I Will Still Need You

Posted: January 10, 2011 at 8:22 pm

I really feel I cannot say it enough. I love you all!!! Katy, Caitlin, Chelsey, Gabriela, Allison, and a good handful of others were tweeting with me today about their excitement for baby B’s arrival. Over recent weeks, your many comments showing support and friendship have meant so much to me. I have seen a pretty sizeable increase (to me) in readership and subscribers over the last week or two. [Side note: Hello to all you new readers!!!!] I feel incredibly loved. It humbles me and rewards me to be in the midst of so much encouragement.

I completely credit all this to the anticipation of Mr. Baby B and his first appearance on FFF. Believe me. I feel it too! I cannot wait to give that update and share the whole experience here with all of you. So at the risk of sounding desperate and pushing you all away, I have to say this -

I will still need you!

After Baby B’s arrival and the anticipation dies down, I hope you will continue to read. You motivate me to continue the blog, which allows me to grow as an individual. As I adjust to two children, I know this outlet will remain a great source of friendship. I will need you. As I work towards my many goals over the course of the year, knowing you all are there cheering me on will inspire me. I will need you. As I share my life, my passions, my heart, my all…I will need you there because a large part of what makes blogging so enjoyable is you. The community. The relationships. The friendships.

Even when you don’t have the chance to comment, seeing that people are stopping by to check in on me makes me smile. Knowing all of you out there care enough to want to either visit, provide an ear to my random ramblings, or share some of your own insights brightens my day.

I do have some fun things coming up here on Faith Fitness Fun as well.

  • new blog header design and official customized logo for the blog!
  • plans to regularly post short video clips of favorite workout moves to really share my love of fitness (perhaps a weekly feature :))
  • more recipes to go along with my goal of one new recipe each week
  • more of my meal/snack ideas with a weekly feature – to depict the possibility of losing weight without deprivation
  • Body After Baby progress and complete honesty on the journey
  • more little M and baby B antics for all the kiddo lovers out there
  • and of course…more of the same fun and musings you already enjoy since I refuse to change the whole premise of this site! 😉

Thank you for everything you have given me so far. I hope we can continue this path together in the future of Faith Fitness Fun. It’s going to be a good one…and it wouldn’t be without you. Pssst…did you catch my special message for ya?

Question of the Evening – What does your blog and its readers add to your life? Have you ever posted something that made you feel incredibly vulnerable? I feel pretty vulnerable after this post, for sure. I hope it didn’t come across as whiny, but sincerely showing my gratitude for your involvement here.

& I love your blog 🙂 no matter what you post about.
    Your amazing.

  2. It’s anything BUT whiny! It’s so obvious how much your readers really mean to you and how much blogging means to you. It’s why I adore your blog and think so highly of you!

  3. Stephanie says:

As a new reader, even I’m excited for your impending arrival! I love me some babies so I’m super pumped for new baby pics! Blogging is one of the best things I’ve decided to do EVER so I understand how you feel!

    This is a wonderful post!
As excited as I am about little B’s arrival, that isn’t the reason why I read your blog. I read because I like you as a person and your genuine, heartfelt way of writing is a pleasure to read. We wont stop reading if you don’t stop writing! 🙂

  5. I can’t wait for Baby B to come and of course I am going to continue to read your blog! Reading your blog has become one of the highlights of my day! 😀

My reader’s mean so much to me. I may not have a ton right now, but I have a strong group who comment regularly and uplift me everyday. I love them! 😀

My most vulnerable post was when I came clean about my struggle with food and calorie counting. I still have a lot to share, but I think it showed my readers that I am becoming comfortable in my own skin. 😀

  6. <3 I love this post. you are awesome.

  7. Meg says:

Tina, you’re a champ. I am so excited for baby B to come– which I hope is SOON! I’ll be keeping you in my prayers that everything will go well and you both will be healthy.

