Witness The Magic

Posted: February 16, 2011 at 12:27 pm

Last night I stayed up late doing a whole lot of this…

[Did you witness the magic of my sister & I’s skills?]

Bedtime for me is 9 pm right now with my 2 middle of the night wake-up calls. I went to sleep at 11. So I slept in this morning until around 7:30 and lost my morning productive time.

Normally that would drive me crazy to lose that time. Today - totally worth it. And to make this post worth it to you – here’s some kiddo cuteness. 😀

Question of the Day – What is your bed time? What is sleeping in for you?

  1. Usually 10 pm is the bedtime I aim for, but 10:30 is more when I actually get in bed. And I wake up at 7 almost every day, unless I was out late the night before or I’m getting in an early workout!

  2. Karen says:

Such cute kids!!! My bed time is usually 9:30…on the weekend I might get a little crazy and stay up until 10:30. During the week my 5:30 wake up call comes way to early to stay up any later than 9:30. With kids, sleeping in doesn’t happen often but if I get to sleep until 7:30 that would be truly sleeping in.

I don’t know how I ever slept later than that in college/high school. Now if I wake up too late I feel like half my day has wasted away!

  3. My bedtime is usually around 9-ish because I get up fairly early and am at work by 7. Sleeping in is 8am. REALLY sleeping in is 8:30.

  4. Your kiddies are ADORABLE. And that video of you and your sis – hysterical. Puppet show!

  5. Sarah says:

My bed time is 10 pm. I don’t always stick to it, and I should probably go to bed at 9 if I want to function at my best.
Sleeping in for me? Anything past 6:15, really.

  6. I try to be in bed no later than 11pm, but recently, I have been going to bed at midnight! Eek!
In an ideal world, I would be in bed at 10:30!
Sleeping in for me is anything later than 8am (I’m an odd college student!)

  7. Susan says:

Gaaah! So cute! Fun with family is waaay worth the lack of sleep. It’s important for your soul! I usually go to bed around midnight and am up at 8:30. Having afternoon/evening clients allows me to do that, and I could probably sleep forever!

  8. My bed time ranges from 9 to 11 (preferably closer to 9:30). It all depends on whether I am working out in the am.

  9. Becca says:

Your kids just get cuter every single day! 😀
And I love the video! 🙂

My bedtime varies. Last night I didn’t go to bed until after midnight, and I didn’t get out of bed until almost 10…
But that’s not typical! Normally I’m in bed by 11 or 12 and up by 8 or so, because my earliest class is 9:30. Today was a different story—class doesn’t start ’til noon.
If I have to be up for work at 9 (this Saturday), I set the alarm for around 7:30 or 8. If I have to be to church by 8 (like I will this weekend), the alarm is set for about 7.
The latest I’ve ever managed to sleep until is around 11:30. Because I’d been up until midnight or later the night before and had nowhere to be. Even when I stay up until 4 am or so (with friends; one time was 6 am for a church thing), I can’t sleep much past 8 or 9. =\
And those JH events that I chaperoned? I only slept maybe four hours at the most.

  10. Kelly says:

My bed time is anytime between 9 and 10. Sleeping in is 7:30 am. I am a grandma for sure. 🙂

  11. Mmmmm, sleep. Lately bedtime is 9:30…and I totally feel like an old lady, but I need that sleep!!!

  12. We usually go to sleep around 10:30, but both my husband and I were passed out on the couch before 9 last night. Sad.

  13. My goodness – M & B are SOOO cute!
My “get in bed” time on weeknights is 10:00ish. Then I usually end up reading for 30-45 min. I do find myself getting tired earlier and earlier these days though – but I get home late so 9:00 just seems too early for me!

  14. Kristi says:

I work at different times, so my sleep always depends on my schedule. If I have to get up in the morning I’m usually in bed by 8:30. I know it’s so early!!

  15. marcia says:

Haha! Elton John…… 😉 Love the pics.
Bedtime is usually 11pm….it works right now for me to put Miles on the potty at 11 and not have to worry about getting him up again in the early AM! Sleeping in for me is usually anything beyond 7:30 am!

    • Tina says:

I dont know where she got that one? Chest and piano maybe? And then pulls puppet show out of her ass. No wonder people think we cheat! LOL

  16. Kelly says:

I love how M “cheeses” in every picture! It is so cute!!

  17. I’m a morning person and my husband is a night owl and he works long days, often getting home at 8pm. So, I stay up a little later most days until 11pm or 11:30. I have to get up no later than 7am on weekdays to make a lunch for my son and a lunch and breakfast for my hubby. I really should go to bed earlier so I’m not dragging in the morning.

  18. Ahh, they are sooo cute!!! 🙂

Hmm there’s a big difference between what my bed time is and what I want it to be. I’d love to be in bed asleep by 11pm and up by 6:30a (which would allow for a morning workout before work). But currently my bedtime is 12:30a and I’m “sleeping in” until 7:30a and then rushing around like a crazy person for work.

While I like the idea of sleeping in, for some reason I don’t like sleeping past 9am (even on weekends). It feels like I have lost my favorite part of the day (mornings) when I do.

  19. Melie says:

And you found the muppet show from this demonstrations! Jeez, you are good!!! I usually go to bed around 12 and get up at 7 or so. So, sleeping in is anything after 8:30. I haven’t slept longer than 9 for such a long time….

  20. Lately I’ve been asleep by 9:30- haha! I guess things are just so busy that I’m whipped by the end of the day. Love the kid cuteness!

  21. Kacy says:

    Fun!

