One Fail, One Success
Hey everyone!!! Are we all having a great weekend?? I know I am! Last night was so much fun. We went to our friends Dan & Nicole's wedding rehearsal. They are getting married in this really cool, artsy place and it was fun to check it out while the hubs was practicing with everyone else actually in the wedding. After the rehearsal, we all went to dinner at a restaurant in downtown ATL called Social. It was pretty yummy. Not rock-my-face-off good, but better than a typical meal. The night was a FAIL because my camera failed me. It was too dark to get any sort of picture without the ridiculous flash. So I have no foodie pics! And when I actually had ones that would be exciting! 🙁 Oh well. I will just have to describe the goods.
It started off with a spinach salad (mmmm spinach :)) with gorgonzola cheese (my fave), dried cherries, walnuts, and a date vinaigrette. Holy yum! This was the best part of the meal! I liked it even better than dessert. And THAT is saying something 😉 The main course was a filet mignon brochette with cous cous. Hmmmm. The meat was tender, but it was about 3 bites worth. It was served basically like a kebob and had a bite of filet, 2 chunks red bell pepper, and what I thought was squash on each of the 3 kebobs. The squash...was lemon! And you had no idea until you put it in your mouth because it 100% looked like squash in the darkness. That was an, um, interesting bite. All of us did this too, so it's not due to the aforementioned blondeness. And the cous cous wasn't really cous cous-y. Each of the 'granules' (for lack of a better word???) was very large for cous cous. So that was odd. Still tasted decent, though. And the final course was a dessert of a dark chocolate tart with orange marmalade. This was good, but the orange was a bit too overpowering. I still enjoyed it all though! 😀 Shocker, right? 😉 And to top it off...some decaf coffee...with salt. Yes, they actually brought out salt with the coffee on accident. Wow. So, as I said, this wasn't the best dinner but at least it was still enjoyable with good company and some tastiness. And fabulous wine. How could I have forgotten that?! Two delightful glasses of Pinot Noir.
Today, has already started as a success though! 🙂 We woke up and hit up the gym. I went to spin, which was an awesome class. After the class, I decided to talk with the instructor who is also the head of group fitness at my gym. I went up to ask her if she could give me some information on where to get started with getting certified and if she knew of anywhere that I could look for picking up some classes or if our gym was looking for anyone in the future. Well, she said they are wanting to add a few more kick classes and so it would be great if I was interested in that.
I told her I would be and so we got to talking more when the main kick instructor walked in. I've taken her class a few times and talked with her quite a bit as well and she clapped her hands and said "OH yes!! Put these dates on your calendar because you are doing this!" when she heard I was interested. Soooo....it seems like I may have a probable opportunity to pick up teaching some in the near future. The training and certification isn't until the first week of April, but they sounded very interested in working with me and getting things going. 😀 I'll keep you all updated! And I know it would just be for the Les Mills kick, but since I'm wanting to start out small and many of the local gyms use their classes I think it should be okay. I might do spinning too if the director decides she needs more of those or ends up wanting to drop some of her classes to someone else, which she mentioned. 🙂
Well, I have to get going. I just wanted to get you up to speed on all of that. We have to hit up the grocery store today and get ready for the wedding tonight. And before I forget - stay tuned early this week for an exciting post!!! 😀
