it’s here!

This post will prove the extent of excitement in my life. I am in a great mood today. Partially because it is no longer that dreadful day and my hormones are playing nicely today. Partly because I had the best workout this morning during spin. Partly because it’s Sister Night tonight and its a special one. Why so special tonight?

Fall TV is back!!! You may now commence your happy dance.

I don’t hide that I’m a sucker for winding down at night with some mindless entertainment in the form of television. I have quite a few shows I enjoy. Which makes me very thankful for the DVR and episodes aired online. It’s even a part of our sister night. For the past few years we have cooked dinner together and watched The Biggest Loser together. Even though the show has quite a few things I don’t agree with or care for (which I will share more later), I still always look forward to this little tradition. And I’m so happy its back tonight.

Other shows I am excited to start back up? My #1 is Glee…which will sadly have to wait until tomorrow night for me to watch. I’m giddy for this one. I love musicals and this is such a fun show.

I also enjoy another Tuesday night show – The Parenthood. Why do Tuesdays have to be so popular?

I am even stuck in the past with a few shows that I just can’t seem to give up. The finale of Grey’s was awesome though and I’m anxious to see how this season plays out. DHW – you got some work to do.

Peter & I also watch Chopped on the Food Network somewhere in that mix. Poor guy…he gets sucked into all these shows. I think he secretly doesn’t mind though. I actually am intrigued by Modern Family for a little bit more comedy in our TV lives, but fear adding on to the obvious mess we have already created for ourselves.

I guess we all have our vices. Mine come in the form of couch potatohood and crack candy corn. What can I say?

  • Do you enjoy TV? What show are you excited to return?
  • What’s one of your little vices that you can’t give up?

  1. I love some TV shows… we are excited about Boardwalk Empire on HBO, Greys and Private Practice, DWTS, The Office, 90201… geez, I swear I have a life!

    • Tina says:

Haha! That’s how I felt after typing up that post. We usually end up watching one thing per night. And with DVR the commercials cut down the total time so it evens out. Right? 😉

  2. Jess says:

Aw sister night, how fun! I am excited for Biggest Loser to return too, so inspirational, though I bet I’ll agree with the things you don’t love about the show. I’m also psyched that House and Bones are back! The little things, right?

  3. Love that you’re in a fantastic mood! Good vibes all around! Grey’s Anatomy is one of those shows which will never get old… Like Friends. It’s classic.

  4. I’m soooo excited about TV tonight 🙂 So many good shows!

I can’t miss Glee… I love it too much! And Parenthood! I was so happy to see it back last week 🙂
    I love Lorilie Gilmore 🙂

    • Tina says:

She will always be Lorelai to me. I miss that show. My sister and I are the epitome of the Lorelai and Rory relationship.

  5. Marg says:

The ones I like that me and the boyfriend both watch are House and Hell’s Kitchen. I love The Soup though. I may try and get into a few other shows this year.

  6. I’m a TV junkie. I don’t have room to list all the shows I watch … But I’m looking forward to new episodes of “The Middle” and “Modern Family.”

  7. Lisa says:

I know! I havent been so excited for tv lately especially tonight with the BIGGEST LOSER! I love that show its so great!

  8. hehe love the dance!

I’m very much excited about TV!! I recorded a ton of new shows this week and can’t wait to watch ’em with Austin and see which ones will be favorites! I’m also looking forward to favorites like Modern Family, DHW, Brothers & Sisters, Grey’s, etc. This is going to be GREAT week. And Glee tonight – EEE!

    • Tina says:

I need to do that. Just go ahead and DVR all the shows that I’m interested in just to see what they’re like. You may have fueled the fire. 😉

  9. Vanessa says:

Lol, I LOVE candy corn! Peter is such a nice guy to “let” you watch your shows without too much trouble, my bf grunts and moans and typically I have to negotiate a deal to watch my shows :/ I’ll break him soon enough! lol

    -Nessa

  10. Kris says:

Cute post girl!! I love the Happy Dance!

Friends was my all time favourite shows and I cried and cried the day it ended…so sad. I own all the season on dvd though 😉

I love reality tv like keeping up with the kardashian and I really love gossip girl, but thats about it 😐

I wish I had more time to watch more shows!

    xxoo

  11. Jen says:

My DVR is ready for Fall LOL!!!! I am so excited for all the new shows coming back 🙂

  12. Erica says:

wahooo for shows coming back on! Josh and I just started to really get into glee. I think we’re all caught up now so I’m excited for the new season. I like junky reality shows 🙂 They’re totally my vice. It is quite toasty! But I’m never ready for fall or winter, so I am ok with the hot hot temps!

  13. Rachel says:

Dexter, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Glee are all returning and I am SUPER pumped.

Boardwalk Empire is a new show that just aired on Sunday on HBO and I already love it. It is like a pre-quel to the Sopranos. SWOON.

I also love Breaking Bad, True Blood, Enterouge, Nurse Jackie, The United States of Tara…

Yeah, can you tell I love premium television? My cable bill is INSANE.

  14. Yay for feeling better today! Hope you enjoy your Sister Night. I actually like Modern Family. At first I wasn’t sold, but I’m glad I kept watching. And it’s hard to imagine life without the DVR 😉

  15. I’m in love with 30 rock and the office though the office is kind of losing it’s pep.

One vice I can’t seem to give up is mid day naps even when I don’t need them! 🙂

  16. Becca says:

    I love Glee!
I’m so sad that I’m going to miss the first probably 15 minutes tonight. Stupid work… Lol.

