Cramming It In

Posted: August 18, 2011 at 4:00 pm

The time has come! As this post publishes, I am flying high on my way to Philly. Weeee!

IMGP0601

I can hardly believe this week has arrived. The past 24 hours have been a mad rush to say the least. Apparently I like to procrastinate and cram a million and one things into the last bit of time I have to leave. I had to pack, run a few errands, practice my presentation, and even hit up a consignment sale for some clothes for the kiddos this morning. Insane? Absolutely. Necessary? You betcha.

I also made sure to cram in quality time with the family. This morning I chose to forego hitting the gym for some extra snuggle time. I figure missing one four mile easy run won’t kill my training and I couldn’t bear the though of leaving my wonderful husband and the cozy bed. Good thing I know I will have plenty of running buddies for my other training runs this weekend. 😉

Besides morning snuggles, I had to eek out more time with my favorite people. Before dropping me off at the airport, we made a pit stop at Evos Cafe for lunch.

We had a deal to use up for this lunch spot and figured today would  make a great time to go. Can you think of a better send off than a delicious lunch with these smiling faces?

I didn’t think so.

I ordered a garden patty and avocado wrap with a side of fries and a raspberry iced green tea. And we can’t forget the cookie!

I love that Evos focuses on fresh food and ingredients and healthier cooking techniques – like baking instead of frying. It wasn’t the most amazing thing in the world but for a somewhat healthy quick stop it made a great choice.

Then, the time for goodbyes came. 🙁 I don’t like having to leave them, but I know fun times await. Plus, I will be so busy doing things like speaking, spreading the Love Grown love (come find me!), and simply soaking up the fabulous atmosphere. Let’s get this party started! Dinner and fro-yo date on the horizon tonight. Like I said – weeeee!

  • Do you like flying? Flying is fun to me. However, I get nervous really easily in cars. I always think I’m going to end up some awful accident.
  • Are you a procrastinator?

  2. I’m so excited to meet you at HLS, Tina!!

  3. Driving is far, far scarier than flying. You’ve got that right.

    See you in Philly!

  4. Hilary says:

Can’t wait to meet you tomorrow! I don’t mind flying….and I don’t think I’m as much of a procrastinator as I used to be.

  5. Maria says:

Have fun at HLS! I wish I was there to meet you!

I’m the exact same way about cars! Put me on an airplane any day, but I have irrational fears about car accidents; especially when it comes to my family or those close to me. I constantly worry when they have to drive long distances.

Anyway – have a great trip and I look forward to living vicariously through you 🙂

  6. Lisa says:

Evos looks very cool! Wish there was one near me!

  7. Love flying, unless it’s bumpy and it makes me feel sick! I can’t wait to meet you this weekend!!

  8. Have fun!!!

I actually love to fly – which is a good thing since I do it for work ALL the time. 🙂

  9. Whoop have a good time! I love flying… Totally need to more.

  10. Rebecca says:

That lunch looks delicious. And those smiling faces would make it a blast!

The only thing that bothers me about flying is the takeoff and the landing, when it reminds me of roller coasters. Hate that part. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced turbulence… Can’t remember. My first airplane ride was when I was small enough to curl up underneath the seat in front of my dad. I was a little thing. Dad said I slept practically the whole flight. Under the seat. Which is awesome. 🙂

  11. Evan Thomas says:

I can tell I’m going to be up late getting ready to travel.
    Can’t wait to meet you!

  12. SO EXCITED TO MEET YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Love Grown was my saboteur because I seriously lost all portion control with it around! Delish!

  13. Have fun! I love flying – hate driving! I normally am such a planner, never procrastinate. Unless of course, I schedule it… lol
    xoxo from Trinidad

  14. Have so much fun this weekend!! I wish I could be coming too!!! 🙂

  15. jobo says:

    Have a wonderful time!!

  16. Ani says:

That’s my neck of the woods! Check out the Marathon Grill in Philadelphia, go walking along the Schuylkill, and get in a run at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

    • Can’t wait to experience HLS through your blog. I am coming to terms with flying, it just makes for a long day. I live an hour from the airport so between the drive, the wait, the flight, it leaves me exhausted. I am also totally freaked out by any turbulence. Don’t like it at ALL!

  17. lindsay says:

have a WONDERFUL time and I can’t wait to hear all about it. Those smiles (M and B’s) will be waiting for you when you return.
    😛

  18. Lee says:

I thought that Evos’ fries were good, especially for baked, but I wasn’t too thrilled with their veggie burger.

Have a great time this weekend!

  19. I’ve never ever been on a plane before! Have a blast this weekend 🙂

  20. have so much fun tina!!! i cant wiat to see all of the pictures form everyones blog!!! 🙂

  23. Karolina says:

Have an awesome time at HLS! I so wish I could be there, and am looking forward to reading recaps and tweets about it!

  24. Your kids are honestly so stinkin’ cute! M’s big smile just cracks me up! Have an amazing time this weekend and good luck with your presentation!

P.S. I am the biggest procrastinator you will ever meet!

  25. Khushboo says:

I actually love flying and the whole excitement that builds up around it! Although flights over 6 hours kill me- that’s when I start to lose my mind despite all the on-board entertainment! Safe travels, Tina!

  26. So Happy for you Tina that you get to go to the Healthy Living Summit. I didn’t know about it and when I looked it was sold out. How did I not know about it?? Anyway, have a great time, I’m sure your presentation will be the Best!! Looking forward to hearing all about it!!

  27. I wrote this on Healthy Tipping Point too–but if you see a Philly Parking Authority Attendant–take a photo! I love the show Parking Wars and I want to visit Philly and say hi to an attendant (but not for being ticketed!) Have fun! Enjoy yourself!

  28. Yay! Have an amazing time in Philly!

I love flying as well, even in rough weather…I actually get excited (maybe it’s from loving roller coasters :D). And I’m definitely a procrastinator…and sometimes it comes pretty close to biting me in the butt!