You have influenced my attitude towards health so much, more than you realize! Cute special message. Took me a sec. 😉

  8. That’s funny, because the whole time reading this, I kept thinking: I will still need YOU. I will need to read about your honesty and your willingness to open up, to motivate me to do the same. I will need you to share photos of M to make me smile. And I need you to share your workouts to get me off the couch. I need you to continue to show how to balance life with children and healthy living. You know, no pressure or anything 🙂

  9. When I posted my story I felt very vulnerable. It was good to share and my readers were great about it. And you didn’t come across as whiny, silly girl! You are awesome and we’ll be here for you 🙂

  10. Kristi says:

I love your blog! Can’t wait to see Baby B and see life with Baby B in it! 🙂

  11. chelsey says:

Your pictures made me thing of the song: “I love you in the morning and in the afternoon. I love you in the evening and underneath the moon! Twiddly-dinky-dinky-dink. Tiwddly dinky-doooo I love you!”

If you don’t know that song, you should.. and then you should teach it to M.

We do love you, and WE will still need YOU even after Baby B is born. Not only do we love your kids, but we love you as well… pregnant or not!

  12. Priyanka says:

We love you and your blog and will be around when baby B arrives too! Loved reading this and I did catch on your subtle hidden message 😉

  13. Jess says:

Don’t worry, you can’t get rid of us that easily 😉 LOVE your blog because you are so passionate about it, and about life in general. I’m so glad more and more are “finding” you and seeing how fab you are for themselves!!

  14. I love the friendships blogging has given me. I have felt closer to virtual people than I do some people I know personally. I hope your little man gets here soon, but maybe he can wait until Wednesday? So you don’t have to drive on ice! Stay warm Tina!

  15. I have definitely posted things that made me vulnerable. Alot. Such as my weight loss story and my thoughts on the scale. My readers (and the blog) have added soo much to my life! I look forward to new commenters and getting to know new people each and every day!! 🙂

  16. Can’t wait to hear the honest facts of body after baby progression! I am so curious!

  17. And we will still need you! 🙂 This community has been amazing on so many levels. And I am so thankful for everything you and my readers have done in supporting me…

  18. Aw this post is so thoughtful! I’m so happy that you came across my blog and found me, because now I have found you and your beautiful family! Thank you so much for being such an inspiration, you’ll be such a good momma to your new little one.

  21. Tina, I am so excited for everything 2011 is going to bring in your life, and cannot wait to see what’s in store for FFF! I’ve only “known” you pregnant, and am looking forward to reading about your adventures with Baby B, as well as your experiences/thoughts/feelings/emotions as you return to fitness and pursue other passions!

Blogging has been a true blessing…I’ve never been more vulnerable, but that vulnerability has made me STRONG–stronger (and healthier!) than I’ve ever been. The support offered by this community is unbelievable. I am so grateful for the friends I’ve made!

  22. Elaine says:

  24. I think I will read MORE after Baby B arrives as I know that you will inspire me with your journey. 🙂

  25. Lee says:

Of course I will still be reading!

  26. Absolutely! No one expects you to keep a ‘normal’ blogging schedule with a new baby in the house or expects you to read tons of blogs every day.

  27. Karen says:

I can’t wait to see all of the exciting things coming on FFF. I keep checking FB waiting for a Baby B update! Keeping you in my prayers.

  28. What a sweet, honest, heartfelt post! Honored to be among your readers.

  30. kate says:

You are amazing! As is your blog!

  31. Allie says:

I’ll keep reading! It is so fun and exciting to hear about your life 🙂

  32. I wish I could let myself be this vulnerable but for a multitude of reasons, I cannot..at least right now..sigh.

    Can’t wait for baby B!

  33. Dorry says:

I’ll still be reading! I definitely feel vulnerable after certain posts…and in general, at times, just having a blog with so many pictures and insights into my mind and my life with Billy. But it’s worth it!

  34. ashleigh says:

Ahhaha what a cute post! At first I was like what is she doing pointing to her eye, and then was like, awwww how sweet!

