Month 1 Progress Pictures
Posted: February 12, 2011 at 7:07 pmDespite not having a great night of sleep, I had a great start to the weekend today. I woke up and fed baby B, then did my progress checks (more on those in a minute). After that I downed a banana and quickly filmed this week’s FFF Featured move before heading to the gym. Speaking of which – I really need to at least ACT a bit more awake in those videos. I promise I’m not so dull. You should know from reading I’m typically pretty energetic.
I certainly had energy once I got into my final workout of Couch to 5K’s week two. I always feel so accomplished after every session. Today, the workout called for alternating 90 seconds of running with 2 minutes of walking. I alternated between 4.4 and 7.0 mph and ended up with 2.15 miles covered in 25 minutes.
After my workout, I came home and ate up a bowl of brown oats. PB & Co sent me some new peanut butter and I knew I had to incorporate it into this morning’s breakfast. Oats, greek yogurt, Dark Chocolate Dreams, and some raisins.
It hit the spot. Just like foam rolling out my legs did. I want to be sure I stay on top of keeping my muscles stretched out.
And now what you all likely came to see…1 month progress pictures. The images on the left are from 1 week post-partum. The images on the right are from this morning, just after 1 month post-partum.
And a bit of a closer look at the areas I’m working on….
I’m certainly happy with the results I have achieved in 3.5 weeks.I think progress pictures are the best way to really see and track the results. I can tell by looking at these that things are happening. It’s not huge, but that’s a good thing in my opinion. I much prefer slow and steady losses. Which is what I had on the scale with my first weigh-in.
I plan on doing a post like this once a month (every 4 weeks) to share my progress with all of you, hold me accountable, and have a place to keep record of it all. For that reason, I will share my progress stats in these progress posts only. Hopefully once a month won’t be too much for you all.
For this month, I don’t have much to share in the way of stats. I only had my first weigh-in this morning. I was down 1.4 pounds from this past week, which is great.:) I also took measurements this morning and I will share changes from those my next progress post. I want to have all the information so I can see the entire picture and not focus too much on one aspect of measuring progress. Progress pictures and the fit of my clothes will always take precedence though in tracking progress. And of course, I will be feeling good taking care of myself every step of the way! I truly feel GREAT already. I plan to keep on like I have been and just seeing where it brings me. Wherever it is, it will surely be a happy place.
So, there you have my first progress post. I promise future ones won’t be so wordy!
Question of the Evening – What is the most painful area to foam roll for you?

You look fantastic! I’m so happy for you, and it’s so inspiring to see how you’ve been _creating_ this right here (I shouted you out in my blog last night for appreciating your thoughts on the blog as source of accountability).

