I Think I’m Catching On + Features

Posted: October 9, 2011 at 4:50 pm

After running a half marathon yesterday, my body wanted to do nothing today. Mentally, I’m over the whole thing and not frustrated anymore (thanks for letting me vent)…but physically my body isn’t over it. Today immediately became an extra rest day.

I went to church this morning, then got in some active recovery with grocery shopping. I did the following moves for an easy full body workout:

  • 1 aisle walking lunges pushing the cart
  • 1 aisle leg lifts while pushing the cart
  • 1 aisle sprinting to the end and back with the cart
  • push-ups against the handle bars of the cart at the end of each aisle
  • repeat until done shopping

And I’m so not serious. I hope you know I’m not that much of a jerk-face to do a workout while picking up groceries. Unless you count speed shopping, so I could get home as quickly as possible to crash for a 2.5 hour nap.

I think I’m catching on to this napping thing. And I think I need to find a way to make every Sunday long-nap day. Winking smile

Ha, you aren’t a jerk, even if you did do that at the grocery store ;-P My fave moment…well, actually, it was my accidental 11 mile run yesterday, just for the in-hindsight moments and story M and I can now share forever!

  2. Jess says:

Um. I totally took a nap yesterday after my 12.5 miler; was a ZOMBIE before that. AND I took a rest day today knowing I’ll be taking another one on Friday. Two rest days are just needed sometimes!!

A fave moment this week? Last night’s dinner out with two of my closest friends and Scott. We had such a great time, over great food and great wine. Highlight of my weekend!

My first thought: “She didn’t SERIOUSLY do that in the shopping aisle. Did she?!? That would drive me crazy if I were trying to get to the cereal…” Ha! I was happy when you said that it was a joke! Thanks for the smile.

Grocery store workout idea…hilarious. After all those push-ups and lunges they’ll definitely need a “Clean up in Aisle 4!” Love this post.

  8. I just have to say how much your posts made me laugh this week. The grocery cart workout thing just made lol on the couch w/ the hubby who looked over and was like “are you seriously laughing at the computer?” Why, yes I am 🙂

HAHA that grocery shopping workout is such a jerk-face thing to do- so true! One blog which I am loving lately is your buddy’s: Clean Eating Chelsey! I read her blog a couple of times in the past but I’m defo a regular now: she is so hilarious and comes across as such a genuine person which I love!

  16. Mac says:

Bahaahaha! Can I just say that I totally thought you were serious! I warlike wow she’s ambitious and doesn’t care about all the silly looks she’s probably string lol….I’m so gullible!
