Going Dutch
Posted: March 12, 2010 at 12:47 amToday was a wonderful day! ๐ This morning I spent a bit of time relaxing, praying, and blogging early before the baby girl woke up. Then we played, had breakfast, and got all prettied up to head out for some Mommy Group time.
The meet-up place today was this local coffee and donut shop called Dutch Monkey Doughnuts.
It is catered to kids with little plastic tables for them to sit at and a good amount of space to run around. Although, I must say their donuts cater to the adults. And holy yum, were they good! Since I had just eaten breakfast, I didn't have one there but did get one for myself and one for Peter to go.
Blueberry Cream for me and Bavarian Chocolate for Peter.
Makenzie had a couple donut holes while we were there too. Which she devoured. In between flirting with her little friend and trying to climb on the shelf to the coffee fixings table.ย The girl takes advantage when sweets come her way. What can I say? I let my daughter live a little on occasion. ๐
The remainder of the day was pretty basic stuff - laundry, a run to the bank to deposit tutoring payments, creating Sunday's lesson, finalizing details for my friend's baby shower I am throwing next weekend, playing with baby M, and cooking up some dinner. Dinner, by the way, was sooooo delicious. I made a Slow Cooker Turkey Bean Burrito Bake that Danica from Danica's Daily posted last week.
Sorry for the fail at getting a finished product picture. I can promise you though, if you like Mexican, you have got to try it. ๐ And with that, I am out! Time to go read! So excited ๐
Hey!! Just catching up and so glad that you’re feeling so much better about everything today!! ๐ Those donuts look quite heavenly!! I don’t usually want/crave donuts, but when they’re looking me in the eye, it’s so hard to resist!! ๐
That’s exactly how I am. I LOVE donuts but they are easy to forget about. Until I see them. I was lucky I only left with one for myself. Haha!
Nice food pics…..yum!!
Yes, haha I am drooling over those pastries! And don’t worry about the bean burrito bake, it looks and sounds delicious!
Tina! I love the blonder hair on you! Looks great.
And oh my, I’m not one to turn down donuts. My motto is bring them on. Donuts to me are better than brownies, cookies, pie..the works!
Donuts are one of my favorite goodies too! Only since pregnancy though. I used to hate them. What was I thinking?! LOL
Have you seen The Time Traveler’s Wife on DVD yet? I watched it tonight, and I liked it a lot! I can’t remember the book’s exact plot that well, as I read it about 6 years ago, but from what I remember, the movie is very true to the book.
It did stick with the book very well. I saw it a few weekends ago and liked it. Not as much as the book of course, but it was still good!
Oh wow those doughnuts look awesome!
The cream/frosting on that donut loks wonderful! So glad you had such a nice day. I hope to find a fun Mommy’s group too when I have this baby.
Finding a group is a must! It is so nice to get out and have others to support you and have adult interaction with. I love it!
Looks like a fun day!
I love it when it’s time to go read too!
Your hair looks so good! That is a great pic of you two ๐ I can’t wait to have mommy/child play dates! Dinner looks good too; trying new recipes is always fun.
Wow, those donuts are beautiful! Have a great day!
You know, your blog makes me so excited to be a mommy one day =) One far, far away day, hehe (I guess I should find a boyfriend first, huh? haha!).
Those doughnuts look seriously drool-worthy. I’m a huge sweets-addict, and doughnuts are definitely in my top 10! You’ve got some serious willpower…I’d probably devour both of those babies in .546 seconds ๐
Oh it did take will power. As soon as I got home I emailed Peter to tell him I had one for him so I HAD to not eat his. He would have been pissed otherwise. LOL
I don’t know how I missed seeing you make this ๐ I think the leftovers are even better.
Such a cute pic of you and your little baby ๐
Thanks for linking up