good for you! these are great progress picks for only 3.5 weeks! Keep up the great work and dedication!
So proud of you!! Looking amazing girl!!
You look fantastic!!! All your hard work is paying off! I told all my tension in my neck and back so those are always the most important, yet painful, spots for me to stretch out.
WOW!! Great job!
Way to go Tina!! You are kicking but and king names!!
Awesome progress! You look amazing. My IT band is by far the most painful place to foam roll, but I still love it!
You look great tina! My most painful but also beneficial place to foam roll is my IT bands. Ouch!
Dang! that’s impressive!! nice job Tina!
You just inspired me to foam roll while I watch Dexter. My IT band and calves reeeeally need it.
You look awesome! I can’t believe you only gave birth a month ago- you look so great.
My IT band always hurts the worst…gotta do it though!
You have accomplished so much in the past month, awesome job! I’m sure there are many days that it’s hard to fit it all in. Very inspirational that you are able to balance everything. I’m looking forward to future progress posts.
I think my workouts are the main thing I can always fit in. I look forward to it after a long way as a way to relieve stress.
OMG – those are HUGE results! Congrats!
My quads kill to foam roll. I try to avoid them at all costs. 🙂
You look awesome! 😀 I’m so happy for you!!! 😀
When my IT bands acted up, foam rolling helped SO much! It hurt so good. 🙂
You can definitely see a big difference in your progress pics. Good job.
I actually have never used a foam roller. I know, I know.
IT band on my left side- killerrrrr. so glad i got one to do it though or else i’d be in bad shape! you look so great keep up the good work!!
You look fab! I think posting about it every four weeks is perfect 🙂
One month postpartum and you are looking great! It’s not going to take you long to get back to that figure you’re used to.
That’s what I’m hoping. Although I’m just shooting for by the end of the year. If sooner…then great! 😉
Nicely done with that run! And congrats on the progress. I know you’ve got to be feeling good. My IT band has been the most painful area to roll. I mean, take your breath away hurt.
You look absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Seriously, I think you have made so much progress over the last month.
I have never foam rolled, but I’m pretty sure I should start.
Girl! You look AWESOME! Rocking progress! Applause for you!!! And glad your weekend has started off so well. That bowl of oats looks delicious. I took pump for the first time since finding out I was pregnant on Friday and took Body Step this morning. My legs are SCREAMING! I need to stretch 🙂 Hope the rest of your weekend is fantastic
Isnt it crazy how fast workouts will get tougher while pregnant?
you look amazing, Tina! Way to go…between nursing, not sleeping, being a mommy to two, and still taking care of yourself…awesome job!
So glad that you are seeing some progress!! I can’t believe you just had a baby 1 month ago…you look AMAZING!!
You look gorgeous! Obviously a hard-working, caring, and positive minded mom of 2 🙂 You inspire me – I want your incredible body confidence and commitment to focusing on feeling strong and good in your clothes instead of focusing on numbers.
This comment made my day. Thanks!
Congrats on the 1 month progress!
The most painful are to foam roll is my IT band area. But foam rolling definitely ease the tightness!
i think progress pics are a great way to track your results! keep up the great work! you look awesome. i’ve never tried a foam roller…they kinda scare me 🙂
They hurt…but they work! It’s the only thing that has ever helped my tight hamstrings.
You’re doing a great job! I loved the Couch to 5k program!
Wow!! You seriously look fabulous! Keep up the great work. 🙂
WOW! You should be so proud of yourself! You look great! Keep inspiring us, girl! Love it!
Great job Tina! Thank you so much for sharing all of this with all of us.
Girl you look amazing! Congrats on the progress 🙂
My calves are pretty painful to foam roll, and if I haven’t rolled my IT band in a hot minute, then it’s pretty painful too.
Haha! I have never heard anyone but my sister say a hot minute. And yes – IT band and calves are the most killer for me too.
the worst area is my hamstrings for sure…they’re always so insanely tense! and you look beautiful; always have, always will 🙂
OMG!!! What do you mean those results aren’t huge?!?! Holy wow…it is amazing! Good for you!!! 🙂
You look awesome Tina! Way to go!
Major progress Tina! You look great. Can’t believe it’s been a month already!!
Looking good, Tina! You’re doing a great job, and I love your slow, steady, healthy-mindset approach to all of this.

Girl, you look amazing! Nice job!
You are rockin’ it lady-you look amazing!!!! I’m going to be blowing up your email when I get pregnant for post-motivation!!!!
def IT band!
You look great girl 🙂
Thank you for sharing your progress with us!! I’m preparing myself to take the plunge and start trying to have my first kid in the next year, so this really helps me have a realistic role model and expectations for my body (rather than the Heidi Klums who seem to get their bodies back in 2 weeks). Thanks for sharing!
That’s the hope to show the more realistic side. Those articles of celeb moms getting their bodies back in 10 days or whatever always irk me.
You are looking AMAZING! So inspiring you are! 😀
SO proud of you!! You look great, so healthy and HAPPY which is the best of all. I can tell you are feeling good about your progress and its so awesome to see. I give you SUCH props for being so open about your progress, it’s refreshing and totally inspiring.
I hope this isn’t too inappropriate, but gracious your boobs look amazing! 😉 I sure hope you’re embracing that!
My hurts-so-good foam roll spot is the piriformis. Evil, but necessary!
Haha! I don’t find it inappropriate from you at all. And I actually hate having a larger chest. I know I’m odd. I can’t wait to lose them….even if it means the return of saggy post nursing boobs. LOL
Congrats on the progress! Yes, keep stretching and rolling! It is a great way to prevent injury and sidelining. Now gotta heed to my own advice!
