Not A Chatty Cathy

Posted: December 30, 2010 at 8:00 pm

I'm not a "Chatty Cathy" tonight, but I still wanted to post to get some things out. And for all of you new subscribers and readers - I am also not a "Negative Nancy". Please stick around so you can witness my normal, fun-loving and joyful side!

So. Some days start like this…

I’m extremely tired, as I have slept maybe 3 hours/night on average the last 2-3 weeks. I went to the doctor for a check-up today. I’m just under 1 cm dilated and “softening up”. In other words, something is happening but nothing to get even remotely excited about. All else looks healthy and good, but I was certainly hoping to hear more. I had a tiff with my dad. We have yet to master patience with each other. Then, I spent the afternoon in pain and in tears because all I wanted was Peter, but he couldn’t be around. I felt sad and alone, like I had no one to turn to.

Days like that...you have to end like this…

A couple reminders for you all:

Question of the Evening – What made you smile today?

  2. You are definitely getting there! Keep your chin up sweetie! He is almost here!

  3. I voted for Makenzie! 🙂 Feel better! <3

  4. I complained all day today to my poor mother, who listened to me vent about everything from friend drama to money issues. Thank you for reminding me how I need to end the day and who I should really be talking to.

  5. Hope it gets better soon! There is a light at the end of the tunnel, for baby (literally) and you!

What made me smile today: There is a bowl game tomorrow in Uptown Charlotte and I work Uptown. So there were all these vendors and live bands playing all day and it was fun to be tapping away at the computer while “Bust a Move” was playing.

  6. So sorry you had a rough day – I hate days like that! Hang in there…you are so close! Things are going to get better so soon:)

  7. seeing the missed chat from YOU made me smile 🙂

My heart goes out to you each and every time I read one of your posts as you wait for baby B to arrive. I can only imagine how tiring and frustrating it may be and I will definitely say a prayer or two for you and your family! I walk in the sunshine made me smile today…just knowing that even with 2 feet of snow on the ground I am not completely stuck inside! Soon soon soon for you and baby b!

  9. Marcia says:

    You are so close…. 🙂
My kids made me smile! My boss at the Y did too..she is crazy ( in the best way!)

Before you know it he’ll be here. I know the end is miserable…do you remember how much I was complaining on my blog? You’re allowed to-you’re tired, you hurt and you’re anxious. You aren’t negative at all, just keep that chin up, and snuggle your beautiful girl, it’ll make you smile!

  12. I’m so sorry you had a rough day! You will definitely be in my prayers tonight!

  13. chelsey says:

Talking to my boyfriend today and thinking about Valentine’s Day made me smile!

  19. I hope tomorrow is a wonderful day for you.

Browsing in Barnes & Noble made me smile today. It makes me feel all warm inside.

  20. I hope you start feeling better! You’re right, the best thing to do when we get like that is pray… or spend some time in worship, that usually helps me too.

Today I smiled because God showed me that He is faithful, even when it comes to the small things in life!

I also smiled when I left work because I have a 6 day weekend!

  21. Thank you for your honesty. I hope tomorrow is better for you! You are an inspiring woman 🙂

The fact that I did not have to go to work in town today made me smile. I got to stay home b/c of blizzard type weather conditions. B/c I was home and available I worked with my Husband caring for our livestock in adverse weather conditions. Smile #2 spending ALL DAY with the Hubby!

You’re in my thoughts Tina. Again, I can only imagine what it must be like to be waiting for the arrival of your baby boy. It’s totally understandable that some of these last days are going to be rough ones.. but your determination to get through them and keep a good perspective never fails to impress me.

  28. Courtney F says:

Our daughter, Ava, sick with a snotty nose and still all smiles despite it! I can’t resist that face!
I completely understand the “not liking pregnancy” stage you are in!
