If It Involves Cake, I’m Happy!

In case you missed this week’s series, check them out here:

I loved this weekend! It had the perfect amount of productiveness, fun, and relaxation. Saturday morning started with my workout that I shared over the weekend. Then, I headed out for groceries and to get my eyebrows waxed. I needed some eyebrow grooming and now I finally feel like a woman again. Funny aside – the guy who waxed my eyebrows said I have a Scottish accent. Ummm…no. Sorry, dude.

After getting things done Saturday during the day, we had a fun afternoon ahead. Our good friends’ little girl turned one!

A kid’s birthday party may not sound like a good time to many of you, but I love these little get togethers we have.

A) Get to hang out with so many of our friends all at once.

B) All the kids keep each other entertained.

C) Good food is always involved.

I had a snack plate of chips with some corn dip, 7 layer dip, and a veggie bar. X2 because I had to go back for seconds. Plus, a Belgian Shock Top beer. It was a party after all.

D) Birthdays mean cake.

My friend Angie always has a co-worker make cakes for her special events. They are heavenly! This one was a chocolate amaretto cake. As good as it sounds…and looks.

Makenzie made a new best friend during the cake cutting. Grandma “D” (my friend’s mom) served M her own small piece. Enter sugar rush.

See? Kiddo birthday parties are a great time! It was the highlight of our Saturday. After all, Saturday night all we did was eat some pizza and watch the movie Life As We Know It.

Cute. Predictable. Peter fell asleep. You know you wish you had my life. 😉

Question of the Day – Eyebrows - Wax? Tweeze? Threading? Au natural?

  1. I love your photos from the Birthday party. They are adorable! I am very lucky that I have to do very little with my eyebrows. I tweeze them every once in awhile but honestly they just keep there shape without me trying.

  2. So, now I would far rather have cake for lunch than the salad I packed. Hmmm . . .

Blink and you’ll be throwing your own 1st birthday party before you know it 90:

I tweeze, because I can’t afford to wax anymore and I miss it.
I am blonde, too but it makes all the difference. And, as a Florida girl and swimmer I swear by bikini waxes.
    Yup. Went there.

1 year bday parties are so for the adults, I love it!! And what a great mix of a weekend. Sounds perfect. Now M’s hair is really cracking me up!

  5. What a cute little cake! Love M’s hair! LOL! I used to love it when my hair did that 😀 Now…it’s just annoying…

  6. Karen says:

I love kid birthday parties too! I love talking to other Moms because I usually find out my kids aren’t the only ones doing crazy things!

  7. I heart anything with the word “cake” in it 🙂 Right now tweezing the brows, but I usually wax. I have never tired threading.

  8. Wax every time I get my haircut which is about every 2-3 months. It’s only $7 and that’s worth it to me and better then me trying to pluck them myself!!

(This is a new thing to me- but I like it so far!) 🙂

  9. Mandy says:

Sounds like a great Saturday 🙂

    I’m a waxer 😉

  10. Allie says:

It sounds like you had an awesome weekend 🙂 I love birthday parties!! I def. get my eye brows waxed 🙂

  11. that cake looks soo pretty! i think kid parties are fun too, brings back wonderful memories of running around and being carefree!

  12. I watched that movie this weekend, too! I felt the same way… predictable, yet cute. 🙂

That cake seriously made my mouth water. Kinda jealous of you right now. Not gonna lie. 🙂

My eyebrows are attempting to rock the au natural look right now…but that is only because I’ve been terribly lazy and haven’t gotten them waxed. I’m sure my husband would like to know that he didn’t marry a harry beast with one eyebrow…I see an appointment in my future. 🙂
