peanut butter just so I can have some oats in a jar tomorrow… too bad that would involve demolishing 3/4 a jar.

  10. Those questions are completely random, but great job at answering them 🙂 have a great weekend ~ can’t wait to hear all about it.

  11. Dorry says:

I have a lot of super hungry days – usually I can determine why, but sometimes it’s totally random. And I just go with it and eat! 🙂

  12. I actually heard it wasn’t good to clean out your ears–the wax is there for a reason…it protects your ears…or something like that.

I am not a germ worrier either. I figure germs are ALWAYS around and I haven’t gotten sick yet, so I just go with it.

  13. You are now a hungry runner – get used to it 😀

Glad you made it there safely, love!

  14. Julie says:

If any one ever offers to take you snipe hunting – pass.

My strangest talent has got to be based around my passion for my dogs. I’ve never picked a bad one!!!

I will take you on in the dessert eating forum any day, lady!

I was super hungry today and yesterday. I’ve been running more though.

  15. I’m a toilet paper folder too!!!! 🙂 Have the best time this weekend!

  16. haha great survey! I totally agree with you about the addition of banana its like magic filler! i can add banana to my oats and BOOM they make it 10x more filling and delicious! 🙂

my mom and I always joke about how when we travel it always makes us hungry! we always pack lots of little snacks because I think we legit just graze all day long while traveling!

    have fun in B-more!

  17. Ela says:

Have an awesome time there–so cool that you’re on that trip.

Bottomless pit days are normal I think…

Loved your answers to those q’s, except that your ‘no special talents’ comment had me stumped. You’re a tall glass of talent, girl–you’re a fine writer, a great mom, a talented runner, a committed Christian who is active in her faith both with other believers and the rest of us… You’re awesome!

    love
    Ela

  18. Parita says:

I definitely have super hungry days that come out of no where….it’s kinda weird! Have fun at the conference…can’t wait to read about it all!

  19. I usually have one super-hungry day a week… it’s usually Thursday, actually. I think it’s because I tend to eat much much lighter during the work week, so by Thursday, my body is saying “feeeed me!”

Have a great time at Fitbloggin’ – try not to miss the little ones too much, and just enjoy that *alone* time 😉

  20. Lee says:

    Have a great time!!

I definitely have super hungry days. I can blow bubbles off my tongue. Does that count as a strange talent?

  21. Michelle says:

    Have a GREAT time!!

I have very random super hungry days every week. Usually on a rest day too.

Super weird talent? I can hyperextend my knees and my feet can go backwards. Also, because my legs are super long I can wrap them like a pretzel and walk on my knees. I know everyone is always REALLY jealous!

  22. Yes I have randomly super hungry days!

And I remember a teacher at my high school who would give back rubs — yuck.

  23. YES! Some days I can shovel food in my mouth and still be hungry.. love/hate those days. I just try to go with it!

  24. If I haven’t had a good night’s sleep, I’m usually starving the next day no matter how much I eat… and my weird talent is that I’m a badass rapper. Like I can hear a rap song a few time and know all the lyrics by heart. It’s a pretty impressive skill lol…

  25. Lauren says:

    Have so much fun! 🙂

  26. Mandy says:

Have a wonderful time! Hope the kiddos are feeling better! I love Potbelly by the way— they have really good sandwhiches 🙂

  28. Ewwwies! Everyone hates “the creeper.” Haha. I love Q&A though. Enjoy Baltimore!

  29. jobo says:

Cute picture! Have a great time!! (and I like your airport choices..I am always looking for good food choices when I am traveling!)

  30. I think it’s so cool that as soon as bloggers meet each other they go to Whole Foods- I try dragging my friends to Whole Foods and they don’t enjoy wandering the aisles like I do, haha!

  31. The salad looks completely delicious! I have randmom super hungry days during that time of the month!

  32. glad you arrived safely! Strangest talent? I dont know even!!

  33. Ew. One of my sisters (won’t name any names…but she may or may not have been featured on my blog this week) bit her toenails ALL.THE.TIME. when we were growing up. Soooo ick. Thankfully I can claim her still because she doesn’t do it anymore. 🙂

  34. LauraJayne says:

Love the quiz AND the salad! Hope you have a great time and I know you are going to look awesome tonight in whatever you decide to wear! Have fun!

  35. I have that bottomless pit feeling today. I keep walking around my kitchen thinking “what can I eat?”. Note to self: Must stay out of kitchen! Have an amazing time at fitbloggin! I wish I could go to something like that 🙂

  36. Karolina says:

I hope your time at fitbloggin is awesome! i’m sad that I can’t make it this year. I had a creeper teacher in middle/high school too- loved the shoulder and the mid back…rubbing right on the bra strap. Lovely huh? *shudder*

  37. kerinb says:

I am always extra hungry when travelling although in my case it is probably because it is any excuse to sample coffee shops. I live in the UK and sooooo wish we had wholefoods here. Boo hoo! Your weekend looks like a perfect trip to me. xxx
