That Time I Was On A Radio Show
Posted: September 22, 2011 at 7:07 pmHey hey hey! I have the biggest smile on my face right now. I had a great day! Not only did I start off with a rocking treadmill interval workout, but I got to do a few new and exciting things today as well. How often do I get the chance to say I was on a radio show?
Well, let me answer that for you…not very often at all.
Today I had the pleasure of visiting Adam and Lee in studio to participate in their online radio show Dr. Fitness & The Fat Guy. And I had THE. BEST. TIME! No surprise there. I love to talk…and talking with other people about making fitness fun gets me all giddy.
It all started a few weeks ago when Katy heard that Adam and Lee were looking into finding a female co-host for their show. She let me in on the news and said I should look into it. Adam and I chatted for awhile, then both decided to give it a go.
So I had I guess what you would call an “audition” of sorts today. I went in to hang out, let us see how well we all gel together, and have fun. I must say that Adam and Lee are both awesome. I love their senses of humor and their interest in enjoying life while still making the most out of it health-wise.
Today we had the chance to talk to Tanner Bell, the director from the Ragnar Relay races – an overnight, 200 mile relay race done in groups of 6-12 people.
Um, I kind of really want to do one of those one day! I’m all about trying new fitness endeavors and Tanner made it sound like so much fun. I think he had Dr. Fitness and I hooked on the idea.
Overall, I had a fantastic time. Who knows what will come of it, but even if I only got to visit the show this once, I appreciated the chance to do so. It was a great experience! Thanks, guys for making it happen!
Now you all can comment away about how you think they should pick me. Kidding! Well, sort of. Only because I would looooovvvvveeeee to come back. And if you’re interested in catching the show, I will let you know when the archive of the show goes up online.
- Would you be into doing a group event like a relay race?
- What is something you could talk forever on?

Certain types of history or food, I could talk about that forever…. 🙂
That’s so awesome that you got to be on the radio show! I so hope you get it. I love your blog’s voice and I think it would be just as awesome live. Fingers crossed!
That’s awesome you were on the show! I’ll join your relay team for that race! I would love to do a relay someday. There’s a 100 mile one in my state in the summer that I wanna try to do next year.
So glad you had a blast! Love that they allowed you to join them!
My dad’s done a Ragnar a couple of times with some people from work. He enjoys them. 🙂
So cool! That would be awesome if you got that gig! As for the Ragnar Relay – Natalie from http://www.thesweetslife.com is actually running it this weekend! I’m so jealous and TOTALLY want to do it someday!
Tina that is awesome! Good luck although I’m sure you wowwed them during your audition.
I would love to do a relay race/mud run at some point. Maybe next summer?
That’s so cool! Congrats!
I really want to do that really. I almost signed up this year but we couldn’t find enough crazy people. 🙂
You and me – next year! 😉
that is so cool Tina! I hope that connection builds into a something else. You have such a strong passionate voice in the blog world, lets take it to the RADIO world!
Sounds like fun! Good luck–they would be crazy not to pick you. 🙂
OMG that is so cool! They should totally pick you!!!!
I’m crossing my fingers and toes that they pick you!!! That is SO exciting 🙂
So fun! I love how blogging can bring us so many amazing opportunities. I’m routing for you!
This past weekend I was in a triathlon relay with three friends, and had the best time. I loved being part of a team, and joking about our events.
Wow…so cool! All the best! I could talk forever about food…eating it, baking it, cooking it…I just can’t stop. Food, recipe, healthy cooking – I could go on and on (and on and on).
WOW!! What an amazing experience!! How would it work out if you got the gig? Is it a daily show?
It’s once a week for an hour. It would take some juggling of things and they know my schedule with the kids and all…so we’ll see what happens and if it works out. 🙂
yay! aren’t those guys great!
They should pick you because I’m a regular guest and then we’d get to talk to each other all the time!
Yes! You know I would love that! 🙂
What an exciting experience! I am so happy for you and will keep my fingers crossed that you get the gig 🙂
I did a relay (Madison to Chicago) and it was a BLAST. I would absolutely do it again. Without a doubt.
Pick Tina! Pick Tina!
A buddy of mine from HS made a web page / blog thingy about the Ragnar. I thought it was only a local thing (to him). Hmm, maybe I should have checked it out!
Wow–what an awesome opportunity! I love your attitude toward it too–sounds like you’re in with a fantastic chance.
love
Ela
Pick Tina, Pick Tina, Pick Tina :)! Fingers crossed it works out! I could talk endlessly about healthy living and just food in general
I would totally do a group event – especially with other local bloggers. I really, really want to meet other bloggers in my area but have been to shy to put myself out there!
You should go for it! Bloggers are typically VERY nice and you always know you have something in common. 🙂
So cool about the radio show!!! I could talk about food and fitness forever. And I’m doing Ragnar next year in SoCal!
