Life’s Important Questions

Some days my mind likes to wander to life’s important questions. The meaning of life? My purpose in this world? Am I a good mom/wife/friend? Nah!  I don’t go near that deep on a Friday afternoon. And apparently by Friday afternoon I get hit with a case of the scattered brains. So let’s chat some of life’s other important questions. Like…

Why do the teeny tiniest of paper cuts hurt so flipping bad?

IMGP1555-1

That negligible nick on the tip of my finger has driven me crazy this past week. As much as I type certainly doesn’t help matters either.

How does Chobani do citrus and yogurt together?

Every time I have either pineapple or lemon flavored Chobani I always get slightly weirded out. I  mean, in order to make buttermilk you combine milk and lemon. WHY doesn’t the yogurt get clumpy and funkified when sitting in a container with a dollop of lemon or pineapple? A great mystery to me.

Why does Makenzie insist on dressing in frills almost every other day of the week…but come school picture day I have to pull teeth to get her into a cute outfit?

Although I bet if I let her wear the purple tutu for pictures she would have been all over that.

Why does your own voice always sound so funny when you hear it played back? The recording from yesterday’s radio show is now up on the Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy blog. I had so much fun but it still sounds so weird to me to listen back to it.

If you’re interested, you can catch it here.

Why am I always hungrier on rest days? Seriously. I’m insatiable today! But I will happily go with it. I have no problem eating. Open-mouthed smile

Who would get a 4 handed massage?

4handedmassagesource

I recently received a group coupon deal in my email for a four handed massage. I’m all about massages, but that’s an area where I feel less is more. I don’t really know why, but it just seems borderline kinky.

Why can I only choose one giveaway winner? It’s a bummer, but those are the rules. So without further ado…

Congrats, Kris! Email me with your full name and shipping address so I can get your information to Champion pronto.

And be prepared – I could have another workout gear giveaway coming your way next week! But until then…

Why not enter to win some other awesome giveaways?

You know I love getting outside with my family. BlogHer has partnered with REI to create The Outdoor Pledge, a challenge to help people get outdoors with their family and friends for adventure, healthy living, and fun. Part of the pledge includes giveaways for TEN $100 gift cards to REI to help families get outside.

I may not be one of the bloggers hosting the giveaways, but I will happily let you know where to find ten chances to win $100. I’m being compensated by BlogHer to help spread the word, but why wouldn’t I spread the word on a message of getting active outdoors with your family? I love that! All it takes to enter and take The Outdoor Pledge is to leave a comment. You have 10 chances to win!  Please see the BlogHer round-up page (http://goo.gl/mXE4g) to see all the posts (scrolling on the sidebar) and enter. I’ve already put my name in the hat!

  • What “important” question is on your mind today?
  • Do you hate the sound of your own voice, too?

Something Is Amiss

5:30 am:  Wake up very begrudgingly. Want to stay snuggled under the covers with the best husband in the world.

5:45 am: Blog about the wonderful surprise from the best husband in the world.

6:30 am: Get dressed in my favorite Champion gear. Not only to nab a picture of my special giveaway items (have you entered?!), but also because I had workout plans later in the day.

11:30 am: Send the following Tweet.

Where is my mojo? I'm already seriously lacking motivation to get to the gym for spin this afternoon.

1:00 pm: Share the following conversation with Peter via Google Chat.

2:00 pm: Send another Tweet.

I am completely unmotivated for everything today. It's either sad...or amazing. Haven't decided which yet.

The fact that I’m sending tweets and reading a bazillion blogs smack in the middle of nap time should let you know exactly how unmotivated I’m feeling.

5:00 pm: Head to the park with the family instead of to spin class.

6:30 pm: Take a hot shower and crawl into pajamas.

The remainder of the night: Get the kids to bed quickly and crawl into bed early with a movie, something sweet, and something sweeter (Peter) for accommodating my complete lack of motivation when he knows I just need it…no questions asked.

Although, here’s hoping my motivation mojo will finally make a reappearance in my life soon! I don’t know what is up lately, but something is amiss.

And since that post clearly did not give the highest quality reading, here are a few other things I encourage you to please check out:

Help a girl out – When was the last time you lacked motivation? How did you get that mojo back in your life? Just ride it out or any tips/tricks?

Where The Change Happens

Posted: November 16, 2011 at 7:54 am

It’s kind of funny. I become a certified personal trainer and the first workouts I turn to this week come from someone else. The book came in for me at the library last week and, after flipping through it, I couldn’t wait to give the circuits a go. Making The Cut includes a lot of […]
