More In 5-4-3-2-1

Posted: August 22, 2011 at 7:05 am

Hello my lovely friends! Did you have yourselves a fun weekend as well where the chance to do some blog reading just did not happen? Oh, how I feel ya! If you’re in my shoes and have the overwhelming temptation to “mark all as read” but don’t want to miss some goodies, let me help ya out for what went down here at least. It’s what friends do.

Whew! It’s kind of exhausting just looking back on all that happened over the past few days. Although I wouldn’t trade a single moment of that fun for some extra shut eye. I can catch up…someday. I do have mommy duty now after all. 😉

To ease back into, well, life I thought it could be fun to do a little round up or survey type of post. I met so many new friends at the conference and want to be sure those new visitors I see hanging out around here (HI!!!!!!) can have a quick way to bond. Feel free to play along in the comments or post your own on your blog for fun. Let’s get started in 5…4…3…2…1

5 Words to Describe Myself

IMGP0026

4 Favorite Foods

  • Pizza
  • Frozen Yogurt
  • Sushi
  • Oatmeal (because oatmeal includes peanut butter – duh)

3 Things I’m Most Proud Of Accomplishing

IMGP0984

  • Overcoming Binge Eating – While it will never fully disappear, I still feel so empowered knowing how far I have come in my relationship with food. And I will say so proudly because I want others to know they can too!
  • Blogging – I will forever feel thankful for coming across the blogging world and all it has offered me in making me a better person. It has showed me I need to go for my dreams and after this weekend I feel even more revitalized to dream bigger, reach higher, and never settle!
  • Becoming A Mother/Wife – I may have gotten married and had kids a little younger than some, but I couldn’t imagine my life without Peter and my two little monkeys.

2 Favorite Workouts

  • Running (long runs specifically)
  • Strength Training Circuits (feel the burn!)

1 Thing to Expect From My Blog

Truth. Whether it be talking about Body After Baby progress, an emotional eating battle, or, heck, even farting, I will lay it on the line. If you’re new, I hope you stick around and enjoy the ride. We have a good time. And if you’re a long time friend…I have even more in store for you and cannot wait to go there with you via FFF. Let’s par-tay!!!!

Give me one of your answers to the 5-4-3-2-1 survey: 5 Words, 4 Foods, 3 Accomplishments, 2 Workouts, or 1 Blog Fact.

  1. 5 words to describe myself are: kind, giving, passionate, determined and happy.

4 fav foods are: sushi, chocolate, salads, cheese

3 accomplishments: quitting my teaching job to be a full time health coach, my masters degree and being a good wife

2 fav workouts: running & yoga

1 blog fact: Sometimes healthy means indulging in not typically “healthy” foods and you’ll see that on my blog. I strike a balance!

  2. Totally love this and you described yourself perfectly (well at least the perception I have of you! 😉 ) Totally doing this sometime this week!

  3. I’m with you 100% on the workouts! Nothing beats the feeling of finishing a long run, and I love how strong I feel after a good strength workout.

  4. I love the 5-4-3-2-1 concept! I might be borrowing this for a post later today, just so you know 😉

And by the way– I love the fact that I always know I can expect 100% truth from your blog

  5. Pam C says:

You’ve slowly become one of my favorite blogs! I randomly found a post of yours on another blog once read it and liked it and then somehow your blog kept popping up. I knew that it must mean you’re fantastic and I was right 😀 keep it up suga!

    • Tina says:

Aw, thank you so much Pam!!! This comment made my morning. Love connecting with friends (including readers!) through this fabulous community. have a fabulous day!

  6. “overwhelming temptation to “mark all as read” but don’t want to miss some goodies” – that’s totally me on Monday mornings since I don’t check blogs on the weekends! Your recaps are always great! 🙂

  7. I love to rollerblade and swim! I loved this post! how creative 😉

  8. Hmm… I love this… Hope you don’t mind if I steal it for my post? 🙂 Thanks in advance….much love!

    xoxo from Trinidad

  9. I totally and completely love this. Hope you don’t mind if I copy it and do it sometime this week…with credit, of course 🙂

This post also made me realize that it’s been way too long since I had some good old-fashioned pizza!

  10. I’m most proud of being a mom too. Now my youngest is in college so I need to find something else to be proud of and a new way to define myself!

  11. Lauren says:

5 Things I love about YOU- You are so inspiring, you are one of the most REAL people I’ve met, you are an incredible mom, and you have the biggest heart!
    <3 you!!!

    • Tina says:

Aw, lauren! You’re going to make me cry. I love you too and had so much fun this weekend. Only wish we had MORE time to hang out. Hugs!

  12. Amy Lauren says:

I love this and want to do it in my blog, so I think I might blog my 5-4-3-2-1 instead of just replying to it :). I’m glad you had fun at HLS, really enjoyed your blogs.

