Excited To Spread The Love!!!!

Posted: July 16, 2011 at 10:02 am

Morning, friends! My favorite day of the week has arrived. I just love Saturdays and they always start out on the good side with a long run. Even when not my strongest run, I always feel so accomplished after finishing up my long run of the week. It’s a fabulous feeling and today was no different.

I had 8 miles on the half marathon training plan and I decided to take on the slower pace approach to see how it would work for me, especially considering I have only run one other eight miler before. I ended the eight miles with an average 9:46 pace and felt like I could have gone more. My legs weren’t screaming at me at all.

This morning also happened to be my first run in the rain. You can’t really tell in the photo but running six of my eight miles in steady rain left me soaked through! And refreshed! I actually really liked running in the rain.

After getting home, I immediately changed and got to work on breakfast.

IMGP0028

Handfuls of Love Grown Granola while waiting for a smoothie to blend anyone??

I ended up with another peanut butter, banana (the victorious fruit!), and Power GY vanilla protein powder smoothie thickened up with the xan (my new nickname for xanthan gum). All topped off with the Simply Oats granola from Love Grown.

IMGP0032

Favorite fruit? Check! Favorite thing to add to every breakfast (aka peanut butter)? Check! Favorite protein powder? Check! Favorite granola? Check! And now Love Grown and I get to share an even more special, loving bond.

IMGP0030

I have been bursting at the seams to announce that I will work to represent Love Grown as they sponsor me for the Healthy Living Summit this year!!!

I have shared on more than one occasion how much I love Love Grown – for the quality of their products, for what the company stands for, and for the inspiration they provide as driven and caring ambassadors to healthy living and eating. I have supported Love Grown ever since originally tasting their products and we decided my spreading the love at the conference would make a natural fit.

While all of this certainly excites me, it should hopefully excite you too. This bond means I get to share all sorts of special updates, promotions, giveaways, etc with YOU! After all, I hope to share the love daily and Love Grown lives and breathes spreading love. I wouldn’t want to connect with a company that did any less.

In fact, I already have some cool news to give you:

  • Florida Residents: You should now be able to find Love Grown Granola in your local Fresh Market stores!!
  • Check out the Love Grown You Tube Channel:  Find fun videos like a ping pong battle over their Cocoa Goodness granola or watch the story of Love Grown Foods. It’s pretty amazing.

Well, now that my belly is full of love (cheesy pun, I know), I must get a start on my day. First up = picking up those healthy grocery staples, of course. Catch ya later!

  • How do you like to start your Saturday mornings?
  • What’s a company you simply adore?

  1. I love waking up early to start my day with coffee, breakfast and reading!

I adore the “Annie’s Naturals” company…delicious snacks without fake ingredients!

  2. Awesome! I live in Florida and cant wait to check for this granola at the grocery store 🙂 Thanks!

And great job working out before breakfast. I can never manage to do that because by the time I get up my stomach is already destroying itself 🙁

    • Tina says:

Oh I eat my “pre-run meal” beforehand. I couldn’t go with an empty stomach. But thats at 5:30 am and too early to be deemed breakfast in my book. LOL

  3. I also love starting my Saturday with a run!! I wish I had a little rain to cool me off this morning. Peanut butter makes it’s way into most of my breakfasts as well!!! Love it!! 🙂

  4. Sarah says:

I love sleeping in and waking up to a delicious breakfast 🙂 Plus a good book.

    I simply adore Trader Joe’s!

  5. Lee says:

I like to work out in the mornings too. I was going to run this morning but have come down with a cold, so I decided that running in the rain probably wasn’t the best idea. Thusly, I am eating hummus instead.

  6. Amy Lauren says:

I usually start my Saturday mornings with a run too but I also like to throw in some pool time in the afternoon :). I’m glad your run was good, and rainy runs are pretty awesome unless it’s pouring or something.

I really like the Annie’s company but I also like Cascadian Farms brand too. I’ve never heard of Love Grown, don’t know if we have that here or not.

  7. Maria says:

Congrats! So excited for you and your new opportunity! If only I were going to HLS so I could finally say hi in person 🙂

Sadly, I usually start my Saturday mornings by throwing some laundry in and cleaning up the apartment. But I think a long run is probably a better alternative.

  8. Sarah R says:

So jealous of your connection with Love Grown! They sound like an absolutely wonderful company… can’t wait to hear more. Congrats on the great run too!

  9. Congrats on getting the sponsorship Tina!

This morning was great — I got some cleaning done, laundry started and my run done.

    • Tina says:

Love productive mornings and then the chance to have a care-free afternoon/evening. Hope you have a great rest of the weekend, Holly! 🙂

  10. lindsay says:

those are the best people on earth! love maddy and her passion. and congrats on your run, i love running in the rain.
    🙂

  11. Eep, I’m such a fair weather runner, I really need to man up…

I keep hearing so much about Love Grown! Are they available in the UK at all? If not… can you gently prod them in this direction please?! 🙂

  12. That’s awesome Tina! Kinda jealous of all your love grown 😉 can you tell them to get some in NY please! Help a sister out over here!

Nice job on the run, I love running in the rain too.

