I Think I’m Catching On + Features

After running a half marathon yesterday, my body wanted to do nothing today. Mentally, I’m over the whole thing and not frustrated anymore (thanks for letting me vent)…but physically my body isn’t over it. Today immediately became an extra rest day.

I went to church this morning, then got in some active recovery with grocery shopping. I did the following moves for an easy full body workout:

  • 1 aisle walking lunges pushing the cart
  • 1 aisle leg lifts while pushing the cart
  • 1 aisle sprinting to the end and back with the cart
  • push-ups against the handle bars of the cart at the end of each aisle
  • repeat until done shopping

And I’m so not serious. I hope you know I’m not that much of a jerk-face to do a workout while picking up groceries. Unless you count speed shopping, so I could get home as quickly as possible to crash for a 2.5 hour nap.

I think I’m catching on to this napping thing. And I think I need to find a way to make every Sunday long-nap day. Winking smile

Unexpected Free Day

Today’s schedule originally had me pretty busy. Long run in the morning. Baking after that. A hair appointment in the afternoon. A party to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday tonight. Too bad none of that worked out.

My hair stylist came down with something, and I had to reschedule my appointment. No big deal. These split ends aren’t going anywhere. She’ll just have more fun with them next week.

Makenzie is pretty sick as well with a bad croup like cough and a high fever off and on. Can’t leave her for the night, so no party. Bummer. I was looking forward to hanging out with some good friends! And making/eating some Better Than Crack Brownies.

Why, hello there, unexpected free day! I would rather have done my original plans, but today didn’t shape out so badly either. I snuck in a nap, folded laundry, and got Makenzie’s birthday party invitations filled out.

IMGP1721-1

Good thing, too. I have her party planned for three weeks from today. I’m on top of things. Clearly. <--- where is the sarcasm font???

I guess it’s time for me to sign off and enjoy my time soothing childhood aches and pains, scrounging up something for dinner, and catching up with the DVR or perhaps even picking up a book that doesn’t talk peroneus longus and sternocleidomastoid. As fun as that is, it will be a nice change. Winking smile

It’s kind of funny. I become a certified personal trainer and the first workouts I turn to this week come from someone else. The book came in for me at the library last week and, after flipping through it, I couldn’t wait to give the circuits a go. Making The Cut includes a lot of […]