  13. Khushboo says:

    This is SO fun:

4 Foods: Firstly ONLY 4?? OK I feel like I’m choosing between friends but here goes: oatmeal, frozen yogurt, cereal, eggs
1 Blog Fact: I sometime ‘cheat’ and write 2-3 blog posts in advance as back-up and post them on the days the juices aren’t flowing/lack of time!

  14. There is no way that I could pick 2 favorite workouts. Swimming rules. Running feels great after. Strength training makes us all strong women (and puts some full-of-themselves dudes back in their place). Cycling makes me feel fast. But since you are such a fast, awesome runner I can see why you picked that.

    • Tina says:

Haha! I originally had 4 workouts but then when I got to 2 foods I thought choosing only 2 foods was harder so switched them. I love me some workouts and good eats.

  15. Is it bad that I now want frozen yogurt for breakfast? Yum.

I’m not a new reader because of this weekend, but I just started reading FFF within the last week or so. I loved this “nice to meet you” post!

  16. Great post! I’m proud of:
1 – Finding (and holding onto) my best friend and husband
2 – Getting my masters degree
3 – Being so close with my family (it’s a great feeling)

  17. Bari says:

I love the 5-4-3-2-1 idea & might have to borrow it for my blog sometime!

I’ll answer 1 piece: favorite food is pizza, totally bad for you sausage, pepperoni, mushroom & green pepper.

  18. Kelly says:

5 words to describe myself are: loyal, selfish, passionate, driven and happy.

4 fav foods are: pink lady apples, hummus, cookie cake, fajitas

3 accomplishments: being a good wife, getting my teaching certificate, admitting when I needed help

2 fav workouts: running & weight lifting!

1 blog fact: I sometimes hold back on my true feelings because I know some of how I feel (specifically about the healthy living blog community) would be controversial and probably wildy unpopular.

  19. Stephanie says:

    This is fun! Hmmm…

4 favourite foods: watermelon, cherries, raspberries and thai green curry

1 thing to expect from my blog: errrr…I’m still working on that. I can’t decide if I want to blog more about house-love or body-love.

  20. Just like everyone else I think I’m going to borrow this idea for my blog today. It’s just too fantastic 😀

  21. How old (young) were you when you got married and had kids?

    • Tina says:

I got married at 23 and had M at 25? I think. Oh, heck I don’t even know my age half the time! I can’t do the math. LOL

  22. Love you Tina!!

Now if only November would get here already so I can go ahead and meet you too!!

  23. 4 Fave foods:

    Mexican (a good burrito)
Pizza (cheese with onions — deep dish prefered)
    Oatmeal (because it’s so filling)
Pumpkin pie (because that’s totally a meal like food)

  24. Anna Crouch says:

Okay, so since I’m working on building my confidence, I will list 5 words to describe myself. Is it bad that it took me awhile to think of some? Sheesh. I need to start listing off positive things every morning or something! I could hardly think of three positive descriptions!!

    1. Caring
    2. Hard working
    3. Driven
    4. Generous
    5. Creative

  25. I have to hands-down 100% agree with your favorite foods…especially frozen yogurt!

  26. Fun post, Tina! It sounds like HLS was so much fun 🙂 I’m hoping I can get to a conference at some point in the future!

Four favorite foods- cheese, guacamole, burrito bowls and wine (wine counts, right? 😉 )

  27. Sara says:

What a fun post! When I get through all my HLS weekend recaps, I’m going to play 5-4-3-2-1, too. But for now, 4 favorite foods: rice and beans, spaghetti, popovers, coconut layer cake.

It was great to meet you this weekend. And, thanks for the awesome granola samples.

  28. four fave foods? pizza, oatmeal, chopped salad, goat cheese and roasted vegetable wraps.

Also, the pic of you and the girls running on healthy happier bear? Love your shorts. (I have the same pair!)

I feel like if it were a pic of mom fitness bloggers we would look like a target convention.

  29. What a cool post! Do you mind if I do this on mine one day?

4 favorite foods: 1) Sushi; 2) Chocolate chip cookies; 3) Produce (veggies and fruit); 4) oatmeal

2 favorite workotus: 1) Running – oh how I love you!; 2) jump rope

    2. Cheerful
    3. Honest
    4. Loud
    5. Energetic

  31. What a fun post, Tina! You’re so clever 🙂
    Ummm, I already miss you…

  32. This is great! Thanks for sharing!
    5 words that describe me:
Funny (well ive been told that :))
    Sensitive
    Loving
    Reliable
Clumsy (I spill on myself daily.. Or walk into something)

  33. I love getting to know more about you! These survey style things are always so much fun :). 5 words to describe myself: genuine, shy, quiet, compassionate, hard working!

  34. Sophie says:

Great post! I love getting to know more about you 🙂
Mind if I steal it for a post?
Your 3 proudest accomplishments are lovely 🙂

Posted: November 16, 2011 at 7:54 am

It’s kind of funny. I become a certified personal trainer and the first workouts I turn to this week come from someone else. The book came in for me at the library last week and, after flipping through it, I couldn’t wait to give the circuits a go. Making The Cut includes a lot of […]
