Dawg Cheering & FFF Features

Posted: September 3, 2011 at 5:53 pm

The first Saturday of September means college football is back, baby!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait to settle in for a night of rooting on my Bulldogs!

While I also ponder Nike’s reasoning in these lovely (note the sarcasm) uniforms. Although I would wear them for $250,000 too. Nike – you know where to find me. Winking smile

But before I settle into the couch, it’s time to share some FFF Features action! After sharing a great big smooch because I love you so much. MMMMMUUUUAAAHH! Happy Saturday and Happy College Gameday!

And an update on my mom – she is home and doing better but still not breathing normally. The doctors believe it is simply a part of this relapse and that it will pass on its own soon. Kind of frustrating, but my mom feels okay as long as she takes it easy…which is what she needs to be doing anyways. Thank you again for all the prayers, support, and uplifting. We truly felt it. Smile

I think the red and black one looks a little Star Warsy, which is totally awesome in my book.

  2. Kirsten says:

I agree, the uniforms are pretty scary. But I’ll be cheering on my dawgs despite them!

Miss M is absolutely adorable! 🙂

  3. Rebecca says:

My college played earlier this afternoon. I was not at the game. I have no school spirit, other than wearing apparel and carrying a water bottle around. Haha. I hate sports, so no cheering for anyone for me. But M’s team spirit is super-cute!

  4. Amy Lauren says:

I don’t like the uniforms either. They look incredibly plain and way too much red. And, it doesn’t say “Georgia”, like the Boise State ones say their name… I guess if you get paid 250k to wear something it doesn’t matter, but you still want to feel proud of your team in the uniform ya know, it just doesn’t seem like it has much spirit? Hopefully Georgia comes out on top though.

We’ve watched a lot of football today… first Auburn & Utah State, then there were a few games on at the gym, and USC vs. ECU play in less than an hour so we’re stoked about that (USC is our team). Hubby and I really love college football and can’t wait to curl up in front of the game!

  5. Heather says:

I am a huge LSU fan, my Tigers play tonight too!
Best workout would be the ten miles I ran on the treadmill this morning just BC they were so dang mentally challenging!

  6. Meg says:

Oh girrrl!!! Game on! (but seriously, this should be a good game). Go broncos!!!!

  7. Bari says:

Definitely some football going on here today. Lots of Big 10. I kicked off (ha ha) the college football season yesterday with the MSU game (Go Spartans!) but today was OSU, U of M and we tried watching ND.

Being from a MAC school (CMU – Fire Up Chips) my loyalty lies with the MAC, but I love football enough that I’ll root for just about anybody.

  8. I’ve been waiting for nine months for some college football!!! Our team (UT Vols) is playing on ppv today, but we have had several different games on throughout the day.

    Have a great weekend!

  9. We’re in Auburn – War Eagle! Not our best game, but what can you do? We won, thankfully.

Yes, I am NOT a fan of UGA’s uniforms – boo! You know both of my brother-in-laws are there now! (freshman and senior!) We are a fan of the dawgs, too.

I’m so glad to hear your mother is doing better! Keep us updated!

  10. Dorry says:

Billy is such a big football fan, so I’m a fan by default. In fact, we’re watching right this minute… 🙂

I had some great workouts this week – my favorite was a Treadmill class called Passing Lane – really working on hills and speed. Happy weekend to you!

  11. Ok…that video is way too adorable. I have to admit, I absolutely love football (watching…and sometimes playing!) but I never watch it on tv

  12. You know..I thought the same thing when we turned on the game….I like the old ones better! and we have been watching football ALL day…and loving every minute!

  13. ALL Michael has been watching is college football. He is so stoked. Love this time of year!

I have been meaning to write to you about you mom. I am so sorry to hear your family is going through that. I have a client with MS. He was diagnosed a couple years ago. He’s doing wonderful now…been a struggle. Recently he went GF and it’s done wonders for his symptoms. Something so little really was amazing.

I’m sure you are all reading up on everything and have great support from your docs but let me know if you ever want me to put you in touch with him or some of the resources that have helped him. He attends all the seminars and seems to find lots of help talking to others over the years via blogs and message boards and the events. Sending hugs. xo

Enjoy the football and your weekend!

  14. Deva (voracious Vorilee) says:

I didn’t really get many workouts in this week- I got sick and spent my workout time sleeping!

I am an Ohio Bobcats girl!! I didn’t go to a big football school but I liked where I graduated from. We watched bits and pieces of several games today. Michigan, Ohio State, and baseball games, haha!

  15. Totally agree about the uniforms. We were watching the Boise/Georgia game and the Fresno St (hub’s alma mater)/Cal game and none of us liked them. Sometimes I wonder what the designers are thinking. Cool helmets though.

  16. Loved the video at the end 🙂 I haven’t had to awesome of workouts this week, just alot of great weather to bike!

  17. I don’t follow college football. *runs away and hides*

Seriously though, I don’t think I’ve ever watched a whole football game in my life!

  18. Khushboo says:

I dont understand ‘football’ at all…however football to me means soccer which I do get :D!! My best workout last week was my run on Monday- 5 miles in 45m33 which is a PR for me 🙂

  19. Erin says:

Hi Tina! Once again, love the video, so cute!!

I actually had one of my best runs on Friday night and I was so pumped that I am determined to run the Boston Tufts 10K on 10/11. Woohoo! I ran 4.6 miles in under 50 minutes and it felt great. Well the first mile kinda sucked but then it was good LOL

    Have a great long weekend!

  20. I hated the uniforms too! Oregon’s were awful as well! What is Nike thinking?!?! I’m into traditional uniforms.
