are you in?

Posted: August 12, 2010 at 6:00 am

****Please note: This movement  may have started on September 1, but it is ongoing and you may join at any time. Simply begin commenting on the daily 30 days posts or comment below that you're interested and I'll add you to the contact list so you can get daily emails with a link to the post, as well as any other correspondence. I look forward to working with you to promote a positive environment in the blogosphere and beyond. 🙂

CHECK OUT THE ANNOUNCEMENT if you haven’t already!! That is the main post that shares what I have planned for September (and hopefully beyond) on my blog. This short post strictly serves as the “sign-up” for those interested in joining the 30 days of self reflection. Participating in this challenge of sorts requires only 3 simple steps.

1. Comment on this post letting me know of your interest. Please do this! It will help me know who is involved and be able to more easily reach those participating if needed. Plus, it will be a form of investment in yourself and let us all know who plans to support each other. You don’t HAVE to comment here to be able to comment on reflection posts, but I would appreciate knowing who plans to participate or is participating.

2. For each of the 30 days, take about 5 minutes to reflect on the daily topic. I will send out a monthly schedule of the topics to those who comment on this post so if you are unable to read the blog you can still experience the peace of the reflection.

3. Comment on as many posts as possible to share your insights/experiences and uplift others. I don’t expect everyone involving themselves in this to have the time to read and comment on every single morning post. I don’t want this to become a “to-do” in peoples’ lives. I want there to be more focus on taking the few minutes for reflection over anything else. However, participating with comments helps you to declare the affirmations and something about having them in writing makes it feel more real. Also, I’m hoping for this to continue in future months and plan to include thoughts/quotes from other bloggers in future reflection posts.

Peter & I spent a few hours creating a button for this movement of self reflection. If you believe this can help others as much as I do, I would be truly honored if you would include it on the sidebar of your blog.

To do so…simply copy the code from the textbox below and paste in a text widget for your sidebar. Let me know if you put the button on your site. I’ll be sure to check it out and give you a special shout out. 🙂

ARE YOU IN?

**You can join whenever – before September, right at the start, or anytime during the month. This post’s comments will remain open for people to share their participation.

Hey I’m looking to add your icon on the side of my page, but I’m struggling (I’m new at this)! I use wordpress, any suggestions?

    • Tina says:

If you go to your WordPress Dashboard, on the column to the left there should be something you can click for Widgets under the Appearance tab. On the Widget page there is a list of a bunch of different types. Click the “TEXT” one and drag it to the sidebar to the right of the screen. In that space copy and paste the code listed above and save. That SHOULD work.

    Hey!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I noticed the “30 days” challenge that you are doing and I love it. I am not a religious person, but as a recovering binge eater I know EXACTLY what you are going through. It is a constant struggle. I added your button!

    • Tina says:

I hope you will participate! It’s not meant to be religious. It can be if that is what the person chooses to make it. Otherwise, it is simply taking time each day to focus on a way to love ourselves more fully. Thanks for the support!

  31. Marg says:

This sounds like a really good thing to participate in sign me up.

  32. Matt says:

    I want to participate 🙂

I’m in! Thanks for doing this!

  35. Kathleen says:

I just created my blog today so it’s very “raw” as I’m learning about the blogging world. I have added your button to my blog. Thanks again Tina for doing this. You are truely a blessing to many!

  36. This is fate. I said a prayer just this morning asking God to reach out and give me a sign….one that would allow me to better myself and realize that what I look like or the size that I wear is so petty and unimportant compared to the “bigger picture”.

Thanks you so much. I am counting the days until 9.1.10!!

  37. I already commented about my being in, but I had to response to Katie@crazyequals me. All day I have been a bit discouraged because last night before bed I was praying for God to show me which direction to go in life. And I didn’t think He answered…But, perhaps this challenge is my answer, and 30 days of self reflection will lead me to greater knowledge and acceptance of my personal destiny. I’m working on a blog entry hoping to spread the word about your idea, and because my blog is rather new am going to spread the word via a facebook link too. Thanks again!

  38. Jennifer says:

I am in. I want to spend 30 days on this project. I’m going to set out exactly what the purpose will be for me. Not as much self love as I have worked through many of those issues over the last year, but more of self purpose. This I feel, goes hand in hand with esteem. If you know your purpose and have direction, your esteem grows.

  39. Jess says:

Late to the party but count me in!! I just added the button to my blog too 🙂

  40. janetha g. says:

of course i am in 🙂

  41. Michelle says:

I am in! I love this idea.

  42. Leah says:

    I am in! Thanks…

  43. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! I would love to be part of this fantastic September idea.

  44. I think this is a wonderful idea. It combines nicely with my latest goal of spending 10 minutes a day just for me. It’s amazing how much a few minutes can refresh a person. Excited for the start of September, and also to read how this goes for others as well 🙂
