How is everyone doing today? Are we all groaning about it being Monday already? I partly am. Well, actually it's more just groaning about it being raining and icky today. And after such a gorgeous afternoon yesterday. What gives?!

Yesterday, after we had already established it as being a good weekend, I started to feel better again, so we took advantage of the enjoyable weather. Peter, the gal, and I headed to a local park for some playtime. We hit up the swings, the slide, and...the sidewalk! Makenzie faceplanted on the concrete as we were walking over to look at a rec baseball game that was in progress. Poor girl screamed bloody murder for a couple minutes, that is until a dog walked past and she got distracted by saying "dog dog dog dog dog woof woof dog dog dog dog" and we knew she was okay. She even smiled for her battle wounds pictures, bearing her slightly scraped nose and forehead with pride.

We headed out not too long after that to hit up the grocery store for a few items on the way home, as well as Subway for dinner. $5 footlongs are back and I love that for a perfect cheap and easy dinner. Eaten while watching this movie...

Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I liked it. Even though it was long, it didn't seem to drag on. That makes it good in my book. I am pretty easy to please with movies. Books, on the other hand, I am a tougher critic. My current book will be getting rave reviews from me though (review coming soon). I was actually bummed I was too tired to read more of it last night since we hit the sack right after the movie.

That brings us to today. I woke up feeling better. Not perfect, but all the sick feeling was in my head, which I can definitely handle. I decided to hit up spin this morning since I missed working out last week. I always go by the above-the-neck-sick being okay to work out with. It was a good class. I was winded and tired way more easily than normal, but I got through and felt better afterwards. And as the day has gone on, I continue to feel better. Awesome ๐Ÿ™‚

And I'll finish this post with...the answer to Fun Fact Friday!!! The correct answer is....

#1! Okay, not something to be proud of so I don't know why the exclamation point. But, it is true. So, the story behind it...I had been dating this guy for awhile and we were better off as friends, but I guess we both were too afraid to end the relationship and hurt the other. So, what did I do? I cheated on him. Somehow it made sense then. And I didn't just cheat on him. I basically started up another relationship with my on again off again ex. The one I was crazy about for the 7 years of together/apart madness. He actually had a long term girlfriend too, but we just couldn't stay away from each other. We were each other's first loves and for some reason could never quite get it together, so opted to find any way to make our relationship full of drama. Enter cheating on our significant others for over a year. Smart, right? Eventually, the guy who was my boyfriend at the time and I did break up to be just friends and we are still on a friendly basis. But I never told him and I don't believe he has any idea to this day, over 6 years later. Me and my fellow cheater were together with lots of drama another 1.5 years after that, then off again, and then attempting to be on again when I met Peter and realized what a true man was like and ditched him for good. ย Yea, whirlwind. So long story short. I was a b**ch and the whole "once a cheater, always a cheater" idea is not true. ๐Ÿ˜€

One Fail, One Success

Hey everyone!!! Are we all having a great weekend?? I know I am! Last night was so much fun. We went to our friends Dan & Nicole's wedding rehearsal. They are getting married in this really cool, artsy place and it was fun to check it out while the hubs was practicing with everyone else actually in the wedding. After the rehearsal, we all went to dinner at a restaurant in downtown ATL called Social. It was pretty yummy. Not rock-my-face-off good, but better than a typical meal. The night was a FAIL because my camera failed me. It was too dark to get any sort of picture without the ridiculous flash. So I have no foodie pics! And when I actually had ones that would be exciting! ๐Ÿ™ Oh well. I will just have to describe the goods.

It started off with a spinach salad (mmmm spinach :)) with gorgonzola cheese (my fave), dried cherries, walnuts, and a date vinaigrette. Holy yum! This was the best part of the meal! I liked it even better than dessert. And THAT is saying something ๐Ÿ˜‰ The main course was a filet mignon brochette with cous cous. Hmmmm. The meat was tender, but it was about 3 bites worth. It was served basically like a kebob and had a bite of filet, ย 2 chunks red bell pepper, and what I thought was squash on each of the 3 kebobs. The squash...was lemon! And you had no idea until you put it in your mouth because it 100% looked like squash in the darkness. That was an, um, interesting bite. All of us did this too, so it's not due to the aforementioned blondeness. And the cous cous wasn't really cous cous-y. Each of the 'granules' (for lack of a better word???) was very large for cous cous. So that was odd. Still tasted decent, though. And the final course was a dessert of a dark chocolate tart with orange marmalade. This was good, but the orange was a bit too overpowering. I still enjoyed it all though! ๐Ÿ˜€ Shocker, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰ And to top it off...some decaf coffee...with salt. Yes, they actually brought out salt with the coffee on accident. Wow. So, as I said, this wasn't the best dinner but at least it was still enjoyable with good company and some tastiness. And fabulous wine. How could I have forgotten that?! Two delightful glasses of Pinot Noir.

Today, has already started as a success though! ๐Ÿ™‚ We woke up and hit up the gym. I went to spin, which was an awesome class. After the class, I decided to talk with the instructor who is also the head of group fitness at my gym. I went up to ask her if she could give me some information on where to get started with getting certified and if she knew of anywhere that I could look for picking up some classes or if our gym was looking for anyone in the future. Well, she said they are wanting to add a few more kick classes and so it would be great if I was interested in that.

I told her I would be and so we got to talking more when the main kick instructor walked in. I've taken her class a few times and talked with her quite a bit as well and she clapped her hands and said "OH yes!! Put these dates on your calendar because you are doing this!" when she heard I was interested. Soooo....it seems like I may have a probable opportunity to pick up teaching some in the near future. The training and certification isn't until the first week of April, but they sounded very interested in working with me and getting things going. ๐Ÿ˜€ I'll keep you all updated! And I know it would just be for the Les Mills kick, but since I'm wanting to start out small and many of the local gyms use their classes I think it should be okay. I might do spinning too if the director decides she needs more of those or ends up wanting to drop some of her classes to someone else, which she mentioned. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, I have to get going. I just wanted to get you up to speed on all of that. We have to hit up the grocery store today and get ready for the wedding tonight. And before I forget - stay tuned early this week for an exciting post!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

And also, check out these two giveaways...
