some versatile entertainment

Happy weekend!! I’m assuming that many of you having the time to read this post right now are not part of the Healthy Living Summit crew. We can be jealous together. 😉

Since it is the weekend, I felt like doing a fancy-free type of post for today. Earlier this week, Susan from The Great Balancing Act passed along a blog award to me. Thanks Susan for giving me something to blog about today something fun for the weekend! I thought so.

Versatile_Blogger_Award[1]

Being a “versatile blogger”, I’m supposed to share some random tidbits about myself. Number one = I like killing two birds with one stone. Hence, I will incorporate the recent “30 Days of Insight” topics I slacked on. That works, right? Don’t try to argue. I use big words like “hence” and will talk you into a corner if you try. 😉 I guess we shall dive right on in.

Earliest thing you can remember. It’s kind of depressing. Maybe this isn’t good for the weekend. Fine, I’ll share. My first memory is crying my eyes out after my first little puppy, Tiffany, got ran over by a car. I remember sobbing into my pillow about it at 3 years old. Which reminds me…didn’t my parents know about the “dog went to the farm in the sky” rule?

Favorite cover of your favorite song. Well, I can’t pick that. I don’t know my favorite song. I do know Aerosmith is one of my favorite bands, though. And I remember being very impressed with the rendition of “Dream On” they did on Glee. I guess that counts?

Someone you think would make a good president. I don’t want to get political so I will go with Caitlin. Maybe Operation Beautiful could achieve world peace? Oh, wait. That would make her the best candidate for Ms. America.

Five things you want to see change. Sheesh! I didn’t expect things this serious! I use a freebie pass on this one. I don’t think on Saturdays. I’m sure you can figure out things I think could stand change just by reading my blog regularly.

A dream you had this past week in detail. I dreamt that we went to our ultrasound appointment and found out we will be welcoming a baby boy in January. I had this same dream with baby M, except that it would be a girl. I’m even more convinced I will see a little wee-wee on that screen now.

Favorite picture ever taken of yourself. Hmmmm….maybe this one? I’m tired and not the most attractive looking in this picture, but it only shows one of the best moments of my life.

A memory that never fails to make you laugh. Remember the Hank’s Hoes story about my grandfather? That one!

I must wrap this post up now. I hope it entertained you well enough this Saturday. Also, a special shout-out to Jess – Eat Drink Breathe Sweat, my fellow Kick lover, for putting the button up on her site! Nab yourself a button, like you see to the left on my sidebar, to share on your blog or simply learn more about the 30 Days of Self Reflection coming in September HERE!

  • What’s your first memory or a memory that makes you laugh?
  • What’s the weirdest dream you’ve ever had? I once dreamt I was abducted by aliens. It was so vivid and I woke up throwing up. To this day it freaks me out!

  1. Oh no you are wrong about this picture. Actually you look gorgeous and so happy!

The weirdest dream I have seen a lot of times is that I m the president of the united states. And you know what is the weirdest part of it? That I m not even american!

  2. I am SOOOOO bummed and sad right now that I am not at HLS! We can be jealous together is right!! I was just reading all the bloggers recaps, and I am getting sadder by the minute, lol. It makes me feel a little better that I’m not the ONLY one home 😉

I have weird dreams every night! I was watching a marathon of Weeds yesterday and I had a dream that my Aunt was like Mary Louise-Parker and I saw someone that was sneaking around trying to catch her in action. There have been weirder ones though….haha. Have a great day!

Love that picture of you and newborn M!! 🙂 I can’t wait to find out what you’re having this time!!!!!!!!!!!

This will kind of answer both questions at the same time… I can remember one of the first dreams I ever had… I was married (WEIRD, b/c I was only like 3 while dreaming this!!) to a man who kind of looked like McGyver. And he was in the mall putting on a performance (maybe he was singing, I can’t remember??) and I was there with our baby in the stroller watching him. Is that not bizarre?!?!?! I wonder if I saw a movie or something that made me dream that… who knows!!

  4. Haha my first memory is also a bad one. It was when my mom first dropped me off at pre-school when I was two. I vividly remember seeing her leave and being HORRIFIED at the notion that I wasn’t leaving with her. Instead I had to say in some foreign environment.

This is one of the reasons I want to be a SAHM. Ha!

  5. Haha we both started our latest posts with mention of how we are not at HLS. Woe is US. :/

  6. SheFit says:

Glad to know that we can be jealous of The Healthy Summit together 🙂
You picture of you and your baby after birth is adorable! What a special memory

  7. Love Aerosmith too – seen them twice. I always have crazy weird dreams. This morning my dream was about going into an Asian market on a military base – I was drawn in by the kabocha squash displayed in the window.

  8. Heather says:

FUN post! I LOVE when people post random facts-it’s quite revealing.
I used to dream @ being abducted by aliens ALL THE TIME when I was little. Scary crap right there!
First memory:falling out of my crib trying to crawl out.
Recent dream: I went on a road trip with the Duggar family, including the cousin Amy and the grandma.
It was a very stressful dream :/

you look great in that picture – so happy! and the Hank’s Hoes story still cracks me up. totally reminds me of something my family would do!

I don’t remember my dreams – ever. is that unusual? I’m not sure. I must dream because there are mornings I wake up so restless and very ‘meh.’

next year’s HLS sounds great (if they hold it again)! it’s a date. :p

  10. Courtney says:

That’s cool you do figure competitions- my good friend’s mom does them too! That would be crazy if you knew her… lol. My earliest memory is of me playing with an Elmo toy at the foot of my parents’ bad, and I have so many weird dreams I can’t remember them all 😀

  11. My first memory? Picking cotton from the cotton trees with my older sister. We would clump it together and make HUGE balls of cotton. It was so much fun.

Wierdest dream? I was being chased by a big gorilla up stairs that never ended — like an escalator of some kind. I remember waking up from the dream, being scared, falling back asleep and being back in that same dream again — that has never happened before!

  12. Sami says:

awhhhh. my best friend just had a baby, so that picture of your baby girlll is simply beautiful to me! especially right now. i agree, caitlin would make a great prez! hehe.