I just got into Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy over thsi summer! It was weird; I never wanted to watch them before, but when our exchange student got here, she and I would watch DH and GA all day! Lol. Still, I haven’t seen every ep of every season, so I feel a little lost. But they’re kinda interesting anyway. 🙂

I also like Food Network and TLC. Ace of Cakes, Cake Boss, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, etc. They make me smile. 🙂
One I got into the beginning of the summer was TLC’s Mall Cops: Mall of America. I’m really hoping they continue it!!

  17. Brad Fallon says:

My wife and I can’t get enough of Parenthood – love that show.

  18. You should definitely add Modern Family to the mix. I LOVE it and you will not be disappointed!

The way you feel about Tuesday night tv is how I feel about Thursdays… I swear all of my favorite shows are on at the same time!

  19. I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I never miss The Biggest Loser. That is my favorite show! Other than that, I find something else to do…like blog:)

YAY for The Biggest Loser season premiere tonight! 🙂

    • Tina says:

Which is why sometimes I blog and watch! 😀 Not always, but sometimes depending on what it is. And if Peter is busy with something else at the moment.

  20. I’m excited to see Chuck. I know, it was on last night, but my husband wanted to watch the Phillies and DVR-ed it…blah. Not sure other than that? There’s a bunch that look promising…

And…I used to be a pickle fiend…not feeling them at the moment. That’s only a vice when it comes to my sodium levels, I suppose. Recently? CHEESEBALLS. That’s new.

  21. i love TV – if only i had time for all the shows i love! i usually settle in for Glee, Modern Family, and Thursday night TV! love it all 🙂

  22. I’m definitely going to take your show sugggestions. I’m usually a Bravo kind of girl…real housewives, flipping out, Top Chef, Thin-tervention but I need to branch away and get hooked on SOMETHING now that LOST is over *tears*

I should give Glee a try!

  23. I love every show you mentioned! Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays are rough nights for my DVR. Seems like everything I want to watch on those days! Then I spend the rest of the week catching up. Oops

  24. Ameena says:

I hardly watch anything on Primetime except America’s Next Top Model and I am thilled it is back! I wish I had more time to catch up on things like Glee but I can’t get into another show since I have too much to do and not enough time. 🙁

  25. We love all of the same shows! I am most excited about glee! I will probably watch it tomorrow, unless I stay up “late”!

  26. ashleigh says:

You’re the first person who’s lineup is right up my alley!! LOVE biggest loser! Still obsessed with DH and Grey’s. Modern Famil and Parenthood are the best! The only one I don’t watch is glee… and I am obsessed with gossip girl.

  27. i will be watchign Biggest Loser tonight. I love the show..like you don’t agree with some of it. After losing the weight and struggling with weight ALL my life I can relate to them!

    happy watching!

  28. Lori Lynn says:

I’m a huge Friends fan. I love watching the reruns!

    • Tina says:

I will never get sick of Friends! I still will put in one of my season DVDs when I feel like watching some TV and nothing else is on.

  29. Oh gosh!! I totally didn’t realize Biggest Loser starts tonight! I just texted my Hubby to Tivo it for me. Eek! i didn;t even see any commercials. I don’t agree with it all and the product plugs are getting atrocious, but I like watching people trying to live healthier. I’m also still stuck on Grey’s and it wasn’t a very good season last year, except for the finale. Wow – it’s officially fall now with the start of all these shows.

  30. I’m so excited for the return of a few shows.

    1. Dexter. This sunday. yes.

    2. The Middle (ABC, Wednesday nights before Modern Family) so funny.

    3. Modern Family

    4. Greys.

I lost interest in Biggest Loser over the years.

and also, I love The Big C (new show on showtime) and Weeds.

    • Tina says:

I really don’t like a lot of how TBL is done these days but I still watch. The transformations and challenges are always entertaining. We do DVR it and start watching about 30-45 minutes into it so we can fast forward through all the “commercials” in the show and the way too dragged out weigh ins.

  31. Camille says:

I love TV in moderation. My boyfriend and I have 3 shows that we make sure to watch every week (even if online the next day): Glee, 30 Rock, and Parks and Recreation. Aside from that, TV is just “eh” for me.

  32. Lee says:

I like Parenthood a lot. I actually don’t watch much TV in general, although I do watch some cheesy MTV shows (The Real World, Teen Mom.) I need to start watching Glee and Modern Family. Do I have to start Glee from the beginning or will I just get what’s happened?

    • Tina says:

You should probably be able to pick up pretty quickly what’s happened. It’s nothing too serious or complicated. More fun than anything. It helps its only one season in too. I love it!

  33. I’ve never seen Glee before but have heard such great things about it. I’m excited for Grey’s Anatomy to come back. The finale was awesome wasn’t it? Although I hardly have time to watch tv anymore I still record my shows. I love Ellen, The Big Bang Theory, and Modern Family as well. I won’t even get into all the food shows…teehee.

  34. I just can’t miss the biggest loser! John always makes fun of me when I watch it, but it’s just too good! I DVR Glee and watch it the next morning…

  35. Yay for fall tv!! I looooove GLEE!

  36. Mellissa says:

TV is good entertainment! I watched about one thing I night but tonight was loaded- Glee, Biggest Loser, NCIS. All great shows.

  37. Kristy says:

I <3 FALL TV! Gossip Girl is #1 on my list followed by Biggest Loser then my soul belongs to night time CW and Foodnetwork anything….

  38. Cynthia says:

I also love Glee, Grey’s Anatamy, and Desperate Housewives . . and Parenthood. Such good shows! I love How I Met Your Mother and The Office as well. I used to watch Biggest Loser, but I stopped about two seasons ago. It got to be too much about the drama and not enough about the weight. Besides, I don’t think they are realistic in how much they push the contestants to work out and how little they eat. It sets them up for failure when they leave the ranch.

  39. […] goes it? Did you have a good night last night with your fall TV? A good day so far? Remember, you make the most of your days! Make the decision to live fully. And […]
