So, the last two nights were pretty rough. Rough with a capital “R”. Actually, I take that back. They were ROUGH in all caps. What happened to my easy sleeper?
Someone once asked me what mothers do when they are short on sleep. Well, I know first hand this morning so I will tell you.
I toss my hair back in a ponytail and throw on sweats. I don’t recommend this every day, because prettying up in general helps me feel better, but sometimes its just downright necessary.
On the especially hard days, I do turn to caffeine. Oh, the sweet nectar of the sleep-deprived come to me!!
I bite my tongue a lot. I pray a lot. A calm demeanor is not my virtue when tired.
And I just do it. I get through because I have to. Sometimes with tears and that’s okay too. It passes. I keep telling myself it passes.
That’s all I can muster for a post right now. So, pretty please with a cherry on top click over to my guest post at Samantha from Bikini Birthday’s blog. Trust me that you would much rather read that post than anything sleep-deprived I could whip up right now.
Question of the Day – What do you do when you are sleep deprived, but can’t get a good nap?

Caffeine def helps! i usually just take it easy that day! I hate to push push push when I am tired, it makes me so groggy, so I jsut take it easy!
Sleep deprivation is the worst! Hope you get some rest tonight!!
Caffine and additional liquids and finding a few moments to breath and relax even if it is really short. In class, I would eat a lot of mints to help keep me awake 🙂
aww, so sorry you are sleep deprived :/ I know you know it is totally worth it to have 2 children though!! I hope you got through the day well and maybe got to sneak a nap in 😉
Ah girl I’m so sorry! I hate when babies don’t sleep good! I know you know this… but I have to remind myself this too… it WILL pass. Hopefully soon!:) Feel better!
I always say – never be afraid of crying it out for a few minutes! It always helps to just release it. Hope you get more sleep tonight!
I’m right there with ya girl. I’m trying to clean up my eating and get some yoga in..and of course rest. I need to pray and read the Word too!
Keep hangin in there~
OH Tina, I hope you are OK..and BTW I checked out your guest post and it was beautiful!
I hope baby B goes back to being a good sleeper for you really really soon!
I just wrote about this!!! I was so sleep deprived last week. I found myself extremely cranky and not pleasant to be around. I took a lot of time to myself to reevaluate why exactly I wasn’t sleeping, what was on my mind etc. The commitment I made this week to sleep already has Me already feeling a billion times better!
You look beautiful!! Way to power through 🙂
Caffeine.
