Never Have I Ever

Posted: October 28, 2011 at 7:10 am

Morning! And happy Friday! It’s that time of the week again. Fun Fact Friday! This week, I decided to follow the inspiration I got from Michelle @ Crazy Running Legs and complete a “Never Have I Ever” list.

Never Have I Ever…

Eaten at a fancy-pants, five-course, deck-yourself-out restaurant.

 source

Not that I would complain if I had the chance.

And on that same note…never have I ever eaten at a Whole Foods Hot Bar. It always looks really good, but if I’m just too cheap to eat at a high end restaurant, you better believe I’m too cheap for an expensive buffet.

Never have I ever…cheered on the Florida Gators. And that won’t be changing this weekend. Go Dawgs!!!

It Really IS The Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party!

Never have I ever…traveled west of the Mississippi River. I’ve traveled to more foreign countries than US States. #sadbuttrue

Never have I ever…driven a stick shift. I have a hard enough time driving an automatic. I don’t need to occupy my mind with anything else!

Never have I ever…cared for history. It bores me greatly. Although traveling and seeing artifacts/old architecture/etc doesn’t!

Never have I ever…felt fully recovered from my past eating struggles.

Never have I ever…signed up for Pinterest.

I’m holding out with all my might because the last thing I need is another online time suck. I feel my willpower waning more and more as each day passes.

Never have I ever…been able to do a split. Even during 14 years of gymnastics and cheerleading while growing up.

Never have I ever…wanted more than two kids.

I feel perfectly happy with my family just how it is. Here’s hoping God doesn’t have other plans. Winking smile

Speaking of God…never have I ever understood how He can love so completely and so unconditionally. But, I’m glad He does because it has truly turned my life around.

Never have I ever…seen a Star Wars movie. Nor do I have the desire.

Never have I ever…worn underwear. Just checking if you’re still with me.

Never have I ever…broken a bone. Even after getting hit by a car.

Never have I ever…ridden on a motorcycle, despite the fact Peter owns one and used to ride quite frequently.

Never have I ever…gotten a speeding ticket. Surprising because I tend to have a lead foot. And now my next post will likely be all about me getting my first speeding ticket. I seem to have that kind of luck.

Never have I ever…been skinny dipping. Er, wait. Done that. Who me?

Oh. You’re still paying attention? Dang.

Never have I ever…done anything like bungee jumping, sky diving, or jumping off a cliff. I have always wanted to do something daring, but wonder if I will have the cajones to actually pull the trigger.

Never have I ever…taken Makenzie to Disney World.

 source

And I CANNOT WAIT for that day to come. I think I will be more excited than her!

Never have I ever…liked strawberry ice cream.

Never have I ever…realized I have so many “never have I ever”s. Apparently, I need to get out more! And stop now before I bore you to tears. Happy Friday!

  • Hope you will play along! What’s a “Never Have I Ever…” of yours?

  1. Never have I ever met you. Sad story, I know.

And you have to eat at WF hot bar. It’s a must.

  2. Never have I ever had a cavity… probably should not jinx this!

And I only drive a stick shift car so it’s strange to me to think of driving anything else – lol!! But I know I am the minority 🙂

    Have a good Friday!

  3. Never have I ever been on a plane!! Haha! Great post! I’ve never gotten a speeding ticket either (knock on wood!) 🙂

  4. Lee says:

Never have I ever gone to a tanning salon!

I do drive a stick shift if you ever want to learn!

    • Tina says:

Peter does too. It’s the only thing he will drive. He always wants to teach me…then backs down for fear of me ruining his transmission. I don’t blame him! Haha!

  5. Never have I ever broken a bone (KNOCK ON WOOD!).

I love driving stick shift – my first car when I was 16 was stick. I hated it at first, but now I’m sad I have an automatic.

  6. lindsay says:

I had a fun time reading this, even with the fun slip ups. Glad you wear undies, although that would explain the 2 kiddos. haha.
You may think you have a lot of nevers, but i think you’ve taken a lot more risks and enjoyed life more!

I have never ever really liked froyo. there, i said it.

  7. I think if you like seeing old artifacts and architecture you DO like history, it just shows you enjoy learning in a different way. From your list, you MUST:
    1. Get to the other side of the Mississippi. So many great places to see in the good ol’ USA!
    2. Join Pinterest. Now. Dooooo it!

I’ve never eaten at a WF hot bar, either. Actually I’ve never even been inside WF. How crazy is that? I’m crazy.

  8. Never been west of the Mississippi??? OK. Mission for you: next vacation, go to New Mexico. GO. The beauty is breathtaking.