  35. Tina,
I can’t begin to express how grateful I am to you. Thank you for being one of the 1st bloggers to respond to my emails and comment on my page. I love your blog and the positive and real image it represents. Since I am on a journey of health and weight loss I am looking forward to learning and working along side you. I know you are so anxious to welcome that baby boy into the world 🙂

I just began my blog, but I already feel vulnerable especially b/c at the present most of my readers are friends/family. But I think it holds me accountable and allows me to share something I am passionate about at the same time. I think by being vulnerable I am going to learn so much.

  36. Not whiny…grateful! It feels nice to have someone tell you that you are appreciated, and we appreciate you too! I’m excited to see the changes coming to your blog and to your life.

  37. You know I’m here for ya Tina!! XOXO

  38. Anna says:

I love your honesty and passion that I see through your blog posts. You are an amazing woman and mother!

  39. Cynthia says:

I feel like the blogging community has provided such support that I never could have imagined. Recently, I posted about emotional eating and one of my binges. i was afraid it would come across as whiny. But I received an outpouring of support from people who understood exactly what I was going through. It was so nice.

I will definitely continue to read your blog after Baby B’s arrival and I love what you have planned for the blog in the future. I can’t wait to see that first picture of Baby B! So exciting.

  40. i know it’s been said a million times, but the community and encouragement here is amazing! the first time i posted about eating disorder related stuff felt really crazy vulnerable, but at the end of the day God has used that to help heal me. how could i not love it after that?!

    • Tina says:

Exactly! The blog has seriously shaped me into a better person. I’m so thankful for it. And for the great friends I have met through it. 🙂

  41. Awwe, what a super sweet post! xoxo

  42. We still need you too!! Your blog is always so uplifting, and I look forward to reading it every day!

I started my blog in June, and could not imagine how much it would mean to me. My readers mean more to me than I could ever tell them, and I always appreciate their comments, encouragement, and motivation!

  43. I’ll still need you, too, Tina. Reading your blog is one of the highlights of my day.

I love my own blog, and I occasionally post things that make me feel vulnerable … like some of the 30 Days of Self Love posts I wrote in September. But I’ve never felt like anyone is judging me for it.

    • Tina says:

I certainly love that about blogging. I’ve never really felt judgment from all the wonderful people involved either.

  44. We’re all on pins and needles here waiting for the news!! You and your blog are awesome as it is :), but I look forward to some of the changes you’ll be making!

  45. Heather says:

When I posted about my ex-husband and about going non-veggie (most recently), I felt extremely vulnerable. I’m not used to sharing the most personal parts of my life yet.
    Great post, Tina!!

  46. We love you! And we’ll be here cheering you on and supporting you through your journey 🙂

  47. Just discovered your blog!

Blogging is my therapy! Free therapy at that. And just knowing I can relate to my readers makes me feel my health journey is not traveled alone.

  48. Kathleen says:

I may not comment often, but I do check in regularly. I found you a while back through the amazing words you left on a comment to another blogger. You get what you put out in the blogosphere and it’s no surprise that you have so many readers cheering you on. Congrats on your newest addition to your family.

  49. I just found your site and think it’s great! My blog is still a baby, but writing has been SO great for me. I was feeling a little lost as far as my career goes, but cooking and writing have been such a great outlet and just something to DO. It’s truly been amazing. I really appreciate your honesty in this post, and I plan on checking back! Congrats on the wee one and I hope you are enjoying these precious first days with him 🙂

  50. I know you’ve commented on my blog several times. THank you for that! One of my favorite things about the blog community is how supportive and friendly people are. I love having connections in cities all over the world in case I want a place to visit or just someone to have dinner with.

My post today made me feel a bit vulnerable because I rarely blog about stuff when I’m upset or not feeling happy and confident. But I do believe posts that make you feel vulnerable challenge us and allow us to grow.

It’s kind of funny. I become a certified personal trainer and the first workouts I turn to this week come from someone else. The book came in for me at the library last week and, after flipping through it, I couldn’t wait to give the circuits a go. Making The Cut includes a lot of […]