Bedtime is 9-10 during the week and 10-11 on weekends. Sleeping in is 8 a.m. and beyond 🙂

  22. Stephanie says:

I want to leap through the computer…come to your house and hold your babies while you play Cranium. 🙂 *Elton John* lol

  23. Cute pictures!!

Bedtime these days is between 10-11. It was earlier when Meghan was a newborn, though! And when I was working it was earlier as well. Sleeping in is anything 7:30am or later. That makes me feel old!!

  24. Jess says:

OMG I love the video of you and your sis playing cranium! I LOVE that game!! For the record, 11pm is wicked late for me too. During the week, I’m in bed and asleep between 9-10 since I’m up at 5:20 most days. The weekend I stay up a little later but not by that much (10:30 or 11 is “late” on the weekend).

  25. So cute!!!

Bedtime for me is 10pm but i’m usually on the couch fast asleep by 9:30. ha! (I get up at 6A every morning waking the Little up at 6:45)

  26. Caitlin says:

Ha, sleeping in? What is that? I find that no matter the bedtime, the work schedule, the day ahead, I am up at 7:30 every morning. Honestly, though, I don’t mind it. I feel like I get a heck of a lot more done when I start my day that early.

  27. My bedtime is 9:30 – I’m usually in bed by 9 and reading though. Some nights I can’t even read at all and so I go to bed at 9:00 because I’m so tired!

Sleeping in for me is 7:00. Sad.

  28. Such sweet kids. I think they look a lot like you!

  29. I would like my bedtime to be 10, but normally it is closer to 11. Sleeping in is around 7am for me. It is rare for us to sleep much later than that.

  30. Best onesie ever 🙂

My sister and I totally dominate parties when we play games and are on the same team. It’s a connection only siblings could have!

  31. Sarah R says:

That video was too funny! My bed time is usually around 10, but I’m finding myself getting tired earlier so I’ve snuck to bed before that several times in the last week. Sleeping in is anything past 7 any more.

  32. Angela says:

Most nights I aim to be in bed at 10, and earlier is even better!! Sleeping in for me on the weekend is around 8ish, but my body usually wakes up at 7 and I get so frustrated on days when I have all the time in the world to sleep longer!

  33. Shannon says:

I try to be in bed at 9, 9:30 at the latest. Noah still needs one night time feeding (last night was 2) so I need to get to bed early. I’m usually up at 6:30, but with 2 feedings last night, we both slept in until 7:30.

  34. Love the kiddo pics! I’m usually in bed by 10:00, and 8:00 is sleeping in for me.

  35. My ideal would be in bed by 10 pm, up by 6 am on ordinary days and up at 5 am to run some mornings (only in summer). I have a hard time making myself go to bed, though, and I often end up kicking myself for staying up too late. Sleeping until 7:30 or later feels like sleeping in to me.

Your kids are so cute. Your son is totally smiling, even though he’s so little. 🙂

  36. I love sleeping in, but for me that’s like 7:00!

  37. my bedtime is usually 10pm and sleeping in is anything later than 8am. i usually get up at 6, but sometimes a little earlier and sometimes a little later!

love love love the cuteness in this post! 🙂

  38. looove, love the video!

my bedtime on weekdays is about 10:30-11 since I have to get up at 6:45. buuut sometimes I find myself awake at 11:40. oh well, I try!

I’ve always been a night owl, so it’s hard for me to force myself to go to bed.

I must still be 7 years old. 😉

  39. I usually go to bed around 10:30 and rise between 7 and 7:30.

Cute kiddo pics!!! That little guy sure is getting big!

  40. I usually sleep 9-10pm to 630-7am. I require a lot of sleep!

THe two kiddos look soo much alike, I know I keep saying that but it’s true.

  41. Ela says:

I like to be in bed before 11, and if I’m not up before 7 I feel like I’ve missed half the day, which is a tough feeling. Sounds like you’re similar, and you did a great job of letting go of it.
    love
    Ela

  42. Wow, your little guy is adorable…so sweet. 🙂 And his big sis, too!

My bedtime varies…but usually by 10 I’m tired. Lately, I feel like I need extra sleep so I’ve been getting up around 7:30. Oh man–more than 8 hours! Maybe that’s why I’m tired?!

  43. Such cute kiddos!! They must add a smile (multiple) to your everyday!

I have been on a wacky sleep schedule lately. I haven’t been able to get to sleep before 1am most days. No wonder I can’t get myself out of bed at 5am for the gym!

  44. Rach says:

Hahaha! I love how she gets from “boobs” to “puppet show”… gotta love sisters! 🙂

Your kiddos are just so PRECIOUS, by the way! 🙂

  45. Jen says:

I wake up at 4:15, so bedtime is anytime around 9. I hate sleeping and really wish I didn’t require it at all. Sleeping in for me would be sleeping until 6.

  46. Missy says:

Oh goodness that is the cutest video!

  47. My bedtime is 10. I try my hardest to get to bed then so I can have at least 7 hours of sleep. Friday and Saturday though I indulge in an extra hour. 😀

For me sleeping in is anything past 7. Yeah…I know I’m weird. 😀

  48. Lauren says:

Funny! Cranium always makes some funny memories. I have early morning classes, so my usual bedtime during the week is 10:30-11ish, but my roommate stays up until 3 or 4 am multiple times a week! Good thing I’m a heavy sleeper so I don’t wake up when she comes in that late.

  49. My bedtime is midnight, but it usually turns into 1. And sleeping in is 11 or 12! haha.

  50. Sana says:

I am in bed by midnight, but I should sleep at 11. But I fall asleep at 1