  9. Lori Lynn says:

I just ate at Whole Foods for the first time this last weekend. I didn’t think the price was too bad, and it was SO good. There was a lot more that I could have eaten too!
I grew up as a farm kid, so my first driving experiences were driving an old 1971 ford stick shift pickup. I haven’t driven one in several years, but I think I could still do it! (Though it took me FOREVER to learn how to get it into 3rd gear, and my dad used to get so mad at me, b/c I’d drive in 2nd which is really bad for the vehicle!)

  10. Khushboo says:

Ah Pinterest…speaking from experience, don’t do it if you want your productivity levels to stay high :D! Never have I ever smoked up (hahah I wonder which other healthy living bloggers will touch on that phase of life ;))!

  11. katie says:

never have I ever thought I would find the love of my life, but I did!

never have I ever thought a dark time in my life would be the time where I start a blog that saved me.

    Happy Friday love!! xoxo <3

  12. I’ve never seen a StarWars either! And I’m holding strong against it 🙂

However, I recommend you give in, at least once, to the hot bar at WF 😉

  13. Robyn says:

Good list, Tina! Wednesday I did a Things I Have Never Done post.

I live west of the Mississippi, let me know if and when you ever come this way. A history buff like you should visit Mt. Rushmore.

I am on the same boat as you when it comes to pinterest and Star Wars!

Wish I could say I have your good luck, but I have had several speeding tickets.

  14. Does this mean I have to drink if I have done one of these things? 😉

  15. Good ones! (Except for the Star Wars one, but I’m the kind of nerdy girl who names their cat Leia after the books/movies.)

    Never have I ever… umm… I dunno. I’ve done a lot. I suppose never have I ever changed a diaper.

  16. never have i ever… changed or cleaned a litter box, or done anything more than purchase litter, regardless of the fact that my family had cats from 1992-2008 and my husband and i have had a cat since 2010! what a sweet deal.

  17. I just had to comment on the Star Wars movies — they are pretty good! And Jason just bought the special edition Blu-Ray set and we’ve been watching one every weekend. 2 more to go 🙂

  18. Never have I ever thought so much about things I’ve never done. Now you’ve got me thinking, Tina. May have to borrow this. Have a great weekend!

  19. Never have I ever…been to Disney World! I really have no desire to go either. I’m sure when I have kids that feeling will change, but for now, I’m happy spending my vacation money at the beach! Haha!

  20. Nikki says:

This is really fun!!! I may have to steal the idea some day! 🙂 Never have I ever played a contact team sport!

  21. Jess says:

If bungee jumping and jumping out of planes isn’t your thing (it’s SO not mine either), I think you ought to try ziplining, SUUUUCH a high but not nearly as scary as jumping out of a plan or something ridiculous like that. 😉

Hmm never have I ever…had a twinkie. Ever. And never will. If it’s not chocolate, why bother?? haha

  22. jobo says:

I love this! Never have I ever been able to do a split either! Or cared for history! or science, for that matter. I can beat you on the traveling one…I’ve never been to Vermont, yet I live in New England, a mere state-ish away. dude, that’s wrong 😉

  23. Loving this never have I ever! The more I read about you the more I see how much we have in common, especially in these little random facts!

Never have I ever Pinterested (new word!) either! I have seen the sight once and refuse to revisit because it has addiction written all over it! This whole blogging thing is quite enough for me 😉

Have a great weekend with the fam!

  24. Some of these need to stay “Nevers” (cheering for the Gators, speeding ticket, broken bone) but some you must cross off your list! Just west of Mississippi is the greatest.state.ever….Louisiana! Go to New Orleans and eat at Commander’s Palace; it’s fancy smancy and un-buh-lievably delicous. Not to mention, New Orleans is a really fun city!

  25. Kara says:

I’m not sure we can be friends if you don’t watch Star Wars. You’ve probably missed like 18 references to those movies on my blog already. 🙂

  26. Never have I ever been a fan of Star Wars even though my two brothers LOVE all of the movies.

  27. Never have I ever eaten Whole Foods Hot bar either. I went there once to get some groceries (after purchasing a Living Social deal for there) and super surprised at how expensive things were. I don’t think I will be going back very often.

  28. Never have I ever traveled outside of the U.S. so jealous that you have!!
And you MUST watch Star Wars – so so good. Henry’s into it now, which couldn’t make Travis happier!