    • Tina says:

I know they are trying and hoping to expand in markets all across the nation. So NY will hopefully have some Love Grown one day. 🙂

  13. Hilary says:

I’m jealous of your granola sponsorship! I like to start my Saturday mornings with military tone class at my gym or a long run…I don’t mind running in the rain other than the squishy, wet feet feeling…not my fav!

  14. Katie says:

Well, I’m still in my pajamas. So I feel like my Saturday hasn’t really gotten off the ground, yet. 🙂

Also, yay for representing Love Grown!! That is so awesome! They are a Colorado company, so that makes me even happier – on top of the fact that I stinkin’ love their granola.

And I love running in the rain!

  15. High 5’s on the run! Love it when I end a run and feel really really good. That’s a good sign! And that granola is just the best. YUM

  16. Congrats on your sponsorship! Love Grown is a great company, you’ll do wonderfully at representing them.

  17. Congrats on the good run! It really is such a great feeling. My favorite way to start the Saturday is with a run or some sort of workout too. This morning it’s bikram for me!

  18. Lisa says:

glad you had a good run Tina! I love running in the rain too 🙂 It definitely beats running in the heat! I love your entire post too

  19. Congrats on your long run! I bet the rain beats the heat at least. 🙂 Can’t wait to be able to pick up Love Grown in stores after reading so many great things about it!

  20. Oh I’m so jealous. Love Grown is THE BEST granola I’ve ever had and Laura was kind enough to send me a second shipment. I look for it at every health food store I got to in NorCal.

And since I’ll be at HLS, I’m hoping I’ll see Love Grown there!

    • Tina says:

I know they will be in the swag and I’ll probably have a few tricks up my sleeves on their behalf as well. 😉

  21. I LOVE running in the rain! I always feel so refreshed. You are glowing in your post-run pic 🙂

I can’t find Love Grown granola anywhere in the Toronto area. Sad 🙁
I may have to look online…it looks ridiculously delicious.

  22. my half marathon was in the cold rain and i actually loved it!

    • Tina says:

I actually thought of you during my run because of that. Actually, I have been thinking about you a lot lately. I miss you. We need a chat via google or phone pronto. 🙂

  23. I’m so impressed that you ran in the rain! Damp sneakers and socks are one of my top pet peeves, I don’t think I could do it!

  24. Errign says:

Lately, I’ve been starting my Saturday mornings with pancakes and yoga. Yay.

Favorite companies? Stonyfield and Sahale Snacks 🙂

  25. You look so HAPPY in these photos! Gives me hope for life.

I have those exact same running shorts. They are so comfy.

  26. Ohhh I’m still waiting for the day when I decide to purchase some love grown! It’s kinda pricey, but I will soon! 😉

And I love Liberte yogurt, Once Again nut/seed butters, and Food for Life!
Have a beautiful day and congratulations on your new partnership changes!

  27. Ela says:

Congratulations many times over! So many cool things you’re reporting and you look fabulous.

I can’t think of a company I adore off the top of my head but I love small companies that stand by their principles generally.

  28. Congratulations on the sponsorship Tina! They sound like a great company!!! 🙂

Also, awesome job on the 8 miler in the rain! Running in the rain is always fun! 😉

  29. Ann Claire says:

Your breakfast bowl looks so yummy! I’ve been wanting to try Love Grown Granola for a while, you now have me wanting to try it even more!

  30. Priyanka says:

I am really glad that I found a great spinning class on Saturday mornings. Helps me start the weekend on the right foot!

    • Tina says:

Before I got into running, I always hit up a Saturday morning spin class. It is a great way to start the weekend!

  31. I love starting my Saturday mornings with either a workout followed by family breakfast or family breakfast followed by a workout, depending on what time I finally drag myself out of bed 😉 . We have four breakfasts more or less on rotation for Saturday mornings at my house, and they’re all ah-mazing (pancakes, waffles, French toast, aebelskivers). Mmmm love.

Speaking of love: so excited to hear about all this Love Grown business! I’ll for sure be keeping my eyes peeled for giveaways…I’ve been wanting to try Love Grown for SO LONG. Actually, I think that’s how I found your blog in the first place.

  32. Coco says:

Oh, granola is a dangerous thing for me to have in the house. I love it and its so easy to gobble down several servings at once!

I like to start my Saturdays with a long run, followed by a big pot of coffee while I catch up on my favorite blogs.

  33. That’s AWESOME that you’re the Love Grown rep! Lucky lucky girl 🙂

For companies, one of my favourites is TOMS shoes. I truly admire the One for One policy and their footwear is so comfortable!

  34. How fun, I’m so glad you get to work with love grown! I adore their granola…I just don’t know if I’ll ever enjoy any other kind as much as theirs!

  35. I love Love Grown Granola – they sent me some a few months ago and I’m hooked now! Congrats to you, what a big honor, Tina!

By the way, I love running in the rain. Unless it’s an absolute downpour, it’s so peaceful!

  36. We had the same breakfast this morning!!! Deliciousness is contagious!!

  37. i LOVE lovegrown! A company I really love is Larabar. I have a great relationship with the company, and have always enjoyed working with them!

  38. Jen says:

Saturday mornings…love drinking coffee, watching the Today show, going to workout class!

A company I admire is Chic-fil-A…positive values, empower the store owners, food tastes great (although still could be healthier, is the only fast food that I eat).

  39. Congratulations on your sponsorship, Tina! That’s great!!