  29. We have a few of the same ones:
    -pinterest <–I'm holding out!
    -strawberry ice cream
    -history

    Here's a random never have I ever list…
-done any sort of drugs 🙂
    -liked cats
    -seen the movie Grease

  30. Diana says:

What a fun Friday list!! You can probably skip on joining pinterest but you NEED to travel past the Mississippi – first stop, gateway to the west aka St. Louis, MO! 🙂

Never have I ever played the drinking game beirut (which I’m more than fine with) or been to a professional basketball game (which I’d really like to change!)

  31. never have I ever broken a bone, gone skydiving or bungie jumping (nor will I EVER..I can’t even go on roller coaster rides haha), and I’ve also never been able to do a split either and I’ve done gymnastics and dancing for YEARS. so sad..love that picture of your kids:) so adorable!

  32. Amy Lauren says:

    I love these!

You are right with Pinterest, it is a time suck. I pin stuff all the time like recipes and cute stuff and don’t do anything with it but really sit around at work and look! I won’t deactivate it or anything but I know I have to be careful.

I love your tailgating pictures :). You’re like one of the few bloggers I read who “gets” Southern, SEC, football tailgating!

I hope you get to take Mackenzie to Disney World one day… but I would definitely wait until she’s 6-7 or so. I went when I was four and I hardly remember it. I think I would’ve had a better time if my parents had waited a few years. They still say I loved it, lol.

  33. Tina says:

Never have I ever had a cavity, been on an upside down roller coaster…i’m terrifed!

  34. How fun! Never have I ever…had a cavity! (That was amazingly difficult to come up with anything?!?) Oh, or the skydiving, bungee-jumping thing. Ain’t never happening.

  35. Sara says:

No Star Wars?? Really? I felt that was before I saw it. “What’s the big deal? Really? Star Wars? What a dumb idea.” But once I saw it, I liked it! (Though, I like the newer ones more than the older ones. Apparently that is so wrong.)
I’ve never had a speeding ticket either! Here’s to hoping neither of us ever get one! (I too have a lead foot. Guess I know when to stop?)

  36. Never have I ever…cheered on the Georgia Bulldogs. And that won’t be changing this weekend.

    Go Gators!!!!!

Sorry, I just had to throw that in there! Still love you! 😉

And I will be at the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party! 😀

  37. Carly says:

Don’t feel bad about the WF hot bar. It seems that the blog world is obsessed with it, but it is seriously not worth the money. Not to mention I used to work at a WF and it really isn’t very healthy. There are some choices that are, but in general the cooks just make what they want and don’t worry about fat, etc. The worst of the worst is the vegan “chicken” which is absolutely AWFUL for you!!! Save your money and spend it on good food 🙂

  38. I love this game! can I play? 😉

aaand definitely take mackenzie when she’s like… 5-6. I swear, it’s the best age in the world. that was the first time I went, and the magic was so real. every time I went after that, it just kinda sucked.

okay, not sucked, but you get what I mean.

  39. Never have a I ever eaten tofu.
Just thinking about its texture makes me squirm!

  40. Never have I ever really liked lettuce. Sad but true.

  41. i’ve never eaten at a fancy pants restaurant either, but i definitely want to! even if it’s just once!

  42. Great post and so fun!
I’ve been to several fancy restaurants in my day because of work mostly and most of the time they’re totally overrated. I remember going to this French restaurant that everyone raved about and only had like 8 tables in it. The bill came out to like $400 for 3 of us and took 3 hours. I was hungry when I left and stopped at the Burger King on the corner. The only thing that was really good was the desserts. But seriously, overrated. I guess I just like good old, not fancy food.

  43. Never have I ever even had the slightest desire to see a Star Wars movie! (still don’t…)

I keep asking my hubby when we can take our son to Disney World…he keeps saying we have to wait until he’s older. Darn.

  44. Good list!!! I never wanted more than 2 kids either…but birth control really isn’t 100%!!! Meet my youngest Aiden, he’s the product of the NuvaRing and a condom. Guess he was meant to be in our family 😉

  45. Love this! I also am holding out on Pinterest, for the exact time-suck reasoning! I don’t like strawberry ice cream by itself, but I can get down with some Neapolitan. 🙂

  46. Ahhh, I can’t believe you’ve never seen any Star Wars movies!! I love them 🙂

  47. Heather says:

Oh girl you know which of those is my favorite! You know who to calm when you decide to take that girl to WDW. 🙂

  48. […] Friday afternoon! I hope you all have had a great day. I loved reading your “Never Have I Ever” comments. So fun. Now, it’s time for the […]

  49. I just heard about Pinterest today! That’s too funny that you posted it. 😀

  50. While I have watched the Star Wars movies, never have I ever watched any James Bond movie and don’t ever plan to.
